Hey all! I'm getting back into the swing of things now. I guess I took some YT paternity leave the last few months. Howeverrrr, I HAVE been writing a weekly newsletter discussing tools, projects, philosophy, investing, the housing market and other topics I find interesting. You can read all past issues here and subscribe if you find it to be your sort of thing 🙂: sendfox.com/AliDymock/campaigns
Good to see you back Ali, hope the family are well. We are also fans of johnstone's paint mixed to f&b colours 👍🏻
Thanks Barrie :) Yeh I've been impressed by it but I find it doesn't go that far. A 2.5 litre tub was only just enough to do two coats on this one wall, but I've not done a proper comparison with any other paint brand.
What was that extended sanding stick thing and where can I get one?! Great job pal.

If you have a painting roller pole with a screw head, something like this may fit: www.screwfix.com/p/sander-head-84-x-240mm/11587
@@AliDymock brill, thanks all!
👍👍👍
A bit off topic Ali , but if you were to build a tiny house , can you do it on pier and beam in the UK ? seems to br big in the US but not here . Any thoughts? thanks
Each to their own, but I was taught to screw in a screwnail into a wall plug by a few rotations and then use a claw hammer (pressing on a packing piece of wood) to pull the screwnail and wallplug out. Saves excavation with needle nosed pliers! :-)
Great tip there, will try that next time!
Hi there,
Nicely done, i like it! Which finish-look did you use for the paint (the Hague Blue) ? The Estate Emulsion (matte) or Estate/modern Eggshell (shiny look) etc?
It was the matte emulsion, it's really nice and I used it in our bedroom too ruclips.net/video/24oDh03Yuqg/видео.html. The only issue with the darker paint is that that even brushing it with clothes etc seems to leave a smudge. Fortunately as I've done a desk all the way across that's not an issue now.
Nice
First !!!!!!! Finally !! Cheers Ali 😁
😂😂Hope you didn't stay up waiting for it my man.
@@AliDymock How could I ? Didn't know you would be uploading a video when you did 😉
Well, that's one more thing off my bucket list.
All good things do come to those who wait ! 🤗
@@AliDymock Love that little jig @ 1:20. You should do that in all future videos 🤣
Nice colour on the wall. Would never have thought to select that shade. Have made a note for my next decoration phase.
@@pkini99 Yeh it's a pretty adventurous colour for me but very happy with it. It was a close call with Stiffkey Blue: www.farrow-ball.com/paint-colours/stiffkey-blue
Is this a new house (that needs a garden room)?
Indeed it is and yes it does - next Spring!
Another garden room build! Looking forward to that series!
