Don’t mess with the Star Trek Picard ending. It wrapped everything up amazingly and gave us the send off we needed. Anything else is just milking the past for the wrong reasons. Give us new characters to love, new stories to embrace and a future to be hopeful about. I loved TNG, I loved Star Trek Picard season 3 but Star Trek needs new adventures with a new crew to take us forward.
Season 3 of Picard proved that none of us are done with Jean Luc Picard or the entire next generation crew. So, Yes, there should be more movies and a show to continue that story.
But I don't think they will continue that story. It's likely going to be more of the poor writing and confusing storylines that you got in Season 1 and 2.
Now they have Terry Matalis who has proved himself worthy enough to give us what we want. Hopefully Alex let's him take charge of Picard and his story and we can get something awesome. I doubt it would be like Picard Season 3 but that was a once in a lifetime special event. We can still get something phenomenal if They give Terry the reigns. We don't want Star trek Legacy. I thought S3 of Picard was an excellent epilogue to their story. The closing scene with the crew, with the classic outro theme... I don't want another bad ending to ruin it. It was a far better ending than the previous movies, and I'm concerned that without the right people at the head (or even with it), we will leave the TNG crew on a sour note again.
I disagree. I for sure want to see what happens to Data now, I'm also very interested in Geordie and worf especially and I think with The same crew as S03 Picard we could get another great story out of Patrick Stewart because to be frank He is ripe for the picking and his time is unfortunately coming and day now so we need to get another story in with him before he is room temperature.@@godminnette2
I'd want to see the return of The Sisko. Could be onboard the Enterprise G (serving as more of a second backdoor pilot for ST:Legacy) and could easily feature Janeway (pretty easy to make a natural feeling connection since Seven is Captain) and Picard as he was shown to have the reckoning stone in season 2 of Picard. Since it's connected to the Par Wraiths, it can easily be linked to Sisko and the Prophets. This way, we'd get all 3 Captains from the 1990s together.
Another option: a crossover of black ops and picard as a pilot for legacy. It could be a story involving philippa georgiou teaming up with worf regarding the aftermath with the romulans. Q is involved. Picard is helping jack and the enterprise dealing with Q. Characters from voyager (tuvok) or ds9 (sisko) might be a part as well. The movie could be a starting point for a legacy movie focussed on the old topics, like romulans and Q (except there will be no borg). The benefits: - paramount will only have to fund 1 movie, - its an interesting story, - it ties up many lose ends in the current star trek universe and brings a bit of order in the current chaos, and - it leads to the much awaited legacy series.
I'd love a thriller/detective story involving Seven and Picard. Something goes wrong with a diplomatic mission on the EntG and Seven is put under court martial but Picard knows this was sabotage by an old enemy. Have Jack and Raffi be the ones doing the action while Picard and Seven do the court scenes
Personally, I would be much more excited about a Picard series being created - or one including Picard - that has the LOOK and FEEL of the original TNG we love and miss. I didn't hate Picard the series - it had some good points and some bad ones - but the main problem for me was that it was so radically different from the series we loved in almost every way that this character came from, that it was like NOT doing that character but some new one. The movies had a similar issue, but I realize they had to justify the much larger budget etc in that case. One season of a Picard interacting with people who have come through the show over the years* would be good enough for me! * - Moriarty (not the hologram they cheated us with in Picard S3 but the actual one "living" inside that portable holodeck) - That scientist lady who stayed behind when her people were not ready to accept warp capable Starfleet (TNG episode called "First Contact") - Rassmusen the fake time traveler who was discovered and taken to a starbase - Tons more over the years. Or maybe Picard time traveling 1000 years to the planet he lived 40 years of his life in, virtually. Actually meeting the REAL people there before doom strikes.
I cant help myself, even Lower decks has more of the old vibe then Picard had.... its this action focused, gritty look all shows nowadays need that just turns me off so hard...
@@BL33NBThis happens a lot too. When studios want to capitalize on some popular franchise, they seem to say to themselves, "Okay, how can we take this show that had this, this, this and this and then completely change it so it has none of those things? @@Ash_Reinit doesnt have to end, it just doenst have to turn into shi###, being extra gritty and all... it used to be about having a better future, even if things arent perfect...
Fresh off the back of watching the entire Next Gen series, the 4 Next Gen movies, and all 3 series of Picard (took me nearly 5 months!), and all I can say is....I am all for it! Let the man have the ending he wants.
I was watching my box set of I Claudius: Stewart did a great job of acting as Sejanus, the chief secret policeman of Tiberius. A truly despicable character, that Stewart played masterfully. (The whole series is worth a look if you have an interest in Roman historical drama)
I can't put my finger on why this is exactly, but I'll be honest; I lost any excitement I might've had for a Star Trek Legacy series when they changed the name of the ship for Titan-A to Enterprise-G. Keeping in mind that the "Legacy" talk started when there were still 3 episodes to Picard Season 3. When I thought it could be Shaw and Seven and Sidney on the Titan-A, I was in. When Episode 9 was over and I thought it would be Seven and Raffi and Sidney, I was in. Then they revealed the ship's name change and I just went "*sigh* Yeah, no, I'm out."
Would love to see them focus whatever’s next on the Romulans. Also, bring back Narissa. In my head cannon she definitely survived the fall and is plotting Romulan-style revenge on Seven.
We open with Picard sitting at a table, sharing tea with Dr Crusher. Laris walks in and sits down next to them. They're all talking, Picard asks Crusher if she's heard from Jack recently. Then there's a chime at the door. Laris goes to answer, and comes back in very quickly. Followed by Commander Ro. "Ro, what are you doing here?" Picard asks. "There's been a development out near the Cardassian border. I need you." STAR TREK: PICARD The show could involve Garak, leading a new Cardassia, and petitioning for admittance to the Federation. Bajor is against it, and any remaining Maquis are, too. Picard and Ro go back to DS9, meet up with some familiar faces, and it takes off from there.
(with the understanding that I'm not up to speed on beta canon) I think one pretty massively dangling thread out there that ties well with Picard....what happened to Sela??? I'd love to see Denise Crosby reprise her role as the antagonist in a Picard long trek.
And Romulan Senator Vreenak ... the one Sisko had murdered to frame the Dominion, to convince the Romulans to join the fight. Even a shattered Romulan Empire, even decades later, would find enough rage to start a war if they were to find out. And Sela would LOVE to be the one to lead them.
Did no one else read his memoir? In the final chapter he talks about this. The only reason he's even open to a movie is because he didn't get the final scene that HE wanted for Picard S3, featuring Picard content and happy with a home life, and a woman call's him inside, to be voiced by his real life wife, Sunny.
If we are using open plot points then personally I would love to see something that explains away WT photo's happened at the end of PIC season 2 with the new Borg and that transwarp conduit, as the closest we have is the current mission storyline in STO.
What do I want from a Picard sequel long-Trek? The only thing I truly want -- besides a decent Trek story of some type -- is an opening with Jeri Ryan intoning "Space -- the final frontier. These are the voyages of the starship Enterprise -- her continuing mission: to explore strange new worlds, to seek out new life and new civilizations... to boldly go where no one has gone before!"
The Borg are never done - and I don't say that as a tired exasperation! I mean that as I can't wait to see the next really insane, wild, and thoughtful implementation of their story!
It would be amazing if a moving could truly bring it all together. Enterprise, TOS, TNG, Voyager, DS9 - the original timeline shows. While I love the new shows too, those were the shows we grew up on. Some massive wild adventure that brings together all the captains - while they still can, while they're still alive. Achieve what they tried with Generations.
Being a Trek watcher since it started, I've heard "rumors" before, even right from the (a) Captain's mouth, but... I've learned to temper my expectations and be patient. IF there is a movie what would I like to see? As many regular cast members, (Original, NextGen, DS9, Voyager, Enterpirse, Discovery, SNW, and even Prodigy,) as possible. (Admiral's Sulu and Checkov? Yes!) ("Q" always) and I think the "villains" should be the Romulans. As always thank you so very much for the videos. Imagine, through illusions, Picard and friends are brought to Talos IV were they encounter Captain Pike and alerted that the Romulans have teamed-up with the Na'kuhl and pose a threat! Pikes information leads to Picard encountering Trip Tucker, who DID NOT DIE and he leads a team to deal with the crisis...
Picard has had his day, time to put the old man out to pasture. If there is a movie coming, then it should be set around Strange New Worlds or a feature length Lower Decks.
It still feels like Star Trek is looking at the temporal cold war with hunger eyes and I'd be happy if they finally ended the nostalgia era of Trek with like a trilogy of long Trek's telling that story, bringing everyone who is willing back and having their big End Game moment. *As long as after we can get a new cast in a new era without all the baggage.
I suspect that Paramount might be more inclined to do a series of Long Trek films for streaming instead of a Legacy show - I think their silence speaks volumes since they have already committed to the Academy series and SNW (not forgetting LD). I think a film with Picard will happen, I think it needs to be soon, and it could be set up in a way that could allow for a set of films (trilogy?) featuring legacy characters.
I would like if they do on a side stand-alone movies set in various Timeperiods plus some trilogy if they want. And on the other continue the Kelvin timeline and hire someone to build a plan like the MCU and do a cinematic universe of it.
At first, I wasn't hyped about it. But there is an unfinished story. And while I figured it would be a perfect jump point for Legacy, I can see where it could happen. And we'd get more Orla Brady as Laris. The Sela storyline. And with what happened in Picard Season 1 and Season 2 with a Romulan graduating from Star Fleet Academy, it's very possible that it would garner the attention of one of the deadlier Romulan foes.
Fanfic is like this. Once a show has success, more content gets generated because passion for the story is ignited. But getting the project off the ground also means that you need influence and talent and time and resources. All that is actually not easy to attain. So i am sceptical. Let's just hope that the current series of shows finds much success that convinces the executives greenlight.
Another Picard film! I love it. I love many of the shows and certainly a Star Trek IV with Chris Pine and Zachary Quinto and Karl Urban sounds just as exciting. I must say, how would you cross those over? There is no Vulcan! I cannot see how that can possibly work? I’m not the norm…I don’t at all like the “opposite” universes or any of that. But Patrick Stewart in a new Star Trek film? Yes! I’d love that. Good news indeed. No, I won’t hang my hat on that. Patrick Stewart is 84. I am perfectly realistic about older actors. I’m 55 (56 in just two and a half weeks), so many of my favourite actors actresses have died or are beyond acting from physical or mental or both problems. I’ll leave the plot story to the writers! Thank you, Sean Perry. Peaceful and warm and healthy 2024!
A few years after Picard finale... Sela wishes to rebuild the Romulan Star Empire, theres a huge battle between the Free State (Laris is on the Free State Council) and Sela's fleet, since Sela's flagship is overpowered (thanks to Borg technology) a Federation fleet under Picard helps the Free State, the battle destroys the Enterprise-G...yay, but in the end the good guys are victorious; we then see the next Enterprise in mid-construction, which will officially lead into Legacy.
Possible topics: -Return of Sisko with Picard on a archeological discovery 🤷🏾♂️ -A time traveler with the return of Enterprise B -Saving the Klingon empire with a massive war (possibly return of Martok) -Return of Species 8472 and the Hierogen -Not trying to do a multiverse plot, but 🤷🏾♂️ -A renegade starship committing atrocities across the quadrant
I think that frustrating silence from Paramount is because they seem to be in financial trouble, and I believe they are looking to sell the company. I could be mistaken, but the movie sphere news lately seems to suggest it. Probably no big moves until the dust settles? Love the content! Cheers!
I would love Star Trek: Galaxy by Red Letter Media. It could start as a movie with Picard in it but then Picard disappears in time and the crew of the Galaxy have to travel true time to save him. Picard would show up at the end of season 1 to reveal a bigger treat of the Galaxy. At the start of season 2 Picard would end up back in the 25th century but it is different. Picard would tell the crew of the Galaxy to find out what was happening and why people and things had changed in the 25th century. Picard would stay behind to give the Galaxy time to get away. Patrick Stewart would not need to do much in this show but Picard would still play a big key role in the show so that might make everyone happy including Stewart.
I love Stewart but just let it be. The first two seasons of the Picard show were really rough but they managed to deliver a good final chapter with season 3. End on a high and don’t risk messing up the final impression.
I would like to see Picard, Laris, and the Romulans. With Picard being an artificial lifeform with a soul of someone who did everything he could to save the Romulans, he could end up healing their society. Or something.
Well we know that full Reunification with the Vulcans occurs post-Burn, so having Picard and Larys set the stage for the Romulans becoming significant enough galactic powers for that to eventually be beneficial to Vulcan would be interesting
I feel like a Picard movie could be a great way to tie in Next Generations, Voyager and Deep Space 9, could even be an ideal way to bring Sisko back from the Prophets
For a long trek... or maybe a short 4 or 5 episode series... an adaptation of the concept of the "Captains Table" books. An episode from each of the major Captains... 1 episode per captain, 1 story, 1 episode, maybe drawing on a piece of back story from their series'. Each one could be told in a different style...Picard at the academy, what was boothby talking about when he said "everyone makes mistakes".... etc, etc.
A Picard movie would be a great tie up to end the Picard story proper (just thinking of age wise) but the only thing I could think about is that I dont know how there could be another Kelvin era movie without their Chekov in Anton Yelchin, they would need to definitely do something good to remember him by.
I agree with the notion that Picard's story is done. His character has had 3 finales now (All Good Things, Nemesis, Picard), we don't need another. Any time/money spent toward such a project would now be better served doing something fresh, or at least away from Picard-centric. Legacy, an Ent-F production, giving DS9 some live action post Dominion War love, etc.
I think that a new movie about Picard would make no sense, we already said goodbye to Picard in Picard show. BUT if his role is secondary and the new movie is the introduction of the new show Star Trek: Legacy, with the enterprise G, captain Seven and so on, it would be awesome.
Star Trek: The Wrath of Laris would be a great closing for Jean Luc's story to be honest

Give us new characters to love, new stories to embrace and a future to be hopeful about. I loved TNG, I loved Star Trek Picard season 3 but Star Trek needs new adventures with a new crew to take us forward.
An entirely new crew, no crossovers. Let it stand on its own.
We want Star trek Legacy WITH TERRY MATALIS. @@ki5aok
¡Gracias!
From Perú!!!
I've got that jacket too but blue instead of red. With some admiral braid added. Cool. Live long and prosper to you too.
Avery Brooks return to that role would be frikkin epic!
And since Voyager began at DS9, it makes sense to tie that all together.
And Cirroc Loftan as an adult Jake Sisko
@@sherpajonesexcept Jake never joined Starfleet - he's a journalist.
To see Avery return as Sisko would be so cool
I personally would love to see a titan movie, set on Rikers Titan.
Me too, but Riker is now too old and I don't want another actor for Riker.
I want my Starfleet: Starships series
Another option: a crossover of black ops and picard as a pilot for legacy.
It could be a story involving philippa georgiou teaming up with worf regarding the aftermath with the romulans. Q is involved. Picard is helping jack and the enterprise dealing with Q. Characters from voyager (tuvok) or ds9 (sisko) might be a part as well.
The movie could be a starting point for a legacy movie focussed on the old topics, like romulans and Q (except there will be no borg).
The benefits:
- paramount will only have to fund 1 movie,
- its an interesting story,
- it ties up many lose ends in the current star trek universe and brings a bit of order in the current chaos, and - it leads to the much awaited legacy series.
Star Trek Picard: The Search For The Enterprise-E would make an interesting subplot.
* - Moriarty (not the hologram they cheated us with in Picard S3 but the actual one "living" inside that portable holodeck)
- That scientist lady who stayed behind when her people were not ready to accept warp capable Starfleet (TNG episode called "First Contact")
- Rassmusen the fake time traveler who was discovered and taken to a starbase
- Tons more over the years.
Yeah! Let's do it!" and then the fans are disappointed and the studio wonders why.
@@Ash_Rein Sure but if it looses all we loved on it, its not our show anymore..
@@Ash_Reinit doesnt have to end, it just doenst have to turn into shi###, being extra gritty and all... it used to be about having a better future, even if things arent perfect...
I need the entire sttng cast for this.
Fresh off the back of watching the entire Next Gen series, the 4 Next Gen movies, and all 3 series of Picard (took me nearly 5 months!), and all I can say is....I am all for it! Let the man have the ending he wants.
Picardy love of archaeology would be a good way for him to go out and maybe a revisit with Vash.
Totally on board for a Picard movie - also, “The Wrath of Llaris” made me laugh out loud. 😂
I need you."
STAR TREK: PICARD
The show could involve Garak, leading a new Cardassia, and petitioning for admittance to the Federation.
I'd love to see a series with Jeri Ryan and MIchelle Hurd. "Captain Seven" has a nice ring to it...
Where did you get the Darmok jacket ?? I would to get hold of one
Nice job as always, Sean.
Hopefully it's written by the people who did season 2. It was actually great and better than most people think.
I just cleaned off my iPad screen but it was just Stardust in your background.
Could be a new series of movies The Search for Laris, The Wrath of Laris and The Return of Shaw
Star Trek... Time Travel... WHO else might they encounter? (I love fan-fic)
Picard has had his day, time to put the old man out to pasture. If there is a movie coming, then it should be set around Strange New Worlds or a feature length Lower Decks.
He already has been. Jean Luc Picard died at the end of Picard season 1. Now regarding whatever movie about this synth replacement will be... 😏
A feature length Prodigy but we have to ask Nickelodeon to do it rather then Paramount who wanna throw it away 😒 to Netflix
Isnt Romulan Yar still out there somewhere??
I’m excited, too. But did it not end perfectly already?
At first, I wasn't hyped about it. But there is an unfinished story. And while I figured it would be a perfect jump point for Legacy, I can see where it could happen.
And we'd get more Orla Brady as Laris. The Sela storyline. And with what happened in Picard Season 1 and Season 2 with a Romulan graduating from Star Fleet Academy, it's very possible that it would garner the attention of one of the deadlier Romulan foes.
I would absolutely LOVE to see a Picard movie honestly if it does not happen I will be absolutely devastated!
I would be devastated if that happens.
I think we will either get Legacy as a series or as a Movie. I don’t think we will get both, but I think we’ll get one.
Was it written by the guy that did picard season 3?
My ringtone is the theme from ST:Beyond.
It would be nice for a Picard/Jack Crusher/Q/Seven of 9 movie story…
That could be Star Trek Legacy
A few years after Picard finale... Sela wishes to rebuild the Romulan Star Empire, theres a huge battle between the Free State (Laris is on the Free State Council) and Sela's fleet, since Sela's flagship is overpowered (thanks to Borg technology) a Federation fleet under Picard helps the Free State, the battle destroys the Enterprise-G...yay, but in the end the good guys are victorious; we then see the next Enterprise in mid-construction, which will officially lead into Legacy.
Possible topics:
-Return of Sisko with Picard on a archeological discovery 🤷🏾♂️
-A time traveler with the return of Enterprise B
-Saving the Klingon empire with a massive war (possibly return of Martok)
-Return of Species 8472 and the Hierogen
-Not trying to do a multiverse plot, but 🤷🏾♂️
-A renegade starship committing atrocities across the quadrant
Star Trek 11 here we come, and yes I don't count the 2009 film as the 11th as its a different timeline.
I am looking for any new Star Trek that is well written, directed (Frakes) and well acted.
I think that frustrating silence from Paramount is because they seem to be in financial trouble, and I believe they are looking to sell the company. I could be mistaken, but the movie sphere news lately seems to suggest it. Probably no big moves until the dust settles?
Love the content! Cheers!
No!!!! The finale was the proper and perfect send off. Jeez. Dont ruin the beauty of season 3.
I'd go with the Kelvin / prime crossover. Maybe using Q to link the two universes?
Why not...Kelvin TNG reboot?
Tng Kelvin would make q make more sense if he was involved
I think I would have preferred BOTH a movie AND a Legacy series, but I'll take the movie for sure!
I would like to see Picard, Laris, and the Romulans. With Picard being an artificial lifeform with a soul of someone who did everything he could to save the Romulans, he could end up healing their society. Or something.
Hmmm, interesting thought.
Well we know that full Reunification with the Vulcans occurs post-Burn, so having Picard and Larys set the stage for the Romulans becoming significant enough galactic powers for that to eventually be beneficial to Vulcan would be interesting
Good to know. Thank you.
Yes a full story on Pacard an Larius pleace
I agree with the notion that Picard's story is done. His character has had 3 finales now (All Good Things, Nemesis, Picard), we don't need another. Any time/money spent toward such a project would now be better served doing something fresh, or at least away from Picard-centric. Legacy, an Ent-F production, giving DS9 some live action post Dominion War love, etc.
Please bring back Denise Crosby as Sela. She would be the perfect antagonist for a Picard movie.
Jonathan Frakes....cough ' direct it!' Absolutely!!!!!
I think that a new movie about Picard would make no sense, we already said goodbye to Picard in Picard show. BUT if his role is secondary and the new movie is the introduction of the new show Star Trek: Legacy, with the enterprise G, captain Seven and so on, it would be awesome.
