I've been looking at a few home made bucksaw vids but I think yours is the best specially the way the blade folds into the wood for safety when not in use and its fixed in place only thing you have to do is put the long centre support in and fix the para cord. thanks for sharing.
Super well done. Craft-wise and production of video instruction. I will be able to make mine now, based on just one watch of your excellent instructional video. God Bless.
Awesome. I have built these for friends. I use 21” blades and elm or white oak. I’ll admit to using some power tools. Not on the the next one, you have inspired me. By the way, haunting music, credits go to what artist? Cheers!
Loved the video, gonna rob your idea 🙂just a question,do you have any problem with the central piece, wanting to pop out sideways, when using the saw,,cheers from U.K.
No. When the two ends of the saw are drawn tight, the center piece is quite secure. It took a while to carve and sand the notches that hold the center piece (removing high points) so that it was seated evenly. Good luck with your project!
If you were concerned about that then as a precaution you could insert a little dowel in each end of the centre rod - to slot into corresponding holes in both upright arms.
Caleb Keefer I don’t have the exact dimensions but I started w the saw blade and based all my cuts to work w that blade length. I drew up the design on paper first to get all the lengths worked out then made the cuts. It was a satisfying project. Good luck!

Would you happen to remember the type and dimensions of the wood you used?
