- Cabinet minister Michael Gove and Andrea Leadsom have become the latest high-profile Tory MPs to announce they are standing down ahead of the July 4 election.
As he joined a growing parliamentary exodus, Mr Gove praised Rishi Sunak for espousing “the very best virtues” of the Tory party but said “it is time to leave”.

Gove cut school funding by half and left them falling down around our precious children's heads, we have nothing to thank him for. He can go into oblivion as far as I'm concerned .

I turned against Andrea Leadsom when she stood against Theresa May for the PM job and wanted to take away employees appeal rights if they are sacked from a place that employs less than 200 people, as if every sack decision is fair. I am not sorry that she is going !
