MAY 2012..ok...a lot of questions...here are some answers :
the wings are NOT cliped (see that in "tin can, i love you").....i did not trained the crow, i just found it near the woods as a very little bird and no parents seen for over 1 hour...
told the dog (yes, she is old but NOT fat...its a lot of hair...) that we have a new friend...showed it how to fly (no, i did NOT run over the grass flapping with my arms...) wenn it could fly, it was gone for a wile, but then cam back nearly every day for playing and asking for food..(sometimes it brought stolen things from the neighbors and i had to bring it back ;-)
    and YES, i am a bad@ss ;-)

Crows are so smart, the crow even realized it could play a game with the ball all on its own, moving it around and chasing it. Its fun to watch them and see them figure stuff out

Crows are actually intelligent enough to play and do things strictly for the fun of it. That's not really common with birds. It's so cool to watch them hop around and interact with things or each other in fun and creative ways. We once had a wild crow that would play with our old dog. It started with the crow stealing my dog's food and the dog chasing it away, but it eventually led to the two playfully running towards one another. When my dog eventually got tired and laid down, the crow would pull at his tail as if to get him to go after him again. Smart little birds!

They made as much noise as they could until he left their area. They only made the noise when he appeared, and just to test if it was because of his presence they had someone dress up like him and wear a mask of his face and they done it again. The crows recognised his face.

So in a large well maintained avery environment they can probably last beyond 35yrs. I know that people who have free flying pet crows (not something I totally approve of but their can be reasons) generally are prepared for the bird to be around for over 20 years or much longer.

The Corvidea family of birds like crows, magpies, Jays etc. are some of the smartest and easiest to tame. Gray Jays (Canada Jays) hang out on some of the trails I hike in northern New England and will follow people for miles until they stop for a snack and will eat from peoples hand. For some reason they also tend to make the more annoying and frequent noise.

German Shepherds are naturally very fluffy. That’s why I especially love patting them if I see one and it’s friendly. I work in a store that allows pets to be brought in, and one customer has a German Shepherd named Cleo. She’s a lovely girl, and it’s as if she’s in a perpetual state of calm. She lays down on the trolley and, if I’m close enough to her when I scan any items near her, she’ll give my face a lick. She’s a sweet Shep.

-Long slightly downward hooked beak (with the top beak being a little bigger than the bottom) as opposed to the crow's short straight beak (with both top and bottom beak being equally big)
-Completely blue-black (also appropriately known as "raven black") whereas crows have a torso that is brownish grey front and back (at least in Europe).
-Larger in body size with wider wings than crows.
-Makes a long "rock" sound as opposed to the crow's short "caw"
-Keeps head still when making said "rock" sound, as opposed to moving heavily up and down like crows do when they "caw" on the ground.
-Long feathers on the chest (that often spread out when making sound, making them look a bit more like fur than feathers).
      Conclusion: absolutely a raven.

Fantomas612 The reason he walks like a Velociraptor is because he is technically a modnern day dinosaur. Birds are members of the coelurosauria family, an animal group Velociraptor and Tyrannosaurus Rex were also members of. Over time, coelurosaur theropod dinosaurs lost their snouts and teeth and developed beaks. But parts of the bodily build such as hollow bones, a wishbone and three toes on their feet, as well as a fourth hind toe on some birds remain from the prehistoric past. So the video above is actually showing a dog and a dinosaur playing ball together.

I grew up with the biggest GSD you’ve ever seen… he really was a gentle giant. He was my parents friends dog and he was awesome. They rescued a crow when she was a baby, they called her Maggie. And they used to do this all the time, the dog would pick Maggie up in his mouth, she would go crazy and peck his face, but they honestly loved each other… they played like this all the time. Being a child and seeing that, it didn’t massively faze me, but thinking about it now, I realise how special that was… Maggie eventually flew away, but she did come back every now and again. Animals really are so inspirational and a lot of fun. We can learn a lot from them.

crows are THE most intelligent of the bird, youtube is the best way to prove that. You could see them very skilled at using tools. Saw one snow boarding down the side of a tin roof using a bottle cap multiple times, saw one steal an unattended fish that was still in the water using his beak and one 'foot' to bring in the line, saw them manipulate (outsmart) many other animals to do for them one way or another.

I played a game with a big murder of crows (probably around 20) & a single seagull with some food. The crows would dazzle the seagull with numbers & coordination. The crows were all taking turns getting food & the gull wasn't getting anything.
I saved the biggest, meatiest, cheesiest piece for last & gave motions that I already knew they'd basically understand to go along with what I told them out loud "Okay, this last piece is for that guy," indicating the seagull.
I then tossed it & every crow stood & watched & the seagull at that point wasn't even expecting to get it, but the crows stood & waited & let the seagull have the last piece just for being a good sport because they knew the game wasn't fair.
They also recognize certain jokes & will join in with their own version of excited laughter & I've played other organized games with them before.
