Very good job! About Buffy’s mom, she was a typical 90s American TV mom, overprotective and clueless. Most parents on TV in the 80s-90s were portrayed as clueless to what their teenagers were doing.

Huge Buffy fan here! For anyone who hasn't watched it, you really should. The first season has some rather corny episodes but from the mid-end of season 1 straight on until the end, it's some of the best writing of its time in that genre. The house looks really good! My sister and I were talking about that the other day---of all of our favorite shows growing up, the only house I've ever recreated was Charmed house. This build is awesome.

I think some of the best feedback I've ever heard concerning recreating movie/tv floorplans was "The thing no one appreciates is that these shows choose a real house for the exterior, but the interior is all sets. And with sets, all they have to worry about is that they look nice. No one involved in designing a set is concerned with wether or not it'll fit into a floorplan or into the exterior they chose." It's been about ten years since I've heard that, and it's stuck with me wether I'm watching a video like this or even building my own builds. That being said, I think you did a fantastic job! The floorplans feel accurate for what houses I remember for upper middle class from this time period, and the decor? Simply outstanding! It really does give the vibe of a single mom and teenage girl in the late 90's. Thank you for sharing your creation, and I hope you've had a good summer so far :) P.S. If you're still open to recommendations for builds from TV shows, would you consider Miss Fisher's Murder Mysteries? It's about a rich female detective in 1920's Australia. Her house is gorgeous in the show, and there's some nice shots of the sets including almost aerial views I've found.

Joyce Summers is played as a stereotypical in denial 1990s California parent. She is probably getting alimony from the divorce and runs an art gallery. She's pretty self-absorbed and she moved her and Buffy to Sunnydale to start a new life since Buffy had been labelled a trouble-maker. She doesn't want to admit that Buffy needs help and support. The later seasons, Joyce's character REALLY transforms and her character has more depth and a lot of family dynamics are explored. I would recommend watching "Buffy" the movie, that came out in the 1980s. Its a whole different cast, but gives the backstory of Buffy in LA before moving to the suburbs.
Oh wow I didn't know there was even a movie, thank you for sharing that☺️ That makes so much sense. 90s seems so wild with their characters representations😅 I'm glad she got some sense in later seasons. Although she was getting better in 3rd season two after she was told who Buffy is😊
Not my two favorite things, Buffy and the sims :') this is gorgeous, the vibes are perfect!! I always love your builds, but this is A++++. As for Buffy's mom, I think if I saw like demons in real life, I would find a way to rationalize it... I'm remembering it wrong, they were just wearing makeup, etc. I think this may be addressed later. Also, youll want to fix that guest bedroom later, towards season 5 haha no spoilers, but you'll be glad you left some space there!

Buffy’s mom is odd. The only head canon I have is she is newly divorced, her husband had cheated, and she moved to a new town with a teen who was getting in trouble and with a new job herself. I imagine she was very overwhelmed and emotionally all over the place. Also this is hands down the best version of Buffy’s house I’ve played with in the sims. There is a spinoff titled "Angel" that starts after the third season of "Buffy." In the spinoff Angel has moved to Los Angeles. You would alternate episodes starting with "Buffy" season 4 and "Angel" season one, if you want to do that. Or just watch "Angel" after finishing "Buffy." There are some crossover episodes between the two. I haven't watched "Buffy" in many years. But from what I remember, you did a good job recreating Buffy's house. I'm definitely downloading and am going to check out your other builds.

OMG! You did soooo wonderful job! BTVS is my favorite show of all times. To begin with, the series is a cult, as well as the ancestor of the genre (the main character is not a guy, but a girl and she is not really in distress, but very much kicks the faces of all sorts of monsters!) This series also shows all the stages and difficulties of growing up through the prism of a teenage girl struggling with the world's evil. In general, not a series, but a whole phenomenon for it's time! My favorite seasons are 2, 4-7. Thanks for this beautiful piece of art!

Can you build the Kent Farm in Smallville? It would fit well with the Horse Ranch EP. The yellow farmhouse + red barn, I feel it would be a pretty big project btw.

@@milgemilge381 I mean, I've seen Simmers do builds of the Halliwell house from Charmed, the Kent farm from Smallville, the Swan, Cullen, and Black houses from the Twilight Saga, Wayne Manor, I think one did Bruce Wayne's lake house from Batman v Superman, heck, one even did the McCallister house from Home Alone. But I've never seen any of the houses featured in Buffy the Vampire Slayer
Your build is beautifully done,. And if nobody answered why Joyce was strange,. I dont recall her ever locking buffy's windows,. But if you mean the Ted episode , she was being fed tranquilizers, , i think we would all be acting weird lol, 😅
The basement stairs are in the kitchen. And Buffy's room is at the back of the second floor even in s1 and s2 because she sneaks out her window in both seasons. You did such a good job given that you didn't watch all the seasons. I think there's 2 bathrooms in the house but we only see 1 -- one that we're aware of.
There’s one bathroom but there seems to be a door from Joyce and dans rooms plus the hall. But there’s also occasionally a door between those two bedrooms. It’s confusing AF
@@ohleander02 really? Well with that many people in a house one bathroom would struggle. But it must be in the basement as there’s nowhere for it on the ground floor that we somehow missed for 6 seasons lol

Buffy’s mom is a euphemism for most moms who only had a child out of obligation, making Buffy’s life harder as the “vampires” are symbols of guys trying to get with her just for being a girl, and making her life harder.
There are major errors in the house on tv. Like in the basement there are windows opposite the stairs. But there are no basement windows in the front of the house- opposite the basement stairs. And the upstairs layout seems to make no sense either. Maybe because they added dawns bedroom in season 5. But it should probably be a 4 bedroom one bath house.
nice creation but you got so many things wrong, especially upstairs. Also downstairs there are stairs to the basement basically under the staircase that leads upstairs.
She states ; this build is from the earlier seasons ,. And let's be real that Second floor is wack so, we can't expect it to be perfect . Dawns room is actually the worst , the walls change colors, and positions in the show , the structure outside her door changes too, and we only see her room a few times . I'm sure she's gonna make it look great tho. :)
@@jordanbarnes3314 the way the upstairs is, drives me crazy. I cant figure it out to save my life. That’s why i wanted to see a layout of it. lol. The bathroom connection and the way the Buffy’s room sits. One day it faces the front yard the next it faces the back. 🤪😂
Kind of confused by this build. I literally watch Buffy in full every year since it ended. Ran a Buffy fan page from 2015-2020. I also watched the show as it aired. And I understand being a summer it can be hard to translate builds from tv shows to the Sims. But good try.
What's confusing about it lol. It's really good especially considering it's all Sim only content being used, there's no need for your comment with the "but good try", unless you want to brag about liking Buffy and running a fan page for it just to rain all over this awesome build.
Lol then you have no spatial awareness or understanding of floorplans. There's constructive criticisms, and there's being a dick. Perhaps you should distinguish the two.
@@gregeggeddyed first off there is a door in the back going from Living room into back hallway leading into the kitchen. The entire first floor is a square shape. The basement is underneath the stairs that lead to the second floor. When you go down the steps to the basement the washer and drier are to the left of the stairs. Then there is spike’s bed. The kitchen the dishwasher is to the left of the sink. The dinning room is way to small. And that’s just off the top of my head.
@@GerberDaisyLifeyou need to remember that the house was a set that changed according to their shooting needs, which changed from season to season and episode to episode. She did a very good job creating the spirit of the home within the limitations of the game.

I highly recommend Buffy! The show starts off very campy and over the top, but it really finds its footing in season 2, and just keeps getting better!

@@milgemilge381 I mean, I've seen Simmers do builds of the Halliwell house from Charmed, the Kent farm from Smallville, the Swan, Cullen, and Black houses from the Twilight Saga, Wayne Manor, I think one did Bruce Wayne's lake house from Batman v Superman, heck, one even did the McCallister house from Home Alone. But I've never seen any of the houses featured in Buffy the Vampire Slayer

The basement stairs are in the kitchen. And Buffy's room is at the back of the second floor even in s1 and s2 because she sneaks out her window in both seasons.
You did such a good job given that you didn't watch all the seasons.
I think there's 2 bathrooms in the house but we only see 1 -- one that we're aware of.
There’s one bathroom but there seems to be a door from Joyce and dans rooms plus the hall. But there’s also occasionally a door between those two bedrooms. It’s confusing AF

Season one the inside of the house was used.
As well as many other packs!
There are major errors in the house on tv. Like in the basement there are windows opposite the stairs. But there are no basement windows in the front of the house- opposite the basement stairs.
And the upstairs layout seems to make no sense either. Maybe because they added dawns bedroom in season 5. But it should probably be a 4 bedroom one bath house.
They always tent to change the sets in the TV shows... Which makes simmers life harder :D hehe

Also downstairs there are stairs to the basement basically under the staircase that leads upstairs.

She states ; this build is from the earlier seasons ,. And let's be real that Second floor is wack so, we can't expect it to be perfect .
Dawns room is actually the worst , the walls change colors, and positions in the show , the structure outside her door changes too, and we only see her room a few times . I'm sure she's gonna make it look great tho. :)

Kind of confused by this build. I literally watch Buffy in full every year since it ended. Ran a Buffy fan page from 2015-2020. I also watched the show as it aired. And I understand being a summer it can be hard to translate builds from tv shows to the Sims. But good try.
What's confusing about it lol. It's really good especially considering it's all Sim only content being used, there's no need for your comment with the "but good try", unless you want to brag about liking Buffy and running a fan page for it just to rain all over this awesome build.
Lol then you have no spatial awareness or understanding of floorplans.
There's constructive criticisms, and there's being a dick. Perhaps you should distinguish the two.
@@gregeggeddyed first off there is a door in the back going from Living room into back hallway leading into the kitchen. The entire first floor is a square shape. The basement is underneath the stairs that lead to the second floor. When you go down the steps to the basement the washer and drier are to the left of the stairs. Then there is spike’s bed. The kitchen the dishwasher is to the left of the sink. The dinning room is way to small. And that’s just off the top of my head.

@@GerberDaisyLifeyou need to remember that the house was a set that changed according to their shooting needs, which changed from season to season and episode to episode. She did a very good job creating the spirit of the home within the limitations of the game.
