Record a full reaction that you can split up and release later maybe. And/or have a full timer reaction on patreon so we can follow along on the site where they stream the concert. Edit: Like others have said I also think it's fine if you react to their songs twice. Like one reaction to a live for their song Start Over and one for their MV. Or watch it on your own the first time and do a reaction video for a second time. The thing I watch you for most is your analysis, so I don't mind if you already saw or heard something when you give your thoughts on it.
Enjoy it, Have Fun, I will always watch your reaction to *BAND-MAID* even if you seen it before. 😊 _and no pausing a live concert for your comments or can you?_ 😊
Watch it. Enjoy it. And still do reactions to all the songs afterward. Sure, they might not be the first time you have heard the songs. But it will be the second, and you will still have a ton of things to say about each of them that we will want to hear.
I only discovered band-maid a few months ago and Akane is already one of my favorite drummer's ever, she blows my mind. The icing on the cake for me is she is always having so much fun performing and playing, just smiling from ear to ear non stop.
Band Maid embodies a quote by the late great jazz composer Dizzy Gillespie. "I would rather be the world's worst innovator than the world's best imitator." There are a ton of shredders in the world 95% of them are forgettable. Band Maid has technique in spades, their unique style puts them in a different galaxy.
I would pick out four major categories of influence on Band-Maid. First is retro 70s & 80s hard rock, influenced by heavy metal and pop punk. Second, The Japanese music school background is very much in evidence, strongly based on classical music theory but also an eclectic mix of musical influences outside modern rock & pop. Kinami may be a much better guitar player than pianist, but she thinks like a piano player especially on composition. The third influence is an eclectic mashup style we see with some J-rock bands sometimes reminiscent of Maximum the Hormone or Gacheric Spin. Fourth, there are definite J-pop and late 70s pop rock influences in many of the vocal melodies and harmonizing. If someone asked me to name the most eclectic rock or pop acts I had ever heard, Band Maid would be near the top of the list. They also don't don't pattern themselves closely to any other band's sound.
This song was made as a training for miku so she could play "Different". Once she mastered this she would be able to do both. And as for the concert, you should watch it and still react to the songs
Yep, Kanami did write this to prepare Miku for Different. She wrote this after she wrote Different, specifically for Miku. Kanami said it introduced Miku to "seventh chords, chords with tensioned notes, and diminished chords," while also playing at a higher speed. Here's the interview: ruclips.net/video/nYHpt6pnaUA/видео.html&ab_channel=youngguitarmagazine
ruclips.net/video/UnCKZZOoIWg/видео.html don't be long in concert 2019 "don't be long" is an old song from 2018 already present in Band-Maid 2019 tour, now this is a new version with some improvement, in any case, Kanami has almost 2 thousand tracks ready for implementation into a song, ha she said, she is a songs generator😆😆😆😆😆😆
@@kaazan1 And Kanami had already written Different at this point too. She was waiting for an opportunity to use it, and the Anime theme tune presented her a perfect opportunity.
It just dawned on me recently you have never reacted to Real Existence live. That song is an absolute must for any Band-Maidiac. Put it in your line-up for the near future. You'll love it. ETA: Watch for Miku tuning her guitar during the song.
I've come to the conclusion that, for me, their songwriting is kaleidoscopic. It looks like chaos but in the end it is geometry. And every time you spin the device (verses, choruses, bridges) the elements are combined in a different way to give you a new surprising image. There is something of very compelling beauty in the way they construct their music.
For the drum parts Kanami also writes them on the demo for their songs and sends them to Akane to work on. Akane is always suprised coz Kanami writes drum parts the normal person wouldnt be able to play so she discusses it with Kanami on what works to improve it. This is the process which makes Akane bring her A-game everytime coz Kanami demands so much from her the creativity comes out. They just keep getting better.
They actually debuted this piece on their last tour in the US last year. The whole audience were expecting Onset, and instead they sprung this on us, and totally burned the house down.
This song was written as an Etude for Miku, so she would have the skills needed to be able to perform the song Different. They talk about it a bit in this very enjoyable English-subbed interview. ruclips.net/video/nYHpt6pnaUA/видео.html
Thank you The Champ, for reviewing BAND MAID, their online concerts are brilliant, some people don’t like it but it’s their problem, like Saiki sung I don’t give a F* what people said and shout up ( Miku wrote the lyrics, that says it all). Take Care all ,Peace!!!
Love it. Kanami is one of my favorite all time guitarists. EVH, Slash, Rhoades, Cris Olivia, Neil Schon, David Gilmour, Emppu. The riffs, runs she does throughout songs is just incredible. They are just incredible.
funny, you mentioned Mozart. when he was a child- prodigy, people asked him about his music writing. he said: "i just put together the notes, that love each other". as a life long fan of Mozart and forever bando meido fan, i think, it's exactly the same thing, Kanami does... also, watch the gig and share your impressions with us, of course!
I think you should go ahead and watch the concert. Personally, I don't watch just to see you be surprised/reaction to certain parts but also how you breakdown the songs and give such great insight from a musicality perspective. It wouldn't stop me from watching any new Band-Maid videos you react to if you have heard the song. A lot of the times, 2nd time through you pick up on different things. Enjoy the concert man. On a 2nd note, there was an interview that Miku and Kanami just did with Young Guitar, where they talk about Different and Don't Be Long. Its on RUclips until the beginning of February, but Kanami talks about how she wrote Don't Be Long to help teach Miku how to play Different. You should check out that interview. Lots of good stuff in it and it has subtitles. I'll through the link to it at you on twitter.
@@kross3106 Exactly. I mean this in the best possible way, but he's kinda ruined most music reaction videos for me. Haha. Between him and Chase, I now hold reaction videos to a new standard.
totally agree (other than most of the other stuff you do, not a KPOP fan) my favourite reactor, we watch FOR the breakdown not the initial aww and shock
If this helps you, this was the setlist of the online concert: Dilemma 32:20 DICE 35:54 Don't you tell ME 40:00 Blooming 43:14 glory 47:02 Different (Live debut) 53:32 Rinne 56:58 azure 1:00:17 start over 1:03:17 Catharsis 1:07:00 Daydreaming 1:10:25 Don't be long 1:14:40 Rock in me 1:18:08 DOMINATION 1:35:30 Spirit!! 1:39:25 the non-fiction days 1:43:05 After Life (Live debut) 1:48:14 alone (New bass intro) 1:51:50 Choose me 1:56:35 REAL EXISTENCE 2:08:45 Screaming 2:12:58 Play 2:16:58 Different (Played for a 2nd time) 2:20:33 I'd also like to strongly recommend to react to a bit older but good live songs, like "Take me higher" or "Turn me on" both of which I really love :D
definitely Misa/Miku/Kanami/Akane in order, on the intro. Those chord slides are pure Miku. Where Onset is their "showy" instrumental, this IMO is their emotive one. I hear a ton of Satriani in Kanami's leads on this.
set list was good for that concert. 1.Dilemma 2.DICE 3.Don't you tell ME 4.Blooming 5.glory 6.Different 7.Rinne 8.azure 9.start over 10.Catharsis 11.Daydreaming 12.Don't be long 13.Rock in me 14.DOMINATION 15.Spirit!! 16.the non-fiction days 17.??After Life ?? 18.alone 19.Choose me 20.REAL EXISTENCE 21.Screaming 22.Play 23.Different -2nd time
Kanami wrote this B side of the Different single literally as a practice piece for Miku, who knows how to play diminished 7th chords but was a bit flabagasted at the tempo. Yet another Classic emerges! (Different is actualy Kanami playing both Lead and Rhythm, before Miku was up to speed :)) Kanami Guitarist Sensei ! .... Apparently when Kanami sent the rest of the group her demo of Different, Akane (Tokyo School of Music Grad, same as Misa), - replied "This is hard" but came up trumps- Just WATCH the concert and enjoy! Then we can catch up over the next few months ? Maybe give a review as in what you saw?
The Japanese only wear a costume (European fashion), they have no vocal talent (they only scream and they all scream the same), they dance like children, they pretend to play the musical instruments, and they have No artistic preparation. Now I understand they will Never will beat the Korean artists.
@@ztefanlord Yeah, it's such a shame that Band Maid wear our typical western Maid outfits, and just scream lots while dancing around like kids. My real hope is that one day they will develop some musical talent to match the amazing Koreans.
@@neilonaniet eh?! This is a reaction to an instrumental. No vocals. I've never seen anyone wearing anything like the uniforms these women wear in the UK or anywhere else in the western world. As for dancing around like kids. I'd probably dance around like a kid to this and wouldn't care what anyone thought of it. Korean rock groups are fantastic and play great music but they're not Band-Maid. Trying to drag one set of musicians down to elevate another set on the basis of nationality is borderline racism and has no place in music. Why not start up a RUclips channel to promote the bands and music you love? I'd love to watch it and support them too.
It seems like in each Band-Maid song the ladies are putting everything into it, like it's the only song they will ever play without fear of not having the next song in mind. Fearless and talented off the charts!
According to their recent interview, Kanami seems to have a whole collection of tracks ready well in advance. When they were commissioned to write a track for Log horizon, she simply went through her ‘treasure trove’ and picked the one most suited to the anime. She’s the type of person you’d want to have in your team for any project with a deadline. Its unfortunate that I didn’t have anyone like her throughout my highschool and university years.. damn
Thanks for uploading this, first time listening to it for me too. I'd mention how Kanami wrote this in part for Miku to practice certain techniques she would need to learn how to play different but I read the comments and everyone else watched the same interview.
To hear Misa do the Bass intro to Alone was just jaw-dropping. They played mostly the old stuff...Spirit, Rock in ME. Kanami wireless is just going to give so much freedom going forward. Just a kickass set for the whole show.
In the interview video for the song DIFFERENT - Kanami states that she wrote DON'T BE LONG for MIKU to practice the chords and speed for DIFFERENT. ruclips.net/video/nYHpt6pnaUA/видео.html (the title states that this is a limited time release!) Kanami also states in that video that she plays her notes to weave in with Saikis vocals. She says it's like she is singing along with Saiki. Kanami also states in that video that she has all these songs on file and she pulls one out and polishes it up and then sends it out to the others. They start by playing it at a slower speed and then determine how fast to play it. DIFFERENT was different in that they played it at that speed from the beginning. It truly is a group effort on the songs. In a interview on Japanese radio - the conversation goes like this: (Chris): There is a message from Saiki to Misa. "She is so adorable when she comes up with a cool bass phrase. She comes up with new ideas when she is drinking. lol Thank you for supporting the band with your sounds and your pure heart!" (Misa): Pure heart? (Chris): What do you think? Like, "No, I am not pure!"? But don't you feel it when you come up with a cool phrase? (Misa): Yes, I feel like Aaaaaah! Then I play the phrase several times and feels good about it. Then I record it, send it to Saiki, and wait for her compliment message back. (Chris): Her (Saiki's) role is like that to all other members, isn't it? (Misa): Yes, it is. More conversation from the MISA interview - (Chris): What did you do for the past several months? (Misa): I kept practicing the bass, and also recording my bass sounds to songs sent to me by the band member (I'm assuming Kanami) . (Chris): Have you learnt any new bass technique? (Misa): No, but I got better with detail phrases than before. (Misa): I was keep practicing our old songs for perfection. - (like she wasn't perfect before!!??!!)
What a wonderful online concert! These girls, man ... they nail every performance. Awesome. Don't Be Long, for a practice piece it is surprisingly similar to a master composition, don't you think? Thank you for your comments. Good job, Mr. Champ.
That's probably a good idea to ask someone to note the timestamps for you for later. Don't know the setlist, so since you're a bit unsure that's likely the safe thing to do. I forgot to mention that I thought Kanami's solo riffs, and riffs in general, brought me back to early seventies riffs. Has such a classic rock feel.
So has Champ watch it yet? It's one thing to listen to them, but it's a whole new experience watching them on stage. Their energy song by song, intermission messing with Miku's magic spell time, it's damn worth it.
Band Maid need to do live with public as soon as possible. I think they need it and shows in the streaming online, there is a drop in energy because there is not a direct live feedback from the fans, the sing along, the support, the material and spiritual energy of the crowd. They are still great of course, but in some songs they look weary (not in the physical sense) specially Saiki, like the effort of being alone on the stage in front of nothing more than technicians, cameras and screens take its toll. This year man, what a shit.
Kanami told in an interview that this was a song for kobato to learn/practice to be able to go as crazy fast as necessary on the upcoming 'different'. So it is indeed a master class. 😉✌️🕊️
You should watch the concert, like you said in the last video "absorb the greatness" and keep doing your reviews and breakdown of the songs like Rick Beato
Throwing my vote behind you watching the concert for yourself. Personally, I'm interested in reactions after some thought and consideration as well as raw reactions. And the concert was so awesome! Amazing two hours. You're gonna wish you'd gotten the three-month archive.
I'm staying up until 2am myself, but then I have to do something for work at 12:15 anyway. See the show, it'll be awesome and you'll be too caught up in the moment and won't be pausing and analyzing the same way. There's no reason to deprive yourself for our sake. Enjoy the service and still react anyway, there'll be differences anyway.
Already commented on your pinned thread to enjoy the concert but also wanted to mention I don’t think you should worry about running out of band maid stuff to react to. I think it helped that you paced yourself and while in th beginning i was like why aren’t you reacting to band maid every day?? (Lol). I think it worked out in the long run. If you actually do run out of official videos there’s other random stuff out their like fun interviews but why am I even mentioning this when their new album is coming soon! :)
Do a marathon of recording what other BAND-MAID you can do, then record your reaction to the concert. Also, saw an interview with Miku and Kanami where they were talking about Different and Don't be long about how Kanami wrote Different and recorded the rhythm guitar for it and then wrote Don't be long as an etude to help Miku learn the guitar techniques she'll need to play this live. It was the moment I realised Kanami's level of professionalism and musicianship... IS OVER 9000!!!!
I will be watching the concert tonight, and I don't think that it matters if it is your first time hearing it or your 23rd time listening. You do a great job analyzing each and every song. And I think you would find something new about every song each time you listen to it.
Just in case you haven't caved and watched it - here is the setlist: 1.- Dilemma 2.- DICE 3.- Don't you tell ME 4.- Blooming 5.- glory a.- MC 6.- Different 7.- Rinne 8.- Azure 9.- start over 10.- Catharsis 11.- Daydreaming 12.- Don't be long 13.- Rock in me b.- MC/Rock in me (reprise)/Happy Birthday/Omajinai Time 14.- DOMINATION 15.- Spirit!! 16.- the non-fiction days 17.- After Life (New song ) 18.- alone 19.- Choose me c.- MC 20.- REAL EXISTENCE 21.- Screaming 22.- Play 23.- Different (re-do because technical difficulties during first time - aren't they nice!)
Hope you managed to catch the concert. They played"After Life" for the first time and everyone was freaking the hell out. Song's a instant favorite, for sure.
Watch the concert, for sure. I am sure we can get over the fact you may have seen a song or two at the online show first before you review. You're style and breakdowns of songs are more on the "spot" reviews. With all the ifo you give on the first viewing, it would probably be interesting to hear what you have to say after the second listen. You do great breakdowns man. On this one, I think you helped clarify why I am such a big Akane fan. I mean every Band-Maid songs beckons my ears to Akane and what she is doing.
Just watched the concert and I hope you enjoy it as much as I did, take notes or note the parts you liked most and then make a review of the concert if u want to do something about the video, It will be a lot of work I guess, but is not necessarily thought, I highly suggest to watch it in one take and take the impact of one great setlist that they performed. Cheers men, hope you have fun !!!
If you haven't seen it yet, watch the Young Guitar interview with Miku & Kanami. It has English subtitles now. I think only available to watch for a limited time. Good insight from them!
Please watch the concert! Each member brought their absolute A+ game and you will be blown away. If you listen to it without pausing (imo) it will not take away from your in depth reactions. The new intro to Alone is worth the price of admission 🤘🏻
Kanami composes most of the drums parts with her computer. Akane's work is later to adapt it to a playable form as Kanami seems to compose parts where Akane would need a third arm to play it as written.
I love the dynamic of Kanami and Akane’s relationship, not just as friends (been so long before BM) but as fellow musicians. While Kanami sees Akane capable of everything she throws at her, Akane returns that absolute trust, sighing wryly to herself everytime and still stepping upto the challenge resigned to her fate completely. Its no wonder she beats the heck out of those drums 🤣 It must be quite the enviable thing and a personal hell at the same time, to have someone beside you who is constantly looking at you with sparkles in their eyes.
13:14 OK, now I'm waiting for you to do an a capella rendition of 'Don't Be Long'. Don't Let Me Down! Brilliant analysis as usual. Also, watch the okyu-ji. You do not want to disappoint Miku, do you?
Don't worry about running out of Band-Maid songs. Everyone wants to see & hear most of their 94 songs. Why? Because they're all that good. And by the time you get halfway through the list, they'll have their January drop, Unseen World, out. See you at tonight's concert.

@@satocalbee8857 I did watch both of these informative videos. Thanks all for working hard to give us English translations. It means so much because Band-Maid fans want to know. @@TomClark-Futoura Akane suggested to Gary an alternative drummer when she ate too much banana and couldn't play, but he just laughed and didn't answer. ruclips.net/video/CsLU0MECQMo/видео.html
Absolute agreement on your point about respect for something that is beyond your own abilities - it applies to any form of art. If ever I think "I could (maybe) do that", I lose all interest. Hence my contempt for "easy listening", pop, C & W, trad jazz etc. and my admiration for all those who push the boundaries and go beyond, like Band-Maid. Hell, most of the groups I used to love couldn't even attempt their songs! And oh yeah, the concert... record it for later viewing after you've done all the songs requested.
Yeah, and often to their bewilderment lol. Akane said once she was almost in tears trying to play the stuff that Kanami had her playing, and needed three hands. But Akane - being the drum goddess that she is - mastered it. Recently, Kanami has left bass line compositions to Misa after communicating the general idea of what she's looking for. I think Kanami has been pushing the other members to become more active in the songwriting process (when earlier, it was pretty much just her). I don't know if Kanami also includes the vocal melodies in her demos, or the vocalists primarily write them (of course Miku writes the lyrics).
As far as we know, once Akane and MISA get the demo from Kanami, they have full control over how to rearrange their parts. And they will keep coming back together to trial and refine. Supposedly for the upcoming Unseen World, both of them also got slightly more involved in initial songwriting.
I am really an Akane fan. I know there are other flashier drummers in the world; but what I first noticed about her playing was that it was constantly grabbing my attention (without drawing all my attention out of the flow of the song). Particularly in the earlier albums, I feel she really carries the music, in particular by never letting the energy ebb through transitions. Most of all, I feel like she is really listening to each song and drumming in each moment (even if it's five different moments in a verse) in a way that lifts and carries the song at that moment.
Champ. If you haven't seen the show yet. There's one new song. Afterlife. 1:48:14 - 1:51:40 mark. Different starts at 0:53:32. Don't Be Long 1:14:47. All times approximate.
oh just a heads up. Band Maid released first single from new album on apple music and spotify the day after their ONLINE OKYU-JI this past Sunday called "Afterlife". its a barn burner. should check it out.
The way I understand the creation process is Kanami comes up with some riffs, progressions basic melody. She sits down with Miku or Miku goes away and writes the lyrics. Kanami then writes the drum phrasing. Akane is like I don't have three arms but I can do this instead they work together on the backbone of the rhythm. Saiki gets to work the vocals with Miku. Misa listens to all the different parts of the rough track an improvises her bass riffs, rhythm support, guitar backing and fills. Kanami then takes all of this and works on a rough track with the other members help. They play the track together as if they are going to play the track live. Kanami makes the final production from the bands side a hands it over to the studio. This is mostly supposition with a few facts I have gleaned from interviews with band members about how they go about creating their music,
Senshi!!!! Even if you have already seen the videos. The analysis you bring is very worth while. I've been really enjoying the education I've been getting. So do as you please.
I saw them in concert in 2019, this song was amazing, this new version is a little bit much powered by Akane, but as you say I was really impressed by Akane, she is capable to make very awesome drumlines to energize the songs and bring you away in the songs. I am a musician but the drums are not my first instrument, but I can understand the commitment that Akane puts into composing, surely she writes on the paper beat after beat all her drumlines, as the old monsters did, I often connect the style Akane in following the music to that of Carl Palmer, even if the musical genres are very different, she is definitely not a drummer like many today. Akane in concert can really shock you, I listened to her from about 5 meters, I could feel her in my bones, she does rare things to hear today, like putting ghost beats during short, fast double bass sequences, how many can do it today? One thing that few notices about Akane is her absolute rhythmic precision even at full speed which she maintains even in complicated passages throughout the drum set. Many only hear the velocity performed on a single piece such as snare or bass, but they don't notice how Akane can move around the drum set is a superhuman thing, even up close you literally don't see her hands anymore, an instant is on the snare drum, then hear lightning-fast hits on the toms and cymbals and then see her on the snare drum in a flash, never seen anything like this before. This crazy speed allows her to always close the feels perfectly, without those micro-delays that you hear even in many famous drummers. You are making great reactions.
Just because you hear it tonight doesn't mean you can't do a breakdown vid later. Just say up front you saw it at the online show and no one will care it isn't "first time".
You should react to the live version from last year in the USA to see how good Miku's playing was. She killed it. There are fan cams here in RUclips with very good sound quality.
This performance will be different from what they will eventually release via mv and any future life shows. I think you're good either way unless you want us to see you react for the very first time ever.
We would still watch your reactions even though you already heard the songs on the concert. :) And they are not going to make a video for each and everyone of their songs. Enjoy the concert for what it is :)
Dude, we all have been missing live shows this crazy past year, so don't pass up a chance to see them live. We are fans of your videos and already know all the songs you're going to do, we come for your analysis. But we do want your opinion of the show within 2 hours of it finishing.
I believe Kanami and Akane have the longest working relationship in the band . They were in an acoustic band named "Mochi and Cheese" together and Akane did percussion on Kanami's singer songwriter music !! I haven't seen anything on just how and when they met. In the Miku and Kanami interview for "Different" they say they called the new album Unseen World because it's become an album unlike anything they have made before !! That kind of excites me and scares me !! But I can't wait to hear it !!
Here’s a (Must Read) recent 2019 official interview where every member talks in detail about themselves- their family and upbringing, what got them into music, influences, past associations and various struggles eventually leading to BM’s formation. They also speak about their growth as a band since their debut, individual roles within the band, and their personal aspirations and endgoals for their careers and as musicians even beyond Band Maid. www.reddit.com/r/BandMaid/comments/cbvlp7/translation_of_interview_for_bandmaids_future/ Summarised list of the translated content (all credit goes to the translators in this reddit thread and BM) 1) Detailed individual interview of all the members Kanami- Lead guitarist/ Composer and Arranger Miku- Rhythm guitarist/ Backing vocals/ Lyricist Akane- Drummer MISA- Bassist Saiki- Main Vocalist 2) Interview with Kanami about her music composition process, gears and softwares. 3) The group interview about how they started and future of the band. 4) A report and interview about their rehearsal process and preparations before a live show. This is handsdown the best and most comprehensive interview/bio of them so far. They are often quite reserved and awkward in their interviews even in the Japanese ones and the language barrier only adds to it, but the interviewer here seems to have nailed it. Just reading it makes it obvious that the vibe there must’ve been great and everyone seemed very comfortable and frank in their conversation. I came across this by chance just recently and have been trying to share this everywhere as its too good to be missed. If possible, please help spread this around the fanbase.
@@Dtagcity Yes , I did read this but forgot about the part where Akane talks about how they met ! So they met when their former bands played the same show and they lived near each other and became friends.
One vote for watching the concert. May be record some comments after. We watch you to learn, understand and to enjoy sharing the Band-Maid experience with a kindred spirit-not really to see a look of surprise on your face. Also, the live later on will no doubt be different to any version out there.
I saw all your Band Maid reactions and your comments were fantastic. As a non musician, I've never realized how cool are the transitions and little details that add so much on their musics. And if I can make a suggestion, please react to UNLUCKY MORPHEUS. They're sick. I believe that their most famous song are "Black Pentagram" and "Knight of Sword", and I suggest to listen these two first. Then, if you liked, listen to CADAVER/REVADAC". There are a ton of shredders in the world 95% of them are forgettable. Band Maid has technique in spades, their unique style puts them in a different galaxy.
Oh yeah!
JUST DO IT!
Yep, Kanami did write this to prepare Miku for Different. She wrote this after she wrote Different, specifically for Miku. Kanami said it introduced Miku to "seventh chords, chords with tensioned notes, and diminished chords," while also playing at a higher speed. don't be long in concert 2019
"don't be long" is an old song from 2018 already present in Band-Maid 2019 tour, now this is a new version with some improvement, in any case, Kanami has almost 2 thousand tracks ready for implementation into a song, ha she said, she is a songs generator😆😆😆😆😆😆
@@kaazan1 I was at the Echoplex 2019 and they played it but I don't remember exactly how it went and how it differs from the studio version.
I like it
I love that...very nice analogy....
That's a beautiful description. I've also heard of Bach's symphonies being described as kaleidoscopic.
@@OhWaker Nice!
I've about exhausted the supply of superlatives to describe just how damn good this band is.
Kanami knows that there is nothing in rock music that Akane can't play. And of course she also knows that Akane is not a "normal person"☺
@@ullischuster1263 You made me crack up. 😁

This channel is so underrated man
Best rock band in the world right now. Hands down.
funny, you mentioned Mozart. when he was a child- prodigy, people asked him about his music writing. he said: "i just put together the notes, that love each other". as a life long fan of Mozart and forever bando meido fan, i think, it's exactly the same thing, Kanami does... also, watch the gig and share your impressions with us, of course!

She is a genius, along with the whole band, and there work ethic is second to none.
definitely Misa/Miku/Kanami/Akane in order, on the intro. Those chord slides are pure Miku. Where Onset is their "showy" instrumental, this IMO is their emotive one. I hear a ton of Satriani in Kanami's leads on this.

Kanami wrote this B side of the Different single literally as a practice piece for Miku, who knows how to play diminished 7th chords but was a bit flabagasted at the tempo. Yet another Classic emerges! (Different is actualy Kanami playing both Lead and Rhythm, before Miku was up to speed :))
Kanami Guitarist Sensei ! .... Apparently when Kanami sent the rest of the group her demo of Different, Akane (Tokyo School of Music Grad, same as Misa), - replied "This is hard" but came up trumps-

Well I hope you decided to watch the live streaming concert last night it was truly awesome. These ladies are so down to earth….
The sound of that snare is so satisfying.. especially in chorus part

This is such a kanami track and i love everything about this. Have listened to this countless times already. 🖤🖤🎀🎸🔥
In the interview video for the song DIFFERENT - Kanami states that she wrote DON'T BE LONG for MIKU to practice the chords and speed for DIFFERENT. ruclips.net/video/nYHpt6pnaUA/видео.html (the title states that this is a limited time release!)
Kanami also states in that video that she plays her notes to weave in with Saikis vocals.
In a interview on Japanese radio - the conversation goes like this:
(Chris): There is a message from Saiki to Misa. "She is so adorable when she comes up with a cool bass phrase. She comes up with new ideas when she is drinking. lol Thank you for supporting the band with your sounds and your pure heart!"
(Misa): Pure heart?
(Chris): What do you think? Like, "No, I am not pure!"? But don't you feel it when you come up with a cool phrase?
(Misa): Yes, I feel like Aaaaaah! Then I play the phrase several times and feels good about it. Then I record it, send it to Saiki, and wait for her compliment message back.
(Chris): Her (Saiki's) role is like that to all other members, isn't it?
(Misa): Yes, it is.
More conversation from the MISA interview -
(Chris): What did you do for the past several months?
(Misa): I kept practicing the bass, and also recording my bass sounds to songs sent to me by the band member (I'm assuming Kanami) .
(Chris): Have you learnt any new bass technique?
(Misa): No, but I got better with detail phrases than before.
(Misa): I was keep practicing our old songs for perfection. - (like she wasn't perfect before!!??!!)
I think a review after second listening is better than a first reaction. So, watch the concert and keep sharing your thoughts. 👍👍👍👍
Not yet... wanna wait til I can sit down, smoke an L, and chill back on my couch.
You and Chase is all i need to break down Band Maids tracks.Good job.
We have seen all the videos, we watch for your reaction and comments about the video.
I heard this the day it dropped on Spotify and went OMFG!!
Based on my memory of the recent interview with Miku and Kanami I believe the slide at the beginning is Miku.
Watch it, enjoy it. There is PLENTY of BAND-MAID to still react to either way :)

Kanami composes most of the drums parts with her computer. Akane's work is later to adapt it to a playable form as Kanami seems to compose parts where Akane would need a third arm to play it as written.
She actually has two extra arms, but they move so fast you can't see them :D
I love the dynamic of Kanami and Akane’s relationship, not just as friends (been so long before BM) but as fellow musicians. While Kanami sees Akane capable of everything she throws at her, Akane returns that absolute trust, sighing wryly to herself everytime and still stepping upto the challenge resigned to her fate completely.
Its no wonder she beats the heck out of those drums 🤣

Absolute agreement on your point about respect for something that is beyond your own abilities - it applies to any form of art. If ever I think "I could (maybe) do that", I lose all interest. Hence my contempt for "easy listening", pop, C & W, trad jazz etc. and my admiration for all those who push the boundaries and go beyond, like Band-Maid. Hell, most of the groups I used to love couldn't even attempt their songs! And oh yeah, the concert... record it for later viewing after you've done all the songs requested.
FYI. For every song that Kanami wrote, she also makes bass and drums notes for the others.
Not as much anymore. She might give them a basic outline now but MISA especially is writing her own parts.
They did this live on the stream.
It was perfect.
Nah, actually she just pretend to plays the music instruments.
As far as we know, once Akane and MISA get the demo from Kanami, they have full control over how to rearrange their parts. And they will keep coming back together to trial and refine.
Supposedly for the upcoming Unseen World, both of them also got slightly more involved in initial songwriting.
Watch the concert, we will always watch your breakdowns first listen or not !
You're doin God's work
Miku writes almost all lyrics and initial vocal arrangements. Kanami writes the music. Yes. Watch the concert!
I hope you watched the concert - it was fantastic, and they've still got a load of other songs you can react to, after all.
oh just a heads up. Band Maid released first single from new album on apple music and spotify the day after their ONLINE OKYU-JI this past Sunday called "Afterlife". its a barn burner. should check it out.
Sick mayhem...marvellous! Need some Saiki now...for the soul, power ballad 'Daydreaming'...beautiful arrangement.
This is mostly supposition with a few facts I have gleaned from interviews with band members about how they go about creating their music,
Kanami does her part and sends that to Akane and MISA and they add their ideas and then they work on it together.
Senshi!!!! Even if you have already seen the videos. The analysis you bring is very worth while. I've been really enjoying the education I've been getting. So do as you please.
Don't deprive yourself of the concert. Watch it. Still do reactions. You'll still have stuff to say about it.
Great analysis

Dude, we all have been missing live shows this crazy past year, so don't pass up a chance to see them live. We are fans of your videos and already know all the songs you're going to do, we come for your analysis. But we do want your opinion of the show within 2 hours of it finishing.
Hope you got to watch the show. If you want, maybe just give us your thoughts on it. I know secondary audio and pics are prohibited so..

GO‼️MIKU‼️
GO‼️MIKU‼️
GO‼️MIKU‼️
A punk-like power chord that Miku is good at.

Summarised list of the translated content (all credit goes to the translators in this reddit thread and BM)
1) Detailed individual interview of all the members
Kanami- Lead guitarist/ Composer and Arranger
Miku- Rhythm guitarist/ Backing vocals/ Lyricist
Akane- Drummer
MISA- Bassist
Saiki- Main Vocalist
2) Interview with Kanami about her music composition process, gears and softwares.
Should really check out the fan cam version of the song from New York where *Miku* is hopping around like the energizer pigeon 🐦
She just wanted to see if her wings still worked
Holy Tornadoes Batman, The Shtick Is Up!
I won't spoil much, but its one of the most ingenious music I've ever saw.
