- Honda 400EX Affordable Trail Quad Project Build Part 2. The Honda 400EX is an ideal candidate for building an affordable, reliable and run trail quad. In this series we purchase and evaluate a used 400EX. We then replace any worn or bent parts to restore its stock performance and add the necessary upgrades to the build to create a long lasting ATV for aggressive trail riding.
In this episode, Host Evan Hartzel restores the 400EX performance installing a good used subframe from Power Sports Nation, Uni air filter, various factory Honda bolts and Braking brake pads. To improve the 400EX durability we install a 4 piece skid plate set from Ricochet, GPS beadlock wheels, and Uni foam filter with Maxima Fab 1 air filter oil. A combination of GBC XC Ground Buster 3 and XC Master tires improve traction and handling aided by a PEP steering stabilizer. A new look is provided by a FTR Powersports graphics kit and Cosmic Quads seat Cover.

I really enjoy the series, not much sport quad stuff out there, ill take whatever you guys can put out! Thanks
It's great to see new sport quad content, as always!
More coming.
Good god somebody build a dam sport quad already. I know Yamaha does but 10k is tough to swallow for the Raptor and YFZ, badass machines though. Would love to see a modern day 300 ex or Mojave etc that was more affordable.
We completely agree. We are in serious need of an entry level sport machine.
Love the build series! Incredibly well produced as always. You guys have one of, if not the best, channels for atv content. Diverse, balanced, and well made 💪
Glad to hear! We have been getting mixed reviews on the build of videos. We definitely appreciate everyone's feedback
looks great! cant wait to see her rip!
We are excited to hit the trail.
One of the best quads ever built.
Agreed. The loss of the four hundred class has left a gaping hole in the market.
Need exhaust and rejetted carb. Mine ran great with a white bros pipe
Super 💪💪
Glad you like.
👍👍👍
So you didn’t change the carrier bearings or ball joints from episode 1? Or did i miss that?
One more to go.
@@ATVonDemand Oh good. This is a cool series.
Where did u order the skid plate and belly plate from?
Ricochet Off Road. We have used them on a number of ATVs
This channel seems to have gone down the gurgler 😮
A long time ago , we used to host all of our videos on our webside. We used to do these quad build videos back then and people really enjoyed them. Thought we would bring them back and see how they do on youtube. If the numbers don't pan out we we'll not keep doing them this way. We are not abandoning testing new machines and doing shootouts by any means. Thanks for your input. Please stand by
Richard, something tells me the vast majority of the viewers disagree with you. 😉
Terrible take right there. This channel is elite tier content.
Lame, why would you need all this for a 400ex. My 450R never needed it.
to each their own
@@OlSlickDaddy Thank you.
It's a shame that RUclips has stopped allowing people to see how many thumbs down get posted on some of these ridiculously negative remarks.
