I remember hearing this song on the radio when I was a little girl. I loved it then and I love it now. Filled with so much love and sadness. Very emotional ❣️ It really touches your heart. And of course my parents come to mind. My Dad loved and played this kind of music on his guitar.
Somewhat same, my Mother would play this song along with Floyd Crammers "Last Date". When she would get up very early and by herself. I bothered me then, now I have smiles and fond memories!!!
My Mom used to place RC records in the evening on the weekends, and this song brings back so many memories of my dearly departed Mom. We both attended a live concert of RC in 1968, when I was a kid, at the Circle Star Theater in San Carlos, California, and I remember it as if it were yesterday. For those of you that are lucky to still have your parents, don't waste a second, and please tell them how much you love an appreciate them as I did.
This was playing on the plane when we were leaving Fairbanks, Alaska and my Dad was flying out for declimatization in Hawaii then on to Vietnam. Febuary, 1966.
Reminds me of childhood with my father playing this song. Listening to it now with tears streaming down my face. He died exactly 6months ago on Aug 5 2021 from COVID complications. A wonderful father. Will forever and ever love you Daddy. Thank you for everything and for giving me a great music taste :-).
I was stationed at China Lake NWC, CA in 77/78. There were only a handful of us there. The Great Mr Ray Charles came and played for us in a small theater. I say by myself, front row, not 50 feet away. It was amazing. I will always love him for coming there. He was the only one that did.
I was a late kid. The youngest of five but 17 years younger than my oldest sibling in 13 years younger than my next oldest. So my parents were world war II era people. And I remember my dad and my uncle playing this song when I was really little and I still remember that to this day. It was probably the early '70s. So I might have been 6 years old. I've always loved Ray. Charles
Am 59 going on 60 12/21 amazingly I must had been like 5 or 6yrs old would rain in a hot day a snowcone hearing my dad sing it as we work the fields 8 in the family lost my dad just a day before my 15 quincaniera..lost his life car accident living me oldest my mom and 7 more...why I say this cause we still worked them fields till I was in my 40s SINGING THIS SONG 🎵 JUST LIKE HIS LAST Willie Nelson and MR. RAY CHARLES...beautiful man...IT WOULD RAIN and bring me memories PLUS ENBRACES ME just like GOD those through JESUS CHRIST...peace
The only song my 15mth old grandson goes to sleep to since new born. Tried other songs but this was the only song he settled too and still relaxes and sleeps to it.
I can't believe all this comments, most of you correlate this song with childhood, same as I. I guess we are special kind of people since there was a lot of other music at that time, but this song stuck in our minds.
Sweet memories, sitting on a rock at the sea with my BFFL, holiday in Rabac, and this song at the background! A holiday love, printed in my mind forever!!
I've loved this song since I was a toddler. My parents had the album and played it all the time. Takes me back to my pre-school years whenever I hear it.
My mothers song and now she gone and i just bawl crying with this song dont matter there im at i cud be driving and cry i love this song. Its crying time now
I remember this song we used to sing when we were just small, we used to sing this song while collecting crabs and shellfishes along the sea shore during low tide in this part of Fiji. I am 60 now, and this reminds me of those precious times.
Oh, my! You are so right. Thank you. I am never too old to learn something new. Roy Orbison's sounds Cha-Cha. I love R. Orbison songs, too, but Ray Charles version is far better to me. That is a lot for me to say.
Lovely i can't live without my wife.. we are philippines and korean couple.. but korea embaSsy demond us higher level languages test.. amd so much papers... so we tears 😢
I think it's odd that you didn't run spell check before you posted this video. You put in all that work...I'm trying to be respectful while still letting you know that everything is not correctly spelled.
You know you are old when all your favorite songs were sung & written by people long Dead! Thanks Buck & Ray!
Apsolutely right!
My mum sung these songs to me. I was two when it was released. Soo beautiful & sad altogether

Ray Charles would never fathom the things they are doing, but The Boys are making him proud 60 years later!
My mom used to sing this to me when I'd start to cry. 😠 Now listening to it, those memories makes me smile and cry.
Felt this
I sang this to my kids since they were little every time they would cry. I hope when I’m gone this song would remind them of me
You 🦇 shit crazy
Somewhat same, my Mother would play this song along with Floyd Crammers "Last Date". When she would get up very early and by herself. I bothered me then, now I have smiles and fond memories!!!

I'll be missing you Mom for the rest of life… It will be cryin’ time for me ‘til I see you again 💕💕💕🍃🙏🏾
We used to sit around my mother's piano. While she played we'd all sing this all the time back in the 60s through the 80s.

Melody and harmony is great❗ Ray has perfect voice, and choir is better than "Queen" and "Pentatonix"❗ Greetings from Serbia❗
