What helped me knowing where to place passing note was listening to a lot of good music…I would here passing notes and with time I was able to take them and use them in my play. I will do a video on that someday

I have a question. So I on a journey to learning all my keys. I know all of my basics in all 12 keys but I am not as skilled in all of them like I am skilled in the key of f# because that's the key I started In so my question is, when I'm on gigs do I play 12 keys so i get used to it or do I just play f# then use the transpose so that i play skillfully and Impress
This is a good question my brother. It depends with the kind of music you are doing 1 If you are doing jazz music where they give you solos here and there trust me you wanna use the transpose button because its difficult for you to just start soloing in A at a gig(it will be heard that you are not comfortable or you will start to play wrong notes or something) However you can start practicing your chords and solos at home and take your time to perfect them in all the keys then on the gigs you are good to go. 2 If its not a church gig with not too much complicated jerks and chords you can again practice the songs in their actual keys at home then ofcourse on the stage you might sound basic and its fine because with time you will start improving in those keys. 3 Don't mind about people giving you too much pressure to play all keys noooo, take your time and be patient with yourself. sorry for the long message, if all goes well i will do a video of my journey from F#to playing all the 12keys
