When esam and wadi are together you know it’s going to be golden
Is it just me but I can’t get over Esam being professional whilst wadi is like “what?!” or “I guess” to almost everything.
Esam is the smash ultimate version of what mewtwoking was in smash melee, he's a super computer of info cuz he spends more time labbing then anyone and he speaks very seriously about his findings, wadi on the other hand is just a guy that loves to play smash and happens to be good at it. He's not nearly as mentally invested in it as esam. I'd say esams playtime hours on his switch for smash is probably the highest in the world 🌎

My favorite smashers have always been mang0 and hbox however, im from the older generation and beyond so to continually follow their stories from now until then is pretty cool to see all these years later. video idea: two players pick their opponents controls. they are required to at least keep everything, just on different buttons so they cant just delete shield or something.
this would be funny especially them figuring out their controls and how to play around it.

I'm pretty sure you can't actually delete things like shield from your controller scheme because the game won't let you save it. However, you are able to delete grab because it is just a macro for shield and attack which is why the game doesn't see it as necessary to include in a button layout.
Also as a rule, they shouldn't be able to change the d-pad off of taunting. I only say this because you can just set any combination of shield, attack, smash attack, special, and jump to each of the 4 directions on the d-pad and have every other button be taunt except for 1 button which would be whichever one of the 5 actions that you didn't put on the d-pad. This can be especially problematic because you can make it impossible to grab if you set shield and attack to opposite sides of the d-pad.

Palutena is just the Melee Sheik of this game. Easiest top tier to pick up and do well, but doesn't have cheese or exceed in anything particular to push her enough against the other top tiers.
Shiek is the cheese, she can apply pressure and fair you at 70 off stage fairly easily. The "cheese" is how straight up good and proficient she is

If more people become good with Kazuya like riddles then it would hell, but luckily nobody wants to put that much effort into a character.
Kazuya is just very difficult to master.

Yeah Kazuya is cracked but not many play him. I wonder if Wadi is right about seeing him up there soon. Though I doubt people will people will put the time into learning him when they can just pick up Steve and arguably get better results for less effort.
Kazuya is just hard. Even Riddles, the best Kazuya in the world, can't do the combos consistently. It's like you said, Steve might not have guaranteed 0-to-deaths, but he does have guaranteed >60% combos off of safe pokes and they're way easier to do than Kazuya combos, so what's the point in playing Kazuya?
He also an acquired taste playstylewise. If you don't like FGC you're definitely not gonna like Kaz
I wish Vikki understood that this is most used characters, being presented with consistent results. Kazuya is hardly used due to what you said, also has miniscule results compared to these characters that we saw.

@@Lexicon865 i just think most roys are bad at the game... i think they tend to be cool people lol. Im a chrom main but i play rou too when i feel chrom cant cut it. I also have secondaries as back ups. I think roy is fun to watch.
I don't play him in ultimate that much but Roy's fun to watch and play against, I'd rather have him in vods than like 3/4 of the cast

Agree with WaDi. Steve is annoying as hell, but not banworthy. I believe Kazuya is a problem, because the entire point of the Kazuya matchup is:
1. Dont get hit.
2. Refer to rule #1
You get hit by Kazuya, you lose a stock, because he 0 to Deaths you off most, if not all touches. I basically play keep away and dont interact with Kazuya the whole time, because being close to him is bad, no matter your character choice.
Also, I will continue to say this about Ultimate: We are so lucky that there arent more Min-Min Mains. I would ban Min-Min over Steve.
Kazuya's not a problem either though
@@Lexicon865 The reason 0 to death in one touch isnt a problem for most is because there's not nearly as many Kazuya players as there are Steve players, hence the reason people talk about Banning Steve. If Kazuya had the same number of players as Steve, they'd talk about banning him.
I can agree somewhat, at least you can play around Kazuya by staying away from him all match.
The gameplan against Steve is
1. Rush him down
2. Don't get hit
And if he has diamond the plan is also
1. Don't get hit
2. Refer to rule 1

I get what WaDi was saying about Wolf probably having a Roy situation in Smash 4.
Like a lot of the characters that are Top Tier in Ultimate were not the best in Smash 4.
Roy and Wario were both low tier and Pac-Man and Palutena were like Bottom 15.
If Wolf was in Smash 4, I feel like they would’ve put him like one tier above Falco.

I agree with wadi, no ban on Steve. He’s amazing, but he has some Rob and Kazuya level bs. But no one tries to get ban hyped for this
People don't talk about the nerfs Mythra got in the last couple of balance patches enough when they mention the characters viability. Before 12.0 Mythra was able to get much earlier kills on heavier characters with Lightning Buster and they made the character's recovery significantly worse by reducing the amount of s air dodge had. Reducing Mythra fsmash knockback and making Pyra's side b have more recovery frames so the character gets the gimmicky side b footstool stuff less were also significant hits. Compared to release Mythra has to rely on Pyra to kill much more and the character gets gimped way easier. It's kind of the same thing that happened to Lucina with the fsmash and fair nerfs. You didn't imagine that these characters were broken they just have to win neutral a couple of extra times now to take stocks and over the course of a set that's a huge deal.

I wonder if character developments get ruined/ stagnated due to bad esam tierlist and mu charts lol. I have a theory ! Maybe why were suffering from the Steve / kazuya / minmin meta maybe because ignorance deemed other characters that could of been counter picks got ruined to bad intakes and it killed the character developments.
Kazuya isn't that big of an issue, char is unplayable unless you are a top player. Rob is a much more serious problem at ANY level.

And yhea Esam is right, the top robs aren't even playing the char to the full potential

ESAM is based af Roy is definetly better than Aegis IMO, Roy is literally Pyra AND Mythra combined and has a better recovery, he just doesnt have foresight, but boo-hoo at least he has a counter.
When it comes to the peak that each character can do, Roy is definitely better. The issue is that there has yet to been (Yes even Kola) someone who has reached Roy's peak possible performance
Maybe I'm just a noob but I've seen Roy sometimes struggle to get the kill (see Kola and Goblin at Let's make moves Miami for reference on some videos). It's incredibly rare for Pyra to not kill. Wouldn't Pyra kill power be greater than Roy's, even tho Roy can occasionally get stocks at low % too?
I don't know, Pyra has longer reach and more kill power. Roy sometimes misses crucial kill opportunities due to not getting the sweet spot and Mythra is a menace in neutral.
@@l.n.3372 To be fair, I've seen every Aegis player go through the point where they switch to Pyra when their opponent is at kill percent and then lose the match cuz they just stay in disadvantage for the rest of the stock.

Pyra can get juggled or edge guarded in the process of trying to snag a KO. That's undoubtedly true. But I don't think anyone would say:
Pyra struggles to kill.
I've seen Roy struggle to kill. I've seen Kola and Goblin lose matches cuz they kept getting sour spot hits of the Binding Blade instead of KO hits. And opponents lived to like 180 or more and then Roy died or got edge guarded himself. The lack of sweet spot + kill power is an issue for Roy and not for Pyra.
The palu stats just prove that people who play her are so carried
Steve is like sonic and olimar. Annoyingly campy with some killer matchups, but isn’t unbeatable by any means.
