Why is the need to " expand appearance"?

I just applied the transform effect to the rectangle at first step. basically it's just a single object And you can randomize it.
so by expanding appearance you turn all effect to real objects.

I can not choose colors when the panel is open, why could it be?
I dont know, sometimes it depends on illistrator version
It happened the same to me. But then I took the colour panel outside (Like she did in the video) and finally it worked.
Nobu Design, is there any way to randomly replace objects? I have letters, and I'd like to change their places. How can I do it?! I'm searching and couldn't find any easy way T_T

CAN this script be used for Adobe Illustrator CS6? ... I tried to install with same process but after completing Randomus Script is still not visible. please answer somebody..
I've never tried it in cs6, but try restarting your Illustrator after installing the script
The scripts cause an error, all of them, in the latest AI. Is there any way to fix it?
