I am trying to decide between this 4500 VI LL reel and the 6500 VI LL reel. How much bigger is the 6500? Right now they are both about the same price as the new models VII are out. I saw that the 6500's and up have the brass main gears. I'll be putting it on a 7' Medium Ugly Stik Tiger Spinning Rod. I will be fishing for stripers, halibut, and what ever else is in the San Francisco Bay not to mention some catfish in Clear Lake too.
@@Gio-nl7eg can’t remember exactly how much line capacity is on the spool but yes, we have landed many sailfish with that setup. We can always go after the fish using the boat when needed.
@@badrfalgi8469 for that reel model I think rods in the 6’6” to 7’ length and around the 20-30lb or PE2-4 range will match well generally. It may also depend on the type of fishing you will most often use it for or where you’re shopping from. Shouldn’t go wrong with top range models from Penn, Shimano and Yamaga Blanks.
WHAT A RUN!!!! PENN drag sounds great!
Thank you! Nice reel indeed!!
Excellent fishing and video....and great feedback in the comments!
Appreciate you viewing and thank you all for commenting
Wow love the sound of your reel bro
Thank you bro. They are sweet reels.

The size difference is quite a lot. It all depends on the line poundage you’ll be using and how much line you need in there.
Hey bro I would recommend using the casting version of the spinfisher vi 4500 it holds alot of line for those big fish that pull drag.
Thanks. I never knew there’s a casting/overhead version of the spinfisher vi reels.
@@SportFishingAsia it's the PENN SQUALL conventional reels hes talking about
@@Comrade_Akimov can you cast the PENN SQUALL reels very far like a Abu Garcia C3 or C4 ?
What braid size did you use? I would think 20lb would be normal for that size reel, but I think you were using something heavier than that?
It’s 30 pounds Berkley Fireline braid on that reel.
@@SportFishingAsia - Thanks, I thought it would be. I gather a really solid reel but also a bit heavier.
You’re welcome. You won’t feel the weight at this size, perhaps the larger models. Penn reels are often solidly built.
Hey I just got a 10500 vi and I'm new to fishing do you think I could catch some bluefin? I have 80 lb braided line@@SportFishingAsia
@@killstreakz7766 bluefin tuna? Smaller fish sure, not those monster ones. Good luck!
what daimeter line u spool on it and how many meters?
0.011” or .28mm diameter and about 250yds or 230 meters
What island are you near ? Timor
Hi, not sure which Timor you’re referring to, but this is off Kuala Rompin Malaysia.
Nice friend 🎣🎣💯💯
Thank you
Would like to upgrade my penn persuit. Penn battle 3 or spinfisher better?. Any suggestion
We have been using both and like both reels. I think it’d be down to your budget to determine which to choose.
What was the power and rating of rod
Rod rated PE2-4 or roughly 30-50lb
What rod and model?
That’s a Rapala Cruz popping rod
@@SportFishingAsia thanks
Penn is thebest reel
Thank you
What lb braid is on the 4500?
That was 30lb Berkley Fireline braid
@@SportFishingAsia wow so you practically landed that on only like 230 yards more or less

Nice game bro
Terima kasih mas
Can you give me the details of the rod, please
That’s a Rapala Cruz rod. They no longer make them.
@@SportFishingAsia I see, thanks for your response
If you have the experience, can you give me advice on choosing a rod for the penn spinfisher vi 5500, The price does not matter(casting)
