Our Story:
We are six years into a seven year effort of transforming 20 acres of "Piney Grove" in Northwest Florida into our dream homestead/mini farm to be filled with animals and joy. We plan to have a variety of miniature critters on our pastures, raise free-range chickens, grow fish in our pond, garden, plant fruit and nut trees, and harvest wild game. Our goal is
to escape the stresses of corporate life and embrace all that country living
has to offer as we enter the next chapter of our lives. Follow along on our

I've had Kubota L3301's in years past, but when I can get property again in the future, I Really Like the Summit tractor.

Doing a great job with the chipper. I’m with Deb, I believe I could do that all day.
It's fun unless a log gets jammed and you have to take the chipper apart!! Ask me how I know.
Kudos to you for getting out there and getting it done! I've got the Woodland Mills 8" chipper and like it a lot, and I've heard nothing but good about the Woodmaxx products as well. You're putting yours to good use!

Working outside is what keeps me alive I think. I think the trees will always win in the end. I really like that wood chipper too.

You are spot on about staying active when you retire. 3 years ago, I retired. I was a flight attendant, nothing worse than sitting in the house. I had to get a part-time job just to stay busy. Keep up the great work.

Not too far from you and I let my Bahia grow up and start to seed then cut it with a Caroni 5' finish mower. The mower throws the seed out and helps to reseed the land to make the Bahia come in thicker in those bare spots. And yes 10-20 acres will keep you busy.

True No Till drills require quite a bit of horsepower. Maybe rent one first?
