If you haven’t thought about it, keep in mind a place to do your pressure washing and drainage for that area. Also maybe some kind of shade structure over the concrete area between buildings, it’s gonna get hot in there since it will be sheltered from any breeze.
Puddin you might want to put the merch portion up front with a roll up door for shipping and receiving. Plus you would have a direct route from the shop to your office and putting the roll up door on the front of the addition would look better from the house and make the building more symmetrical from the front for a better look.
Yeah, office in the back. You will probably wanna put in a minisplit AC unit, and it would be hidden in the back. Garage door in the front, to be able to back in the yeehawl to load/unload.
Yeah that’s a good idea, works well for loading and unloading of the merch, I was also thinking if he set the two sheds back far enough and added another concrete pad so they sat side by side, after the merchandise is moved over to the new building he could utilize those two sheds for storing small parts like carburetors or intakes, nuts and bolts. And that would still leave a lot of room for metal racks
I think I'd put the merch side at the front portion of the addition. That way if you wanted to go to the office area or restroom from the shop you don't have to cut through the merch area or go outside.
Make the concrete pad look like an old school, 50's gas station. Big ol' Puddin's Fab Shop neon sign and all! A pair of vintage pumps at the front of the pad would look awesome.
Lots of good ideas here, Puddin! But is your vision. Seeing you achieve your dreams it is why we keep tuning in! Stay humble and keep being you. Everyone is cheering for you!
As tall as the building would be you could mezzanine a 2nd floor & double your square footage fairly cheap. I was curious if you plan on having a parts room & a clean room inside the shop for building engines & transmissions. If you don't plan on having one inside the shop, you could always widen the concrete pad on the end of the shop & turn the merch buildings into a clean room & possible parts room. You could cut a door at the end of the shop & face the small buildings against the shop so you could access the buildings from inside the shop. Put them in the far right rear corner, that way you could still use the front area for outside storage like you already planned on doing. If you do plan on putting a 2nd floor whether it's a traditional floor or mezzanine, you could put in a 4'x4' or 5'x5' lift (like an open elevator) to be able to store heavy objects upstairs & keep it out of your way downstairs in the shop. I worked in the parts department for a Jeep, Chrysler & Dodge dealership for 16 years & we had one & it was so nice being able to get heavy or bulky items upstairs on the mezzanine. This is what is so nice about what you are doing. You can design & build whatever you want within reason. Thanks for sharing your plans with us & I'm looking forward to seeing what you decide to do. Y'all definitely deserve everything good that is happening and will happen in the future!!
If you add on to that shop make sure there’s someplace for all that rainwater to go. This is usually the first thing everyone forgets until they get that first frog choker. A 30x60 shop produces about 1100 gallons of runoff per inch of rainfall.
Don’t worry about naysayers Puddin. The difference between your channel and other RUclips car shows is we get to know you. It’s like watching your buddies’ show. Not just the same ole make it run show over and over. Keep up the good work.
@@madmex2k yes, I know. But does that mean they wouldn't like a space to themselves? Not in the house, where they can just "get away"? Or turn up their music or watch their shows or ... Twas just a suggestion from a guy who has raised many teenage girls. Like Puddin himself, I'm a stepfather.
I really like your horseshoe building idea. All the little perks - more space, prettier face, the Puddin' stuff courtyard, etc - sum up to a whole way more than their parts. Keep working that plan cause it's worth it.

No harm in letting us know how your doing brother, you deserve whatever you decide, we are all proud of you. The other thing to think about, every improvement you make, you are building home equity with a new house , pond, workshop and storage buildings, landscaping it all increases the property value greatly, a sound investment for you and family's future Steel buildings of all sizes can be ordered color coded and fully fabricated on site in 2-3 days, all you need is a concrete slab. A quick google search showed all that you spoke of is available or somewhat close to your area or maybe its closer to Mortske. Best wishes, Good luck Puddin and congrats in all your endeavors.
Puddin, this is awesome. You’re making your dream come true, and it’s inspiring. So glad that you are able to pursue your goals. And being able to provide wonderful content for many people
That’s going to be pretty cool… and in between the two big parts of the shop you could put up a big awning so you could do stuff outside with out being rained on or burnt up by the sun
When you give us insights about the shop and your new property, it isn't revealing to much, it is inspiring and it gives us more idea about who you are and reminds us you are human and not just a voice behind a camera.
For doing an addition, do a bi-level setup. Keep the bottom for project parking only and upper for all merchandise. Everything stays clean and the rest is for work.
Great video as always Sir. Congratulations on the expansion of the shop. Love the drawings. If you covered the area in between the two larger😮 shops, you could do even more business, while staying out of the elements. Congratulations again on your continued success 👍🏻
Make the old sheds stick off the cement pad like a deck. Put them on some 4x4s and pylons next to each other towards the front. Keep the pad wide open. Then you can have the whole pad to store stuff towards the back until you get the addition figured out. It’s looking sweet man. Stoked for you and your family. I need an emotional support shop. It seems therapeutic.
Put the roll up shed on the concrete pad, flush with the end of the shop. Then put the merch shed on a block foundation off of the concrete pad and facing the roll up shed. Then you'll have that 6 or whatever feet of concrete between the two for access. Plus easy vehicle access for Ship & Rec. When the addition is done, just push the roll up to it's Hush House position, the renovate the other into 'Puddin's Nap Shack & Snack Shop' or whatever. P.S. I'm holding out for a possible 'Shit The Bed' T-Shirt - C'mon!
You should put the bathroom in the corner where the dividing wall meets the current shop so you have easy access to the bathroom from the shop, merch room, gym, and office.
Some will say "you already have a sweet setup", but I say.... "Do whatever you want!!!" Good for you man! Couldn't have happened to a better guy/family! Love all the content on both channels!
My free vote is put a carport roof over the long narrow concrete pad. That way the weather is kept off the "stuff" you store there. Can't wait to see the mezzanine built, you could have a 8' whiteboard to draw on.
Keep talking brother!!! Your journey towards your dreams is inspirational and your words are informational and both are helping this 58 year old man see how a modern entrepreneur builds his empire cuz I never had anyone to show me how to do this... Thanx for sharing and I'll keep watching ✌️😎👍
When dad and I were building race cars, we decided to buy sign equipment to letter our own cars. Then we did merchandise, we bought t-shirt printers and embroidery machines to keep it all in house. That was 45 years ago. Still use all of it as a side business. I know, not everyones cup of tea. As far as temp merchandise, maybe consider one on the concrete and the other on the dirt facing the concrete. Run power through the one to the other. Makes for a distance trip behind them but helps with immediate access to merch. Bathroom is a must, especially when you get to my age (30 second rule).
i enjoy these vids as it shows how you want puddin inc to evolve ,it makes us the puddin crew feel involved to a certain extent but keep up the fantastic vids sir
I have been watching for a while, first time commenter. I am excited to watch your content concerning the addition, as I am with all your content on both of your channels. I am in my early 40’s and I use to work and fix everything, until my back gave out on me….waiting now on my 5th surgery. I say that to say this, it is a true blessing to look forward to enjoying your content….. I laugh my head off and admittedly cry tears of joy with you on those days you have. I know we don’t know each other from Adam, but I just wanted to say a big thank you! May God bless you and your family, I pray the best for you all.
I would swap the merch and office. For 2 reasons. 1. You can easily walk from the office to shop . 2. Bathroom would also be usable for shop since u only have the one. 3. It would also seperate the merch from the shop. Dang. Thats 3
These videos are the reason I watch specific youtubers. Stuff like this is the same thing I do wondering around my shop and back yard, they make you a "real" person and relatable. Not just some dude on youtube building a new shop so you can work on your Lambo or something
Put the merch sheds on the concrete but with the doors facing the big shop. Cut a door into the shop wall so you can access the merchandise sheds from inside. Once you get rid of the sheds, you can still have side exits out of the shop.
I do appreciate your transparency and your transparency is motivating. I’m almost twice your age trying to grow a channel. Keep being yourself. We appreciate it. BTW love my new sausage wagon shirt. Ontario Canada here.
Sleeperdude is building a 120ft shop. You're on the right track Puddin...Im just ready for you to been in the new location and to finally finish that darn wagon lol
Keep in mind, the more structures and square footage under air you put on the property is going to raise your property taxes !! As always Thanks for another , Brother !!
Nice that you're thinking about the future when you're in the process of building lot of people don't do that hopefully everything goes well keep the videos coming
1) Put a loft in the rear portion of the larger building. This would be a good use of wasted place. 2) Prepare the back place and gravel for all you vehicles awaiting your attention. 3) Plow under all the overgrown area. Make it a pasture. Get animals that would eat the grass. 3) Make sure you have a dressing room, shower/bathtub/whirlpool, and work clothes closest with washer and dryer. Your family then would not have work clothes mixing with good clothes. You could clean up and then come home sparkling clean. 4) Never use railroad ties for landscaping. Use stacked flat rocks. Rocks do not rot. Termites do not eat rock. Never plant things that takes too much upkeep. 5) Sell vehicles you do not need. Then, you do not need to move them but once. 6) Something to sleep on. Just because you will get tired. 7) Get viewers to come out and have a work frenzy. Many hands make soon an end. 8)I am a skilled organizer. No brag, just fact.
You give folks hope that they can venture out & grow a small business. It’s awesome to have watched you build everything. Best of luck & God bless yall
Put the area you use the most in the front and match the garage doors of the current big side. Likely have the merch in front with access for box truck delivery and shipping. If you can make a loft happen, a bathroom and office up top and back gets you even more space. Don't forget a bike rack for Bill and a room for him to crash after a long ride. If you roughly grade out and rock your future project yard you will be happy as well. Make it so it won't hold water. Easier to move the project, less muddy, less weeds.......less maintenance. Best of luck and looking forward to seeing the results. Keep up the great work.
You are an impressive person and I appreciate you showing your thought process. Glad to hear it comes from a place of wanting to help and not from a place of needing approval. Stay gangster dude.
I sure hope I’m wrong but I don’t think I’d bank on the RUclips thing being around in 2 decades. I honestly think like everything else the fad is going to wear off and/or be replaced with something new and more exciting to people. Influencers should probably think more like Garrett Mitchell aka cleetus McFarland and invest in another business to fall back on. If I were you puddin I think I would focus more on building more restorods and create a business of building and selling them. I hope I’m wrong but I don’t think RUclips is going to remain a viable business in the future. Also you can’t bank on future generations wanting to watch you work and buy your merch. Please don’t take this as me being a troll or hater. I want nothing more than for you to keep thriving but history has proven everything that is a fad so to speak fades out. I’m a huge puddin fan and I want the best for you and your family but please think about another business to have just in case you need it.
Hit the nail on the head. We all fucking absolutely love this guy….but he’s setting himself up to pay the piper. Like my pap always told me “don’t let the bank smack your fingers off your billfold when you reach in your pocket” Rules to live by. Which I have.
You are such a cool dude. I don’t even skip the ads on your vids. I knew chip and Jo back when they were regular people. They are awesome just like you. God Bless your family
My friend has a big chunk of land he put his house on, and he has so much extra that he leases a bunch of it to a farmer who grows crops of alfalfa and hay. He gets a hefty check to pay for the use, taxes, etc. He also got an offer from one of the phone companies to put a cell tower on his land as well. Passive income is amazing! It basically set him up to cover the cost of the land and then some nice profit.
I agree with the U shape, since you’re going create a private stage in the middle to shoot your videos. It also keeps you out of the wind and gives privacy as well.
When planning the layout: 1) Consider access to the bathroom by your merchandise helper. 2) The view from your office. It makes a difference when you spend hours in there. 3) Consider adding a laundry area with a separate washing machine for greasy clothing and such. The missus should appreciate that. I expect used washers and dryers can be found inexpensively. 4) That, then, would need hot water.
Suggestion with the Merch Sheds. How about putting the shipping/fulfillment shed on the front pad tight to the wall between the Ford Tailgate and the corner of the 60' shop (since you already have an outlet right there) and put the overflow shed on the new concrete pad with the entry door even with the corner of the 60' shop, maybe extend the cement pad 5'-10' so Nathan can avoid the mud coming around the corner. Once you move everything into the new building (I suggest build 2 floors tall, add 2nd floor later) you then slide the shed back even with the back corner to be used for the `compressor hush house' I also suggest adding a man door (maybe a double wide) to the wall facing the `junk yard', so you dont have to walk around the building or open the overhead doors to go out there for a part or some metal (incase you add Heat & AC)
If you pour gravel and turn the sheds to face the building where you place them on the gravel so you step from the concrete directly in and still keep the usefulness of the concrete you can always use them for parts after the shop expansion
Layout your plan for the new shop on the floor of the old one with tape. May give you a better idea of how big the 30x30 office will be. And if that’s enough for the merch. Also may not want the garage door all the way to the back wall Incase there are shelves on the back wall in the merch area
Puddin! I think your on the right track for sure! Dude your living my dream right now! Dream big!! It aight gonna be 40 years before hit what you were talking about!!
Time to fix the Farmall for mowing that grass
Puddin will be bailing hay pretty soon.😂
Your fine buddy!😊

That’s typical in Oklahoma.
Yes to the Farmall
If you haven’t thought about it, keep in mind a place to do your pressure washing and drainage for that area. Also maybe some kind of shade structure over the concrete area between buildings, it’s gonna get hot in there since it will be sheltered from any breeze.
Just said the same thing 😂

Was thinking the exact same thing. Besides if you're headed to the crapper you don't want to keep traipsing past the rest of the merch crew lol 😆 😂
This is the way. Good idea
Yeah, office in the back. You will probably wanna put in a minisplit AC unit, and it would be hidden in the back. Garage door in the front, to be able to back in the yeehawl to load/unload.
Having the merch up in front will also give more isolation, so noise/music/etc won't carry over as easily for filming
Pro tip...if you want a larger shop you just need to make your trucks LOWER. The ceiling will appear higher and bam...bigger shop.
I think I'd put the merch side at the front portion of the addition. That way if you wanted to go to the office area or restroom from the shop you don't have to cut through the merch area or go outside.
Exactly..plus once youre tired of it being an office..instant extra shop space...lol😂😂
I was going to suggest the same thing
Probably more cost effective, since the concrete pad is already in place.
Make the concrete pad look like an old school, 50's gas station. Big ol' Puddin's Fab Shop neon sign and all! A pair of vintage pumps at the front of the pad would look awesome.
Puddin, just an alternate idea: Put a second floor over the Merch space for your office/gym and keep the front area available for project storage
Now THAT is a good idea!
At least build the first floor with enough strength so that a second floor can be added later. Like when the budget allows it.
I was thinking the same!
Lots of good ideas here, Puddin! But is your vision. Seeing you achieve your dreams it is why we keep tuning in! Stay humble and keep being you. Everyone is cheering for you!

Just a suggestion- get the added space built, but keep the sheds, and use one for an office, and the other for the gym!
Nah, use the sheds for playhouses for the gurls!
Good Idea !

Don't forget if you add exactly the same size building you can add a second story over the top of the office, gym and office for storage

yep office space and maybe a private bathroom on the second level, that is a big bang for the dollar

A second floor in the new building would double your space and storage.
That’s going to be pretty cool… and in between the two big parts of the shop you could put up a big awning so you could do stuff outside with out being rained on or burnt up by the sun
A separate "warehouse" for your merch business would also keep the stuff clean.
Great idea for the shop. Maybe put a bonus room above your office space for a guest room.
You're living the dream Puddin! I'm happy for you and hope your channel and brand expands and grows even more.

One reason you are such a good RUclipsr I feel is because you share so much. I feel that others don’t share enough and just leave you out.
Build yourself a 30'x60' fence to hide those old sheds.
For doing an addition, do a bi-level setup. Keep the bottom for project parking only and upper for all merchandise. Everything stays clean and the rest is for work.
Puddin definitely consider a fire block wall between the shop and merchandise area.

Before you fill up the existing shop you could put tape on the floor to get an idea of what you want in the new addition.
I am so pumped for this! Maybe you could make your office towards the ceiling on like a platform above the shop?
Put the area you use the most in the front and match the garage doors of the current big side. Likely have the merch in front with access for box truck delivery and shipping. If you can make a loft happen, a bathroom and office up top and back gets you even more space. Don't forget a bike rack for Bill and a room for him to crash after a long ride. If you roughly grade out and rock your future project yard you will be happy as well. Make it so it won't hold water. Easier to move the project, less muddy, less weeds.......less maintenance. Best of luck and looking forward to seeing the results. Keep up the great work.
Love the gym idea. Will Bill be able to visit? Did you get the fireproofing figured out? This was one of my favorites.
Transparency is awesome sauce!
You and slick need to partner up together and give him the new extension to work in cheers from the UK 🇬🇧
Slick has his own shop in the planning already, not at puddin's shop!
Like my pap always told me “don’t let the bank smack your fingers off your billfold when you reach in your pocket”
Rules to live by.
Puddin, the man with the plan. That new building addition would be epic .
I agree with the U shape, since you’re going create a private stage in the middle to shoot your videos. It also keeps you out of the wind and gives privacy as well.
You've grown your subscribers. You've grown your views. Grow your physical plant the way you see it. Everything will take care of itself.
Make the extension two stories, extra space sorted!
stay humble!!!!js!!!!!!remember were you started from, you might go back there some day!!!!
Once you move everything into the new building (I suggest build 2 floors tall, add 2nd floor later) you then slide the shed back even with the back corner to be used for the `compressor hush house'
I also suggest adding a man door (maybe a double wide) to the wall facing the `junk yard', so you dont have to walk around the building or open the overhead doors to go out there for a part or some metal (incase you add Heat & AC)
I’ll start watching and liking again when you start doing something😊
Puddin! I think your on the right track for sure! Dude your living my dream right now! Dream big!! It aight gonna be 40 years before hit what you were talking about!!
Good for you! I’ve been adding onto my shop for 40 years
I think Puddin's horse shoe magnet is going to be awesome. Live a little with some bigger windows in that office.
