This was their first big hit. It is a cover of a Joni Mitchell folk song. It became so big that Mitchell herself declared it was now more a Nazareth song than hers.
Nazareth pretty much invented the Power Ballad. They didn’t write “Love Hurts”, but wrote some of the all time best Power Ballads. “Dream On”, “Sunshine”, “Hearts Grown Cold”, “Moonlight Eyes”, “Shot Me Down”, “Place In Your Heart”, and “Busted” are all great ballad type songs. “Busted”, written by lead guitarist Manny Charlton is one us old farmers can probably all relate to at one time or another. 😉 “Kentucky Fried Blues”, “Revenge Is Sweet”, and “Expect No Mercy” are ALL ROCKERS! Take your pick they are all worthy!
Scottish rock gods said him👉 👋🦁
saw them live in 1987 up in my town , Aalesund Norway.......greate concert :)
Nice to see you reacting to a band from my part of the world. Formed in Scotland approx 60 miles from where I live. Dunfermline's own Nazareth. My favourite song by them as well. First time I ever saw them, they were Deep Purple's support band.
Enjoying the interaction between Lulu and Chad. To cute Lulu asking if he had long hair.
Keep up the good work.
It always reminds me of being a teen playing pool in a pool hall as this song is playing in the background back in the day.
One of myvall time favourite bands. Lulu, I'm so glad you did this one instead of their cover of love hurts or hair of the dog. Nazareth was fantastic in concert.❤❤👍👍🤘🤘
Love this song
love all you videos doona your awesome and old school, Kathy your awesome too!! And lulu your just amazing and you have great taste in music ya'll keep it rockin!!!! Much love and respect
Thank you
Top Scottish rockers......supreme gravel voice.
I don’t understand how this band heard the original, and then turned it into this….amazing
Fantastic cover of a Joni Mitchell song. I bought the single when it was released.
Likely my favorite band of all time. I'd say my top three be Nazareth, Rainbow and Montrose. Chad will know all them of course. Now I realize ya'll got a request thing goin' on but that said your missing the heart of Rock 'n' Roll of back in the day. Rainbow w/ Ritchie Blackmore guitarist, Cozy Powell percussion just so many epic songs most reaction folks never cover. Ronnie Montrose also incredible guitar player, was the the inspiration of Eddie Van Halen yet very few ever cover Montrose in reactions. I'd say the other two in my top five would be Black Sabbath and Blue Oyster Cult, both epic bands, could stick UFO anyplace in the above as well. Another band seldom reacted to but their live album is just EPIC.
Great cover
Saw them at the Texas jam Dallas cotton bowl 1978.
Always really liked this song, one of the best covers in my mind, because they changed it up and made it their own. I got to see Nazareth live back in 1981... Good Times!!!
Memories of youth come alive.
great vid Lulu & Chad great song from 1975 they followed this with their 2nd biggest hit Love Hurts but i liked their 3rd biggest hit song My White Bicycle im sure you will check these out
The best band.
Dan McCafferty was such a great and unique singer, R.I.P. !
Favorite songs of mine are "Telegram (Parts 1-4)", "Expect no mercy" and "May The Sunshine ".
Manny Charlton (guitar) died about 6 months before Dan. So R.I.P. to Manny, Dan, and Daryl.
@@markwilliams6394 you're right, thanks. And R.I.P to John Locke († 2006, keyboard 1980-1982), too.
Morning Dew
Good stuff
Hello ladies. Had a request. Celine dion. Goodbye's the saddest word. Song for mother from daughter..this would be perfect for the 3 of you. Love to see your reaction. One of my favorite voices of all time. Keep up the great work. Appreciate you. God bless
I bet chads got the Hair of the dog album. 🙃
I was hoping it wasn't an over-dub, but it was. Still enjoyed hearing it again. Thanks for sharing!
that's the way TV shows usually work
Will you react to Queen live in Montreal, save me. Thank you
Face it Chad , way back then most of us had our hair halfway down our backs , if not farther . I'm thinking this was from the " Hair Of The Dog " album .
From the Loud'n'Proud album.
@@williambevins face it , it's been almost fifty years ago . Thanks man .
@@bobbrinkerhoff3592 I remember it well because the fuzz bass on The Ballad of Hollis Brown blew out more than one set a speakers. Maybe I shouldn't have turned it to 11.
Yezzz indeed man. My hovered just above my ass 😂
Try Broken Down Angel by Nazareth
sorry, it´s not in Australia, it´s Austria...
Seen them in 79 opened for Ted Nugent and yes Chad they were Smooth!
Never got see Nazareth live but! See my Dad was into HiFi and I was maybe fourteen and the equipment was off limits to me but not my brother three years the elder. So one day I took it upon myself to try the system with some my brothers albums. First album I was exposed to was Razamanaz, second one I listened to was Warner Brothers Presents Montrose, third Black Sabbath Masters of Reality and the fourth was Blue Oyster Cult On Your Feet Or On Your Knees Live. Over many years listened to lots of varieties of music but really in hindsight... Sorta hard to peak when the first four albums ever heard were those.
Not really liking the vocal fry/grit or whatever its called.
