The amount of work it took to place those giant rocks all around a structure had to be enormous. I'm glad it wasn't me that had to do it. But that room with wood panels probably looked beautiful. Love these installations. Thanks HH and EE 😊
Thank you for all your hard work, researching, traveling, hiking all over and sharing with us WWII history. I loved "walking" with you thru the bath house and bunkers, etc... Thank you for showing us this site, touching history has been amazing to see. Good job EE and HH! Can't wait to see part 2.
Thank you EE for finding this amazing location. The effort involved in placing those massive rocks around all those bunkers is just mind numbing. They certainly intended to have full protection on that island. I love the fact that the locals are fully into having the island open, to everyone, and look after it accordingly, without going overboard on the safety aspect. It's places like these that help spark the interest in the future generations of History Hunters and Eagle Eyes! And just love the fact that you guys found those ceramics, that's been laying there all this time. That was an incredible find. Theodor Paetsch started making ceramic stoneware back in the 1840's near Frankfurt, and specialised in making quality, affordable, kitchenware, so it's not surprising some of it ended up with the troops on the island. Cannot wait to see what Part 2 brings us, from this very special location. Cheers to you both! And thank you for sharing!
yes it is almost unreal to see all those rocks there. So much work involved. We always look around and sometimes there are pretty cool stuff laying around. just a matter of spend some time out there. Thanks so much and greetings from us :)
Great location EE. Nothing like a huge chunk of granite sticking up out of the ocean. That this place is still intact, with the exception of age is just marvelous. Good video HH. Waiting on the 2nd part. Stay safe and well.
EE loved it and we thank you so much my friend for your incredible support. We are out on tour and working hard to bring back greatness. Thanks and greetings from us.
EE you did an excellent job finding and researching this island. The amount of work put into the bunkers is something else. Thank you for the tour and I can't wait to see part 2. Take care and stay safe my friends.
Yes EE worked so hard with his research and so glad for that Allen. this is a very special place and we shall share more from here soon :) Greetings from us and be safe out there.
That is so very kind of you my friend and that will for sure come in so handy in future explores. Very kind of you and we send our greetings to you. Be safe out there and keep smiling :)
This was amazing! They really utilized the rocks in the munitions storages. It's nice to see the bunkers open where we can go inside. Thanks for taking me along. Take care and stay safe. 💖💯
A stunning location!!! Great research work EE and resulted in some much history you could touch. The camouflaged structures in the terrain looked just like rock outcrops in the mountains side - typical excellence from the German engineers. Fantastic to be able to explore freely on the island. Thank you HH and EE, I look forward to Part 2 ❤
It seems EE is a great historian and researcher, as all of the locations he's found have been absolutely incredible. This one is a real corker, as they say, with a full installation still pretty much intact. I'm not quite finished the video, but I did want to note before I forgot, that I did see a number painted on the wall of one of the bunkers. It is number 16, in the one which has all of the iron doors intact (an amazing thing to see in itself). I did want to say that the wood paneled bunker is fantastic, and even still has shelves and the metal sheeting for the bunker oven. This gives us a means of seeing what the room looked like during the war, which is both rare and fascinating for me. Thanks again, and all the best to you and EE 🙂
I get excited seeing things that many people think nothing about. Before you mention it I said the switching station for the narrow gauge rail road is still there. Just watching your videos has my eyes actively searching the screen trying to take as much in as I can. So happy that the people in this area are allowing others to see and explore the history that is there. It’s so interesting to see what it took to build these locations and to see how well many of them have survived.
Oh my gravy!!! The amount of work to construct those "rock/bolder" bunkers just blew my mind away. The thickness of some of them, HOLY TOLEDO!!! I still can't get over that.....wow.. To have the original doors and the wood in some of those bunkers is nice to see, as well. Glad the locals haven't destroyed or defaced them. Did you happen to find a complete "plate". It was awesome to see that dish dump; original time era of the Germans???? SOOOOO looking forward to seeing part 2. Definitely love this island!!! Until then, my friend...
yes that is pure crazy builds with all that rock plastered on them. No we did not find a complete place there but who knows next time :) Thanks so much :)
Wow!What an astonishing location ,once again EE,s research has paid off.Absolutely mind blowing the amount of granite used to protect those bunkers. Also hope you find the rest of that Kriegsmarine plate,it would be cool to see it whole again.👍
Nice location that one! Well done E.E on your research and finding that interesting and intriguing island. Keep up the excellent work History Hunter team ❤
Glad the locals take care of the place and allow people to visit it. That must have taken a lot of work to build those structures with all those large rocks. Shame at some point in time they set fire to the inside of that one bunker. Would've loved to have seen what it looked like originally before the fire. Loved the ammunition storage building and the rail system that they used to move the ammunition. Great find Eagle Eyes and I'll be looking forward to part 2.
I am amazed to see all the stone work there and have never seen it so intense anywhere before. Great details around that area and will share more soon. Thanks so much and be safe out there :)
It is wonderful that this German WW2 historical site is kept up and open to the public. Thank you EE for researching this area and bringing us there. The idea of windows painted on the huge ammo bunker was ingenious. The mess hall bunker was well laid out. The German soldiers would have been well fed there. Fresh sauerkraut, meat, and potatoes 😋. Bunkers were well camouflaged using the surrounding environmental resources. Did you happen to find all of the pieces for a complete Frankfurt proclain plate? Very interesting place . Looking forward to part 2. Oh, and EE don't go stepping on your Dad's hand as he needs both for future explores. ❤
Hello History Hunter and Eagle Eyes , really enjoyed this video and as you know all your videos ... Rail was used for so much in our history, what I thought was amazing was from the ammunition bunker to where they needed to take the rail up such a steep hill. This must have been very important for them to often risk so much .. I can't wait to see where they are going with the tracks and look forward to seeing the next part. Thank you so much for both your support and for sending viewers to our channel , we really appreciate it .. thank you both .. Bridgette
Hi HH and EE, really interesting, looking forward to the second part. Although it was burned out, it's cool to see the wood on the walls and floor, I've not really seen that before. I'm going to find some pics of what the bunkers were like when they were lived in. Also subbed to Lost in South Oz, it's nice of you to share other channels to : )
Great find, when they built some thing , they built it very strong and to last. Very impressive , would have been nice if you could have found a full plate Thank you for sharing , stay safe !!
Never ceases to amaze me how hard work went into concealing these bunkers, unlike Normandy where they just built them and they sit there. The Germans really knew how toi use the natural lay of the land to help them. Cannot wait for the next part of this video. Well done on all the reasearch EE, you have done an awesome job for us. Stay safe and well my friends
Another fantastic location with very interesting structures. I was pleased to see they were in pretty good shape and have not been too damaged over time. I am just blown away by the huge rocks that they placed over the concrete. Thank you for taking us along with you!
Very very nice location. I can understand what you meant by touching things. Someone touched that bucket 75 years ago. If I lived over there I'd love to walk into the history of all this. It's the feeling you would get that many don't understand.
So much to see at that WW2 historical site. The locals there seem to have gone to great measures to preserve. Amazing that it is open to the schools and all of the public to see. Right your are HH, you touched yet another piece of history when touching the metal water bucket once carried by a young German soldier. It is sad that the wall in which the German soldier had written a poem with his K98, was removed at another place you explored. I was hoping that maybe they took it to a war museum or to someone who would cherish it. The enamel wash bin was cool. I hope you were able to find all the pieces for the Luftwaffe porelain plate. Thank you so much, EE for all your hard work in organizing this for us. Much appreciated. Looking forward to seeing the gun positions and tunnel system in P 2. 💕
Would love to see these places like in 1935. There must have been stones everywhere. Have watched so many of your videos and it still just boggles my mind how much stone is used in a majority of these places
Hi history hunter and egale eyes i think they put tons and tons of rocks on all the ammo bunkers to hide it from the allies so if they ever attacked the place it just looked the mountain and be harder to destory
That is very kind of you my friend and it is greatly appreciated. Will come in very handy in future explores. We thank you for the kindness and send our greetings from us :)
Awesome! Grab me a peice of wood if it's on the floor lying around! Would be cool to have a peice of bunker wall. Apparently someone else thinks that if they took the entire dang wall. Geez
If it was on this video i can not see them. If for the Lost Documents Tour we have you on our list my friend. Thanks so much for your great support and greetings from us :9
Great job, EE. That is an awesome location. Thank you for sharing it with us.

So appreciated Cindy and we send our greetings from us :)
you know its going to be a good video when it starts with the flashlight staring down a flight of stairs into a bunker
He he , there you go and you will love part 2 even more. Thanks :)
That looked like a coal bucket. Probably used to feed the bunker ovens.
Thank you EE for finding this amazing location. The effort involved in placing those massive rocks around all those bunkers is just mind numbing. We appreciate so much when one can go around and inside. So much to learn that way. Thanks Julie and more to come :)
Thank you for sharing my friends
Thank you too

yes they are so well built and by using all that rock it is almost impossible to see them from the air. Thanks so much Beverley :)
I can’t believe how much work went into building these bunkers amazing. Thanks again for another awesome video and history lesson.
Glad you like them!
What a view ! This location is frozen in time , good work EE , you found a gem.
Many thanks!
Really super bunkers. Love the rocks disguising them. Beautiful harbor. Looking forward to part 2!
Coming soon Stephanie and hello from us out on the tour. Thanks so much :)

awesome video. ty
You would think with a location like this, it would be rehabilitated for an attraction of history.
Well it seems like most if it is just laying there to be visited. Thanks.
Awesome! Grab me a peice of wood if it's on the floor lying around! Would be cool to have a peice of bunker wall. Apparently someone else thinks that if they took the entire dang wall. Geez
He he , well it is a great place to see and very glad we could share that. Thanks my friend and more to come soon :)
