It's a pleasant surprise after all the recent Bethesda debacles. Just a good show overall. No spoilers, but most fans will like it. I binged the whole season and it has a great overall storyline. If only Starfield had writers 1/10th as good...
Yeah, that is our feeling so far. 100% the show could be better in many ways, but you can say that about everything. As for game to tv show it's been "good" and the setup for additional seasons is very good. Lets hope they don't break it. lol.
@TripleSLeague For sure could be better, they curb-stomped so much lore. But it also could have been complete trash. My favorite thing is that I get the feel of the games. The sets were mostly awesome. Tons of great actors, good storytelling, costumes, and they didn't go overboard with cgi.
I just finished it this morning and very much enjoyed it. I found myself cheering out loud at key moments. Also spent a lot of time talking about story telling with my wife tied to the show and how well they did with it. I feel we don't see enough of the grey of humanity from Hollywood and it is normally a black and white or the Disney style story. Not that big of an issue in literature but TV and especially movies fall short on story telling. It did leave me with a number questions and unclear elements but we hopefully will get some wild answers in season 2.
100% I'm glad to see the more greyish showcase.
They really nailed the aesthetic of the games and really that's all I was hoping for, the fact that its a pretty good show on top of that is great.
The great war both began and ended on Saturday, October 23, 2077. Fallout 76 is 2102. Fallout 1 is 2161. Fallout 2 is 2241. Fallout 3 is 2277. Fallout New Vegas is 2281. Fallout 4 is 2287. Fallout TV show 2296.
Gets better with every episode! 100% a fallout story like any game. Love how each episode is full hour. So well done even with cheesy fallout stuff. Actual sites and sets not just all green screen. So much better. Not woke.
Absolutely cannot wait for season 2!
I watched the first 3 episodes of Fallout tv show so far and am enjoying it. One thing that I do not like is that ghoul sounds too much like a smoothskin ... It's just a minor gripe though 😊
they hint at super mutants, aliens, caesers legion, deathclaws, mr house...its all their in easter eggs but you have to be very attentive
This show makes up for that Rings of Power trash Amazon put out a couple of years ago...HOPE.
The people they want off and on the list is totally crazy to me

I love Star Wars but i don't trust Ubisoft.
I don't know why Ubisoft don't get more pushback. I mean people went code red on bethesda for starfield being less then good, but they still play ubisoft games... Kinda weird.
Most iconic characters. I agree with most of your musings. Mario and Pikachu are more iconic than Lara Croft, And Shepard should be among the top 20. But nobody mentioned Geralt? That's crushing me.
Never enjoyed Mario. If they'd asked me it would have been Lara Croft. Or all the people who only had a face when I looked in a mirror. I feel you are projecting your own ideas onto other people in another country?
watched to ep4 and so far it's Not bad, Not noticed the woke as much as I thought I might, going to watch some more so it has passed the watchable test
well now finished 8 better than I expected. a few things I will need to watch again but they got the tone right IMHO.
Isolated groups of people over a long period of time would not have racial diversity e.g stuck in a vault for 200 years. Its probably not forced i just dont think anybody ever thinks about this. Its in so many games and movies. But if you try to do an actual portrayal of racial homogeny then certain groups would start complaining anout a lack of diversity because reasons.
News flash, 200 years is 10 human generations max. You can't wash out the black (or the white) out of an initially diverse population in that timeframe. And that's not counting the fact that these are _three_ interconnected vaults trading breeding pairs throughout that timeframe.
For context, US slave trade started in the 1700s. It's 2024, roughly 320 years since.
You're not wrong everyone would be a shade of brown by the end, if they started as diverse... well a pale shade of brown anyhow do to a lack of pepper sunlight. I'm getting off track sorry, but the show does give a plausible reason as to why they are still diverse at least in skin color.
@@erikwulfrik1934 I've only made it to 3 episode by I've got some theories that maybe some synths might be involved. Its fallout and there is always weird things going on in the vaults so I'm not going to let it get to me too much.

the shows ok at best the story but the retcons are horrible and don't work. the cowboy storyline sucks to watch and is boring and makes the present day version of him not hit very well as you know to much about him. the BOS is portrayed poorly in the show and just over all sucks. the vault storyline is pretty good but the vaults are simply not portrayed right as there's diversity in a 200 year-old vault which just isn't possible even with them adding a new person from vault 31 or 32 ever odd year wouldn't make much of a difference. the vault story line though is the best of them as it feels the most "fallout" of the show. the main story line with the girl trying to find her dad is ok but misses the mark in some times. over all the show would suck if it wasn't funny and it has some very good bits like the snake oil guy and the Super-Duper Mart. the shows only propped up by having good bits

The vault dweller is a woman let me know when we get a male vault dweller protagonist. No disrespect but I wanna identify with a male vault dweller as I’m male and play fallout as a male and Dogmeat is a mans’s best friend it just doesn’t work the other way round. To explain further; More and more tv shows has been so inclusive and open to encourage diversity - which is what I want. But to counter that it’s gone to the extreme so much as regular guys just don’t get a look in anymore. The world has become a more lonely place for straight white guys like me - I’m just not diverse enough for world that I used to be diverse in.
Yeah I get that. Lots of shows where main character is off putting. I like this depiction because they seem to have done it right, she's not a mary sue or overpowered without logic and it's far more interesting seeing how she reacts to the horror of the wasteland and yet still tries to be a good person. I like the other two perspectives they have shown as well, brotherhood soldier and ghoul were good choices. "NOT" the story I would have told, but I think it's going in the right direction, plus the ending was fire! Can't wait to talk about it!
Personally wasn’t a huge fan of the “twist” at the end of ep 7 & 8. The overall antagonists motivation was pretty flat as well. Didn’t really like the major cannon development from the show, just because I felt it should have been addressed in a game instead.
The world building was really solid though and I felt like I was watching an actual representation of fall out franchise 9/10 for the show.
That is such a dumb hill to die on. If you feel lonely being a straight white guy, the issue is more personal than it has to do with actuality. Literally the most bad ass character in the show is a straight white guy lol
You say you want to identify with a vault dweller protagonist? The vault dwellers are naive, weak, borderline brainwashed, Ned Flander type of characters. If it was a man, people would be whining so much about how they're showing a weak man, yada yadda.
The show follows three main characters for a reason. Everyone plays the game differently. Some take passive choice, some take action, some are in the middle and the show represents that quite well through the different characters.
Furthermore, you're whining about being represented and whatever. Ok so let's say they made the vault dweller some stereotypical white hero dude. Great. Which other character would you be okay with being a woman?
The BoS squire? Nope, you'd whine about that. The Ghoul? No because it's a cowboy type character and you'd whine about that being a woman.
So they made the naive, weak, passive character a woman and still...whining about it haha
All main characters need to be straight white men then...right? Otherwise your feelings would get hurt.
If you're trying to 'identify' with any of these characters...that's your problem, my guy. It's a tv show for entertainment purpose. Not to be the core of your identity haha
Secondly, to anyone who says "you cant do that anymore", I take the same stance as Quinton Tarrentino. Quinton says "who is THEY" and "watch me"
