That's amazing. Love it when a game can grab a hold of you like that. I enjoyed the original but didn't get round to finishing the story so hopefully I'll enjoy this one. Your story was superb, sounds like you had a blast playing it 👍

I feel like Talion may start to become the anti-hero. His motive in the first game was to defeat the Black Hand of Sauron, which he did so maybe mid-game. The death of his wife and son motivated him to kill the Black Hand, but after that he completely forgot, and in this game it looks the same. It almost looks like Celebrimbor is just controlling him blindly and Talion has become a slave to his power.
Insensible Maverick Talion already is an anti-hero, you obviously don't know what an anti-hero is. Also, the black hand didn't die until the end of the game, if I remember correctly.
I do know what an anti-hero is but I'm not sure if it's Talion himself becoming that person or if it may be under the influence of Celebrimbor. And mid game he did kill the Black Hand, but I do remember a boss fight at the end of the game that may have been another member of that group.
Insensible Maverick Yes, I'm sure you do, but what I'm saying is an anti-hero is anyone who's a hero, kills people, and has a negative outlook on life, which is defanantly Talion. I haven't played the game in a while, but I think that the tower dies mid-game and the hand is the final boss.
I'm not sure if this game is considered canon anymore (because I heard somewhere it is and somewhere it isn't) but if it is they probably need to kill him off since this takes place in between Hobbit and LOTR and they don't mention "The Gravewalker" anywhere. I'm eager to see how this game ends.
Lol. Ikr. Still doesn't mean the game won't be good though. but yes. Tolkien envisioned a 4th book and actually asked his son in his will that if anyone would write a fourth book it should be titled Lord of the Loot-boxes.
They still existed, they were called "DLC" and gamers back then vowed to never buy them to fuel the greedy, greedy game developers. Funny how well that worked out. It's almost as though people will spend their money how they wish in order to have fun rather than appease a strangers political triggers. That's just silly though, every gamer thinks alike. Every. Single. One.
Glad to see IGN telling casuals to ignore the loot boxes. It won't work with everyone but maybe some will be smart enough to listen. I would at least hope so.
As long as developers can make even $1 on post-sale purchases, they're still making a profit that they otherwise wouldn't. They have no incentive to stop.
People complaning about the micro transactions, please try the game once. There is a market in the options menu yes.... but the game Never forces you to go here or even mentions it! Such a shame for a very good game to get a bad name for something you never encounter. Yall parrots. Play the game. Then judge.
Yolo Swaggins Seriously! Compare this with a Ubisoft game that hides 90% of its interesting weapons/outfits behind microtransactions. I have played over 50 hours and have never once been invited to buy something.
This game is trash. The protagonist is boring generic dude and the story is poorly written and executed. The only thing somewhat redeeming is the Batman play style.
No. Thank uninformed and uneducated consumers. MT arent new to gaming. They have been around before the ps2 and even the ps1 eras. Also talking about controversial topics is a good thing. If reviewers skipped it it would have definitely been more noticed than if it was. These comments would be filled with a lot more discontent
Dead Prepper yeah I'm waiting on that one too. Maybe it was on the few online ps2 games??? But ps1 no damn way you could not even go online and it was no DLC back then.
i think they were using consoles as a time reference point for pc games, rather than saying they were on those systems. At least I hope so as Ps1 clearly had no tech nor structure for that. That said, I dont think there were any that far back. Maybe at the end of the ps2 era.
You guys think he's so much more trustworthy.. and why? He's one of the biggest reviewers on RUclips, his content can make or break millions of dollars in sales for these publishers. What makes you think he cant be bought?
I think they made a good point about the microtransactions. I could only see somebody buying them if they wanted to speed up their game progress for some reason, I could understand that in a more grind-ish game, but when the whole point of the game is to kill/dominate uruks, you're basically giving away money in exchange for playing less of what is probably the most fun part of the game...
Probably one of IGN's best reviews in a long time. You gave a balance of positive and negative points, addressed the microtransactions and gave what seemed like a fair overall opinion. Looking forward to playing this game when it comes out!!
matttnathan it's crazy how it's okay for the witcher to be clocked in a 300 hour experience & they were okay with that but Shadow Of War's negative is that it has too much content
Its13reezy that is if it gets goty from any site which might be difficult this year. The price will drop for sure but it probably wont be called goty edition maybe complete edition.
Siddhant Shukla Oh shut up. If Dead Island Riptide can get GOTY this can too. GOTY editions aren't just skipped because "oh look our game is trash." No. They do it anyways because it makes them cash.
Too many other sites are saying the story is a giant bloated mess and has a horrible ending. This review barely mentions the story. Being a Tolkien based property, you'd think they'd take a little more care with lore and story. Instead it's just a giant Orc killing fuckathon
Well they say right from the start that it takes a backseat to the story like the first one did so it shouldnt be surprising that they merely gloss over that. They know the main attraction is the nemesis system so focus on that for the remainder of the review.
yea its the first game x4, and that means the (bad) story too and over the top bias like balrogs and stuff. But I come for nemesis system, not for story
Wow this guy is a frickin' savage. I have never had more fun watching a game review. Everything seemed pretty honest and i have a little more faith in game reviewers now.
Go ahead and stop playing AC, Deus Ex, and Dead Space while you're at it. Get off your high horse, everyone knows you can play the game without even touching the microtransation button. But I guess if your will is that weak, don't buy the game.
RoyalSapphireMods I mean, if you read what he typed, he is exactly advocating against touching the microtransaction button, not against playing the game....
Fantastic game. Great sequel to Mordor. It's like how Arkham City improved on Asylum, better story, bigger world, expanded more with better combat and stuff. Can't wait for the next Middle Earth game Monolith!
Then : watching game reviews to decide wether to get the game or not Now : watching game reviews to hear reviewers saying good things about their favorite game
What is with all the dang hate? It's a dang review with honest opinions. And as for lore wise; The lore of the GAME is LOOSELY tied to the movies. Sure it takes it's own liberty to edit and do things to fit their own stuff which only makes it all the more better in my opinon. I liked this game's lore so far and honestly do you REALLY want a game that makes LOTR look bad again? (Reffering to every OTHER failed attempt of making the movies into a game must I remind you). Bah, no one would listen to the person who is only being honest and not getting triggered over the slightest things.
lol War in the North was great and BFME 2 and the witchking expansion were great as well. This isn't just going around loosely with the lore this is straight annihilation. If you read the books or just the films you should know this makes things way worse not better. THIS MAKES LOTR AND TOLKIEN LOOK BAD!!!
Really? I am pretty sure you played those games then as a child. Replay it and you'll see why. Also I do read the books and seen the films. To have someone being the creator of the Rings is a good addition, Talion isn't generic for once unlike all the other attempts of the LOTR games. Tolkien would actually be GLAD a group of enthusiasts took the choice to make the additions and try to make even more things including trying not to stray TOO FAR from the lore. Also lol? Lol is used in Text Talk. Not a actual conversation between two smart intellects.
As a big fan of Shadow Of Mordor and Lord Of the RIngs series i can proudly say that Shadow Of War is everything that i expected. and the overall rating from IGN is fair. Now about the microtransaction i can say only one thing, no one forces you to buy it, and to be honest it pretty much useless because you can get the coins by killing other Orcs and Uruks and by playing the Online conquest which is a pretty fun thing to do...except losing your Captains... the same i can say for the power ups, i mean i collected like 5 different power ups for my Stronghold and my Captains and i never used them...
"Similar to the way Arkham City built on the foundation of Arkham Asylum, Shadow of War is bigger and more ambitious in scope than Shadow of Mordor with great results!" Shadow of Mordor 9.6 -IGN Shadow of War 9.0 -IGN IGN's rating system is pure nonsense.
My PS-Plus games library becoming a numbers game right now. Not even started last months Vampyr and just had one round on street fight from the month before, but will be having this on download lol
Lol similar situation here. I have so many games I haven’t played but tbh I don’t care as I’m not interested in them. But I still kept it there incase I am. I deleted vampyr after playing it once. It’s alright but not interested. Trey fighter and some other fighting games are just to hard for me.
My biggest problem with Shadow of Mordor was that there was a set amount of times captains could cheat death in one playthrough. I hope they fixed that in Shadow of War.
ffs people here are so stupid. 1 month ago but still, i got this game last week and i LOVE IT. hands down amazing. definitely an 8 or above. THE MICROTRANSACTIONS DON'T MATTER. it's single player ffs it's not like anyone is going to have an advantage over you. The online fortress sieges don't matter, orcs are still easy to kill. The grind is good, it's what makes a game good
TylerMBuller12 they aren't required. They're literally for people too lazy to dominate any orcs or earn gear themselves, plus there's an in game currency that you can use in place of real money that is easily obtained.
Julian May From what I'm hearing from most legitimate reviewers is it's a complete grind fest. Why should I have to grind for something as hard as I have to in a f2p game in a $60 retail game especially in single player. If your a gambler that's on you but I'm not I find no enjoyment in that I like my single player experiences to be micro free. Not like I'm buying it any way so there is really no sense in me arguing about it I just hope that not that many people support this because the last thing I want is my single player experiences ruined as well. The more people support these anti consumer business moves the worse it gets. Pretty soon every game will be as shallow as a phone game. Also from what I've heard the campaign is boring and the ending can only be obtained through these micros so that's enough for me to never buy it. It's a 7/10 without micros but with them it's more like a 5/10 for me.
Julian May Also who cares if you can earn them with in game currency it's obviously going to be more in the buyers favor. It will add longevity to the game maybe through the grind but that's not really a good thing with the repetitive nature of the game. I'm so sick of having these things shoved in my face all the time. I'd rather have them add another $10 to the price tag. It would be well worth it to see these things go away for good.
TylerMBuller12 They are Optional, Micro Transactions are the best I always spend about $20 dollars on them to get the upper hand in weapons and such and it's amazing I Thank and Salute the Game Companies for including Micro Transactions in their games.
The claims being made on various social media outlets are saying there's some colossal bar you have to reach to get the game's true ending. What they're referencing is Act IV: The Shadow War, except the game hasn't ended at that point. There is no true ending because the game doesn't end until after you complete Act IV. I'm not sure how anyone interpreted the events at the conclusion of Act III to be any sort of ending seeing as the plot continues into Act IV unabated. The issue with this whole rumor is that it tries to imply that there's some sort of bad ending and that the developers have locked away content players deserve behind a paywall. That's not the case at all.
I can't believe these "wHo'S hEre aFtEr PS+ AnNoUncMEnt?" comments get so much attention. Who cares? I just want to read peoples opinions on the game FCS
What’s wrong with this world??? People are giving this game a low rating all because of loot boxes and microtransactions in a single player game. Then DON’T BUY THE LOOT BOXES AND MICROTRANSACTIONS!!! I Don’t Care What People Say About this game this game is amazing and I LOVE IT!!!
And these are the kind of people who keep the micro transactions going. If a person offered you drugs, would you take them? No! But the problem is that he offered you drugs! If you don’t want MTs, make a change by doing something! Just look what happened with Battlefront II. They took the loot boxes out because people put their foot down and said NO. If a game has micro transactions, it doesn’t make the game bad, but it gives you one big reason not to buy it. Don’t just “not buy them.” Make a change. Do something to help the situation! And maybe, game developers and publishers will come to the conclusion that we don’t like MTs, and people are less likely to buy a game if it has MTs in it.
I don't know why people saying don't buy this game because it has microtransactions and GTA V ,OverWatch,Metal Gear Solid 5, every single MMO, the new 2k18, Battlefront 2, Injustice 2 and many more games have it and you still buy them. Shadows of War is a fun unique game with the Nemesis system that's even better than the first. Just ignore the microtransactions like I'm doing and enjoy the game because it's really fun
Why would you even bother to include microtransactions to buy loot/gear/experience points, just so you can finish the game quicker? If you want to finish the game quicker. Set it to easy mode where enemies are easier to kill while dropping more loot. And increase the difficulty for those who want a challenging yet fun game to play while also being very rewarding when nessesary. It feels like corperate really stuck their hands up this games arse and forced it in to make some extra revenue. Cant blame them but it really shows disrespect to the people and team behind the game who worked on the game mechanics, making players able to look over most of what they worked on in order to complete the game quicker
Wow. An actually solid IGN review. Honestly this was my Game of the Year last year, and yes, I did play both Cuphead and Hollow Knight, both of which are fantastic.
I will definitely pick this game up at some point, the first one was super addicting once you were able to control the orcs I see this one will be the same at a greater scale looks really fun
the games "five zones" .... uh yeah but a couple months ago they showed off like over 10 "massive" locations scattered across the map. they kept saying how much larger its gotten but in the last couple of months they just deleted like over like 5 more possible locations....
Nicholas Heath when did they ever show off 10? In the very first gameplay demo we see minas morgul, cirith ungol, gorgoroth, nurnen, and seragost. All five which are confirmed to be the 5 regions. Everything else was speculation.
EdgeLord666 Right near the end of the first demo they showed the map and highlighted all the new locations. id say it was about 8 or 9 locations highlighted.
I find it kinda funny that they did the EXACT same improvements I was suggesting them. I missed wargriders. They added Caragor-riders. Almost the same. I missed trolls among the enemy, especially since they were shown in the warchiefs screen on the sides. They added Olog-hai, which are almost the same. And now orcs use Graugs like they did trolls in the movie. I missed the *known* places of Mordor, like Minas Morgul, Cirith Ungol, Barad dur and Mount Doom. Especially since the time period of the game was around the time the nazgul conquered Minas Ithil (Morgul). They added all four of them, even the siege. I missed the nazgul, especially since the protagonist was a wraith-like being himself. They added them. I missed a cameo of Shelob, even if we couldn't storywise kill her. They added more than just a cameo of Shelob.
The Keeper Nope. I don't support greedy companies. My son insist on saving his allowance for it so I might play his copy after him. I refuse to buy it tho.
What you need too understand is if we support this kind of games it will just continue to get inplemented in every new game. Every single game you buy which have microtransictions, you are supporting it even if you dont buy micros. The developers will think their game is succesful and other developers will follow. If you really want the game, don't preorder and don't buy at release, buy it used so those developers think twice when making shadow of mordor 3 or whatever they are planing next.
Thijs Roeterink They are Optional, Micro Transactions are the best I always spend about $20 dollars on them to get the upper hand in weapons and such and it's amazing I Thank and Salute the Game Companies for including Micro Transactions in their games.
I Am The Morningstar Have you ever stopped to try and understand why things are done the way they are? Do you really think everyone out there is trying to scam you out of your money? Don't forget that there are good honest people out there. These Micro Transactions are Optional they are not being forced upon you even Mobile Games have Micro Transactions the point is they are there for anyone that wants to get the advantage in any game and to support the game developers Making Movies and Video Games are not cheap you know.
Steven Miles HDGaming How much of the game is in micro transactions?? Quests and armor? Enemies? Abilities? Game modes? All the features of the game, should be included on the game, from day one. But everyone let dlc packages grow from honest add ons, to withholding parts of the game, to intentionally get more money. And gamers let it happen. Gamers need to boycott Micro transactions.
Then let the publishers deal with the ramifications with second-hand sales. If you want publishers to give a damn, do not accept the stalemate that microtransactions are optional. We all know "whales" (less than 10% of players) will be the majority of these micro-transaction sales. Choosing not to spend them is still rewarding the publisher, so by all means get this game second-handed if you want WB and other publishers to stop.
Grind? What grind? How do you know of any grind in a game no one has mentioned a grind of and that you haven't played? It's almost like you're just bandwagoning.
I already buy and play it,and that game is beyond awesome, you should buy it too guy's,this is absolutely one of the best games is ever made......., GOT!
Idea for a third shadow game: Many many years later after return of the king, some remnant orc tribes are still alive and notably among them is Zog the Eternal. He and many powerful undead orcs, much more powerful than normal undead orcs are in the middle of a dark ritual. You play as an orc that you can fully design and choose the tribe. Your orc Is sent on a mission to interrupt this meeting and kill the cultists with some other warriros, but Zog defeats and captures you and the others, sacrificing them in the process. as part of the ritual, dark magic attempts to retrieve a creature from death, but due to your presence, it goes wrong and retrieves the wrong soul form the afterlife. the green wraith form of talion, pulled from death is brought out and put into the body of the orc. You both go on the quest to kill Zog and let Talion go back to the afterlife. As you go through the story though, you see hints at Dog's plan, and you raise an army to attack his hidden base, but realize it not a camp, but a huge fortress. Zog has been building strength to restore the power of orcs in middle earth again, and his end goal, to raise Morgoth from death once again. You would ally with elves, dwarves, men, and your own army of orcs, some few captains that survived after gallon became nazgul. It would directly transfer your own orcs from shadow of war to this new game. The game would end with a final fight between you, and 1 orc, 1 elf, 1 dwarf and 1 man fighting zog, but right before Zog dies, he whispers see you soon, and says the final phrase to complete the ritual and raise Morgoth. It would end on a cliffhanger and hint at one final game where morgoth returns. This game would be called Shadow of Doom, or Shadow of Middle Earth. It would include all the tribes, animals, abilities and stuff from SOW, but also have new weapons, orcs, tribes, human elf and dwarf followers, mechanics and creatures, including a dragon that you fight, dominate and ride as part of another main storyline. Does anyone have anymore ideas of what would be in this third game?
So what about the absolutely no changes in the dull button mashy combat? That doesnt affect the score at all? Seeing that it is what you will be doing most of the time it should count as a huge negative.
Wulfrix the arkham games were the first to use this type of combat system and they didnt really change anything about it and those games were pretty damn good
ikamts2 preference, from what I know of cup head I would not enjoy it at all and sow will be easily one of my favourite games, it's just preference and opinion
ben hack this is complete, the dlc simply adds extra stories not related to the main story, so the game is complete now, the dlc is just bonus and you could easily not get the dlc and still have the full game, like if they added a couple optional levels to cuphead in a month, the original would still be full

Your story was superb, sounds like you had a blast playing it 👍
Wow, just wow!!
Bro how he gonna betray you like that😓😥
Still a better love story than twilight
Bro the fact that you can just go through something like that is absolutely insane!
I hate how the armor that you’re currently wearing doesn’t go into the cut scenes.
Nicolas Matteo its weird cause somtimes it does. Its so odd
It does when it's not a pre-rendered cutscene, when it's real time render then it shows
That is so dumb including all the rest of you
They should've copied horizon
i agree. i would rather see my hero as he is in-game, rather than seeing a pre-rendered scene that breaks all the immersion by putting them back into their default gear.
This game is so underrated. I feel like people give it hate because of the loot-boxes. But this game is incredible, and in my eyes, one of my favorite of all time
They finally got rid of loot boxes so now nobody can complain about anything
It reminds me of assassins creed for some reason idk why
This is my favorite free roam game ever I can’t lie. I don’t see very many people talking about it and I love it so much.
People who made dark alliance made this game
Alister, it’s my FAVORITE game and I have red dead redemption 2, and gta. Two games considered to be amazing, which they are but I still love shadow of war the most
Who else is here due to the ps plus of November
Ahahah Same!
Same here lol
samee lol can’t wait
Me lol
Hungry for likes I see lol
From what the devs have said, it sounds like they didn't want micro-transactions but Warner Bros didn't give them a choice. This review has a really good point, though. If you don't like a business practice then don't give money to it.
Damm dude that's bad
IGN: sounds like a 9, gives a 7.5
IGN: sounds like a 7.5, gives a 9
Kanoshem yeah I thought the same thing.
Kanoshem I hate ign
I think IGN is working a lot like mainstream news. Whoever pays gets the better review
I’ve been saying this for years.
IGN: “game is wonderful, and I love it, though it does get slightly repetitive... 4.8”
IGN(again) “frustrating game but fun enough moments.... 8.9”
Lol
Please! No one buy the microtransactions.
Lenny Wright if they do they are only wasting money and cutting out a game mechanic
Ryan Harnett That in-game currency costs real money.
well there is both, and the in game drops loads it seems
Karl O'Toole There's two ways to get it, Mirian can be earned by completing things in game, or if can be bought. All the reviews I've read said that you acquire it in a abundance. So there is no reason to buy it.
Lenny Wright I really hope they don't for the sake of gaming.

So true

Jarryd Mahabir you wrong I want to know if the game is good
I absolutely love the hierarchy system, when you die the enemy that killed you (even if it’s just a normal grunt) they will be promoted
Right
I feel like Talion may start to become the anti-hero. His motive in the first game was to defeat the Black Hand of Sauron, which he did so maybe mid-game. I was reading Lord of the Rings the other day and I was thinking, this needs more loot boxes.
huehuehue
Lol. Ikr. Still doesn't mean the game won't be good though. but yes. Tolkien envisioned a 4th book and actually asked his son in his will that if anyone would write a fourth book it should be titled Lord of the Loot-boxes.
And ganster rap. Don't forget the ganster rap.
I LOLd thank you
This game is so awesome I just 100% completed it today and was so happy to see that I could keep playing even after I finished shadow wars!
Well you could playing after finishing shadow of mordor so ???
Wait I thought this comes out October 10th, did IGN just get early copies to be able to do a review?
LevelUpLifting them and a few others were able to play it early
lol
Is this a joke reviewers always get advanced copies
You fr? They’re a known company in the gaming industry. Ofc they get copies early so they can review it for the general public
Lol, don’t need to bite his head off. The guy’s just asking a question.
This was actually a great, well-informed review. Thank you. I also think it's great you're telling people not to buy the micro transactions.
Never buy the micros…it’s how you make them go away.

I remember playing games when there were no microtransactions
Mars Bars that wasn't that long ago, and there are still games out there that don't have any.
Mars Bars I remember when people weren't so sensitive about the little things in games
Every. Single. One.
Benny Banjo yep
Mars Bars and no updates and patches
Glad to see IGN telling casuals to ignore the loot boxes. It won't work with everyone but maybe some will be smart enough to listen. I would at least hope so.
Marvin J po
It doesn't matter. Aslong as these Casuals keep buying the game the Lootbox mess won't stop. Not buying them is irrelevant to the Publisher.
Glad someone actually watched the video lol people don't even realize he said that
As long as developers can make even $1 on post-sale purchases, they're still making a profit that they otherwise wouldn't. They have no incentive to stop.
BRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRT
People complaning about the micro transactions, please try the game once. There is a market in the options menu yes.... but the game Never forces you to go here or even mentions it! Such a shame for a very good game to get a bad name for something you never encounter. Yall parrots. Play the game. Then judge.
Yolo Swaggins Seriously! Compare this with a Ubisoft game that hides 90% of its interesting weapons/outfits behind microtransactions. I have played over 50 hours and have never once been invited to buy something.
Andrew White I played this game for like 200 hours it’s crazy how much fun I had in this game
This game is trash. The protagonist is boring generic dude and the story is poorly written and executed. The only thing somewhat redeeming is the Batman play style.
Morgan state Freshman in your opinion
@@improbablyyourdad8458 if u complain about this story and character then u must of hated RDR2
I dunno, I'll just wait for the GOTY edition of this game just like what I did with Shadow of Mordor.
Whiterun Guard when would that come out?
rico rundatta a few months after. Maybe like.... 3-6 months?
That's what I'm doing! It will probably come out next year. I'll rent it for now and buy GOTY when it's cheaper.
rico rundatta Next year
Pscdub72 that's smart if ur not a heavy gamer but I need new games so I'm just going to play the game without dlc
Microtransaction controversy has had to be part of the review discussion for two games now....Thanks games industry!
No, thank the whiners in the gaming audience who make huge scandals out of anything.
Name me a game in the PS1- PS2 days that had microtranactions lol
Dead Prepper yeah I'm waiting on that one too. Maybe it was on the few online ps2 games??? But ps1 no damn way you could not even go online and it was no DLC back then.
i think they were using consoles as a time reference point for pc games, rather than saying they were on those systems. At least I hope so as Ps1 clearly had no tech nor structure for that. That said, I dont think there were any that far back. Maybe at the end of the ps2 era.
Going to wait until ACG reviews this game
jaydthree1977 same
Smart move right there
Me too... Only source I trust for game reviews!
He'll proably like it
You guys think he's so much more trustworthy..
A lot better review than Gamespot who criticised the game for being too big...
matttnathan it's crazy how it's okay for the witcher to be clocked in a 300 hour experience & they were okay with that but Shadow Of War's negative is that it has too much content
Not accurate
The Keeper that's because the content the witcher gives you for all those hours is actually great gameplay and story telling as opposed to this mess
Robsy john the witcher's gameplay & story is highly overrated neither is groundbreaking whatsoever
Too repetitive. Too much clutter. Which is boring.
Bought the game on winter sale from steam, already 16 hours completed, and there are tons of things to do
I don’t know who this reviewer is, but he is probably the most unbiased, fair, and observant reviewer I have seen on this channel. Keep him.
I will get this when the game of the year edition comes out for ten bucks
Its13reezy that is if it gets goty from any site which might be difficult this year. The price will drop for sure but it probably wont be called goty edition maybe complete edition.
That's what I did with the last. GOTY was like £14 I think.
Its13reezy Ehhh, Destiny 2 and Assassins Creed made a HUGE come back this year. I don't think this game will get GOTY.
Siddhant Shukla Oh shut up. If Dead Island Riptide can get GOTY this can too. GOTY editions aren't just skipped because "oh look our game is trash."
No. They do it anyways because it makes them cash.
Same, literally got the PC GOTY edition for the first one for $6 lmao

Too many other sites are saying the story is a giant bloated mess and has a horrible ending. This review barely mentions the story. Being a Tolkien based property, you'd think they'd take a little more care with lore and story. Instead it's just a giant Orc killing fuckathon
Yeah I'm not really a fan of how much LOTR lore they ditch in this game.
Shadow of Mordor had an equally bad story with horrible ending and boss fight. So if it's as fun as the original game, I'm buying it.
So it's like the first game then.
Love how no one talks about the abysmal controls for the drakes.
Wow this guy is a frickin' savage. I have never had more fun watching a game review. Everything seemed pretty honest and i have a little more faith in game reviewers now.
1 like= 1 less person buying microtransactions
Edit: Wow 400 likes
BTW I will be buying the game myself (Gold Edition) Actually
Eddie Strike i liked because you didn't say "the game"
I expect you to enter people's house and crush their consoles or PC just as they are about to hit "Buy" now.
Eddie Strike ill like, but I'm still getting the game.
Fantastic game. Great sequel to Mordor. It's like how Arkham City improved on Asylum, better story, bigger world, expanded more with better combat and stuff. Can't wait for the next Middle Earth game Monolith!

9.0/10 "One does not simply walk into Mordor"
It's honestly one of the most addictive games I've played in a while.
DerpyGaming And Reacting. "Honest Opinions"
LOL good joke.
Niels De Moor how does anything in this game make LOTR look bad?? I don't get that logic.
Same.

You can't be serious
As a big fan of Shadow Of Mordor and Lord Of the RIngs series i can proudly say that Shadow Of War is everything that i expected. and the overall rating from IGN is fair.
Now about the microtransaction i can say only one thing, no one forces you to buy it, and to be honest it pretty much useless because you can get the coins by killing other Orcs and Uruks and by playing the Online conquest which is a pretty fun thing to do...except losing your Captains... the same i can say for the power ups, i mean i collected like 5 different power ups for my Stronghold and my Captains and i never used them...
Do i need to play the 1st one to play this to understand the story?
No, you don't have to play the first one as they recap the story from Shadow of Mordor in the intro cinematic of Shadow of War.
I know not everyone across the world follow the EPL, but talion's new character model looks so much like Antonio Conte the chelsea manager
I think exactly the same Ahahahahha
"Similar to the way Arkham City built on the foundation of Arkham Asylum, Shadow of War is bigger and more ambitious in scope than Shadow of Mordor with great results!"
Shadow of Mordor 9.6 -IGN
Shadow of War 9.0 -IGN
IGN's rating system is pure nonsense.
Shadow of war definitive edition just round the corner . I am glad i waited . No microtransaction and all the dlcs for 30 dollars .
The grind is good, it's what makes a game good
Steam sale right now; just grabbed complete edition (all DLC) for like 11 bucks
If you're on the fence, now's the time.
Micros in single player = no buy
Steven Miles HDGaming sorry but sarcasm doesn't work in text
I really enjoyed shadow of Mordor so I’ll be getting this game on day one no matter what
Playing Shadow of Mordor on Game Pass. So addicting, really makes me remember why I loved the Arkham games so much.
Sean I'm thinking of getting game pass can u only play the games while you have the pass or do u have it forever
Who’s here after the November PS+ announcement?

Dont like microtransactions?..
Simple, don't buy them....
Gala Yash THANK YOU, everyone is so stupid holy crap
Just ignore the microtransactions like I'm doing and enjoy the game because it's really fun
did you not see the backlash battlefront 2 had? EA lost a lot of money because people refused to buy it but i see your point.
Why isnt this video in 4k60?!
Cant blame them but it really shows disrespect to the people and team behind the game who worked on the game mechanics, making players able to look over most of what they worked on in order to complete the game quicker
if ure here for ps plus I already own this game the definitive edition and its awesome still play it
Wow. An actually solid IGN review. Honestly this was my Game of the Year last year, and yes, I did play both Cuphead and Hollow Knight, both of which are fantastic.

This is one of the greatest games of all time
the games "five zones" .... uh yeah but a couple months ago they showed off like over 10 "massive" locations scattered across the map. they kept saying how much larger its gotten but in the last couple of months they just deleted like over like 5 more possible locations....
Why do the graphics look downgraded from the 1st one or am I tripping?

Wow this game looks amazing! Why aren’t more people talking about it?!

Steven Miles HDGaming WTF? Lol
I thought this game was extremely boring but after I played it it's my favourite game
The game is a fuckin masterpiece. It has that LOTR vibe for real.

Grind? What grind? How do you know of any grind in a game no one has mentioned a grind of and that you haven't played? It's almost like you're just bandwagoning.
Shadow wars was fun as, didn’t even feel like a grind, you’re just saying it’s a grind because someone else said it was.

Idea for a third shadow game:
Many many years later after return of the king, some remnant orc tribes are still alive and notably among them is Zog the Eternal.

It’s dumb comparing other game ratings but people like consistency. So tell me how this gets a higher score than Cuphead
ikamts2 preference, from what I know of cup head I would not enjoy it at all and sow will be easily one of my favourite games, it's just preference and opinion
Cup head is the first actual complete game with no dlc/micro transactions in a while
ben hack this is complete, the dlc simply adds extra stories not related to the main story, so the game is complete now, the dlc is just bonus and you could easily not get the dlc and still have the full game, like if they added a couple optional levels to cuphead in a month, the original would still be full
I wanna get the vanilla edition. Silver and Gold are priced outrageously.
Will I be missing out on A LOT ?
Just finished the Baranor DLC, my favourite part of the game! Definitely try it don't worry about the micro transaction talk, it's irrelevant now
