I Flew on a Lynx Air... A320?

- For the last couple of weeks, you may have noticed this blue and green Airbus A320 operating out of Calgary International Airport. This plane belongs to a relatively new American charter airline, Global Crossing Airlines, also called GlobalX.
Due to more 737 MAX delivery delays, much like last year, Lynx Air has wet leased this single Airbus A320 for the summer, exclusively for some of their US flights out of Calgary.
This presented a rare opportunity to fly this American charter carrier on a scheduled flight - and I took it!

See if you can book Toronto to Manchester! Air Canada is currently leasing a 767 from Omni International. I've serviced the aircraft a few times and the interior is...unique!

I don't understand why they would serve only water when they could charge for other beverages? I don't think I would want to fly with them!
Same thing with Jetlines & Flair. They currently fly their A320s from Toronto to Halifax and also to Quebec City
I’m booked for a flight from Halifax to Toronto mid August, I’m really hoping that route is still serviced by the A320. I’ve never flown on an airbus plane before.

Yo I just recently flew into and out of Calgary via WestJet from IAH (Houston). First flight for my night in Calgary, I flew economy, we had refreshment service 2 TIMES on a 4 hour flight. The return flight, I was in Premium, and we had a great meal (the plates were plastic or cardboard-like though)
I didn’t even know Global X existed!
The new carrier RedWay, based out of Lincoln, Nebraska, also charters GlobalX Airbus A320-200s.

Alex hi from Stampede your GlobalX (Lynx) LAX short turn around was a great mini adventure will most likely only appeal to lovers of aviation. Any reason to hit an airport and fly somewhere is good enough. Prior to retirement I used to fly at least once usually twice a week for business ya I miss it most think I'm totally nuts. Sometimes I'll just go to YYC and wander around for a few hours then stop off at the viewing area to get my fix. Round that out with your channel and enthusiasm, thanks.

I am same kind of avgeek like you, Alex. Doing many flights just for a flight - because of rare plane type, or direction or airline. Sometimes indeed crazy flights😂😂😂. My daughter suggests you stop at a dollar store for snacks and save a bundle. Over the course of a year those 10 buck here 10 buck there will add up to a free flight 😄😄

Did they do bilingual announcements? How was Canadian customs & immigration on arriving back? They give you any strange looks?
No bilingual announcements but I don't think that's a requirement for foreign carriers (though maybe there's some technicality I don't know about). No issues coming back either lol

My uncle's family was supposed to be on the flight a few days ago. Flight got delayed by 3 days. And the replacement flight got delayed by an additional 2 hours. Don't fly Lynx guys.

Hey Alex quick question for plane spotting on your website for plane spotting spot 2 for 17L arrivals and departures there is a sign when you get to that spot and it says No Tress-passing I’m just wondering if you can still plane spot in that spot?

Good video Alex. Lynx air by this time next year will be gone. They are not making money and people are not flying them to support the routes. The present ceo is leaving soon and the parent company is just trying to make it through the summer season. AVOID if you can but before you go to the airport go to Dollarama and load up on low cost snacks. (Except liquids) This type of lowcost flying is rapidly dieing and must come to an end. People are opting for more ontime minimal cabin service instead of low fare then gouge you air service. Lynx is to much bare bones service. Some Wifi eh ?

This Global X carrier is one strange beast. They also contract with EU outfits with US registered aircraft. How all these low cost carriers can manage it is a real mystery, but then AC is so expensive and service so lousy there is plenty of appeal. As always your videos are excellent, keep it up.

I also flew in and out of gate 209A on Allegiant Air, FSD-LAX-FSD and was lucky to fly on the insomniac jet back home
