I've seen Robert dance like this in most of the live videos. I think he just does what he feels like doing and enjoys being in the moment. Or he's a bad dancer. XD I know I am, and I'm not much better than how he moves around. But even hearing how he sings in concert, I think he just has fun and doesn't put much stock in to performing in a certain way or even singing the words clearly.
