- Election night 2019 began with the Broadcasters' exit poll forecasting Labour were set for a hugely disappointing night, with their lowest number of seats for decades.
At this time on the night, Sky News predicted the Conservatives would win the election with 358-368 seats.

The joy of watching Bercows smile being wiped off his face is priceless.
@freebeerfordworkers 50 Minutes in. The Exitspolls
Def an early Christmas present.
And then seeing him denied a peerage.
John Bercuck
U do realise John Bercow was a conservative and more than likely voted for Boris Johnson right?
This was my biggest and best Christmas present ever....Socialist Roast Dinner sprinkled with the tears of snowflakes.
🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣👍
Absolutely, the sun rose and the vile, fascist, English-hating Labour filth were crushed.
lol, and washed down with some British made wine
Now johnson allows thousands to die with his incompetence.
Agreed.
Bercow’s face....now screensaver on desktop. 😂😂😂😂

Yes and it's beautiful gift
He's now doing cringe foreign TV shows shouting ORDEEEER. 🤣
His new party.
Sky need to use this theme again next time seriously😂😛
Im not british, but can anyone join me to appreciate the music and the moment of the exit poll?
I felt tension even though I have hooted over this result since it 2019.🤣
It's the only reason I keep coming back to this video.
It fits the atmosphere of that election perfectly. Dad and I had fingernail marks in our faces in the leadup to the exit poll.
I voted remain but accepted the referendum result
After years of paralysis Brexit had to be sorted. Job done
But not by Johnson surely?
Gardener is whats wrong with labour. Rats Leading the Party
Nearly 2 weeks later and I just can't stop smiling. A truly fantastic result for the UK. To see the Labour Party get beat so badly was fantastic. And I am an ex Labour voter . NEVER again!

A lot of Trump voters being former democrats who are tired of the left leaning party going too far left
Nearly 3 months and I just cant stop smiling either.
@@phxmaster9684 The problem is they don't go far enough left haha.
Martin Goldfreed which one, labour in uk or democrats in USA?
@@phxmaster9684 Democrats in the USA. Labour in the UK went too far left in the last election, but were quite well placed in 2017. Democrats are way too centrist, thanks to the establishment's manipulation and rigging.
What a beautiful day for my brothers and sisters in the UK !
Thanks cousin
It certainly was.

dinesh khimji, cringeworthy music, sounds like it was made with garage band.
It’s actually fire!
I come back to this because of the exit poll music ! Can't believe this is nearly 5 years old now.
As someone who is not a fan of the Conservatives I thought that this was an utterly miserable night. However it was pretty obvious that Corbyn was totally unsuitable to be PM and this became more and more aparrent during the election campaigning.
In some ways I wish Corbyn had lost badly in 2017 and then been forced out by his party. It was obvious then he was a bad choice but because of May loosing her majority whilst Labour gained seats, he emerged victorious.
At least after this election he accepted he couldn't lead the party into another election.
6 months on and this still gives me joy
It got me through 2020 😆
Yeah thanks guys I hear the UK is doing really great at the moment - no strikes, low energy bills, truth telling Tories 🤣🤣

Sounds like they got Oxide & Neutrino to do it, it's awesome!
The theme is best thing about the whole election😂
Didn't even notice it, that's how generic it was
Too bad they did not have Owen Jones, Polly Toynbee or George Monbiot there. Imagine their faces...
Owen Jones was on ITV that night. Basically made out Corbyn to be a god, but was undermined by the goings on surrounding Brexit.
IF JOHN BERCOW believes he was fair to all parties, well I’m CLEOPATRA.
Hehehe, they always have a left leaning guest, lol. Didn't add to the outcome did it?
Jack brexit isn’t a left or right wing policy. There are many hard left politicians who want to leave the EU
Henry Baker including Corbyn himself, who was against the EU from its creation all the way to the point that he was Leader of the Opposition against a government trying to put Brexit underway and had to figure out what to do with the Remainers.
This never gets old 2 months later the stonking majority
What about now? Johnson is killing thousands by being such an awful Prime minister.
@@chriswatson3464 I know! I saw Boris personally running round my neighbourhood with an AR-15 shooting people! Absolutely terrible!

Bercows face is screwed up in fury! This is really hilarious 😂
The day Britain forgot about everything but Brexit and voted for a man who had already been proven a liar and deceitful man yet fell for it.
We got rid of Corbyn, thats all that mattered
Lovely stuff!
Sky made a huge mistake having John Bercow as their main pundit. Didn't they know how much he is hated?
I almost didn;t watch Sky because of that, but flicked over to see the expression on Bercow's face as the exit poll was announced, which grew increasingly sour as the individual results came in.
It was "there goes the peerage"
Agreed. Whatever possessed them? Maybe Kay Burley had some input....
Television gold
Those long haired girls running around with ballot boxes are adorable
Yes, the BREXIT election, not the Tory election, not the BoJo election, not the net zero election, and not the Covid election, but the BREXIT election. I think people have forgotten this...
Beff Rigby wasn’t happy
Soon as I heard the name Bercow, I wanted to turn the video off.
Why did they have to ruin it by having him on it. Shouldn't he be off working in Brussels.
I'm always impressed when I see James Cleverly take to TV. He's straight to the point, has that fatherly leadership material, trust and delivers on what he has requested. The next time a conservative leadership vote is taken I hope he gets the vote. :)
Shocking that Labour got as many as 191.
Shocking tory still got 122 seats after all of lies
I come back here once a while to see Comrade Jeremy get put in his place :)
The Corbynated chicken was stuffed and roasted
This never gets old or boring..
Thanks Brexit voter. The country is really doing well at the moment 🤡
Thanks tory was put to rest finally
Taxi for Bercow!
Who?
I hope that if Sky News run a similar timetable for future elections they find something useful to do with the hour before the Exit Poll. This programme would have been better starting at 9:55pm.
The reason the other broadcasters start at 9:55pm is because the broadcasters are embargoed from doing any meaningful coverage of politics till 10.
Sky clearly start an hour early in the hopes of hooking early viewers to stay with their coverage throughout the night.
Absolutely never get tired of this. Brexiteers had to vote twice because remainers with the strings of power were stifling the process.

Jeremy Corbyn lost so badly because he was too honest. He needs to lie to everyone and make everyone happy. Jeremy needs to take a few plays out of Boris Johnsons' and Dominic Cummings' playbook.

Just wondering I'm an American watching this election and can't figure out how the brexit party got so many seats in the EU parliament? Also American deplorable here happy to see are UK brothers and sisters in charge of their own destiny again
Elections to the European Parliament use Proportional Representation, whilst Elections to the House of Commons use First Past The Post.
@@conorwells9129 oh cool now I got it thanks for the info
Also nigel Farage said there would be no point voting for him and asked the voters to give thier vote to the conservatives
Something else to note regarding Farage is that he didn't field Brexit Party candidates in constituencies that the Conservatives had won two years earlier. This ensured that the pro-Brexit vote wasn't split in those areas, and with indications that the pro-Brexit vote would go more to the Conservatives, away from Labour, that strategy paid off in all but a few seats - chiefly in the London area, where the pro-Brexit vote was lower and where the Liberal Democrats and Labour did well.
Farage maintained his Brexit candidates in Labour, Liberal Democrat and Green constituencies, again reckoning that the pro-Brexit vote would switch from those parties to his own party or to the Conservative Party. Sure enough, in all those places we saw Labour's vote drop, usually by the same amount as the Conservative / Brexit vote had risen. In some constituencies it was enough to deprive the Labour candidates of a majority and the Conservative candidates won. However, because so many people are tribally loyal to political parties, there were always a lot of votes for Labour candidates in Labour held areas; those voters may have been holding their noses but couldn't vote for anyone else.
Consequently, the best that the Brexit Party could hope for was third place in most areas that they stood. The goal was not so much to win seats but to squeeze the overall vote in such a way as to push the Conservatives to the fore and push Labour further back.

Why does britian have shadow ministars? I don't get it?
Lemmy Mann, They are there to be the opposition spokesperson for issues around the Department they shadow and to hold the government ministers to account.
They represent the Opposition in specific areas. For example, the Chancellor of the Exchequer is the finance minister: the Shadow Chancellor is his equivalent in the Opposition. When holding the government to acocunt in matter sof finance, that's the Shadow Chancellor's job. They also formulate and guide policy in their area for their own party. All opposition parties (if large enough) have Shadow ministers, but the largest Opposition party becomes the "official opposition" and therefore the most important (and iirc only it's shadow ministers are accorded the official title). Essentially, the Shadow Minister is the government minister's opposite number. MOst parliamentary democracies operate that way, espescially those with a strong British legacy (eg Canada and Australia). Hence the British Parliament being called "Mother of Parliaments", even though there were Parliaments before it.
To hold their counterpart to account in Parliament. That's how the Westminster system works. It's repeated in lots of countries.
Umm??? Thanks?????

I didn’t watch Bercow live on the night in case the UK electorate were stupid enough to vote in a shambles of a coalition. It’s priceless viewing now though.
Big moment coming up at 49.00 ...
17 million vote for Brexit and Brexit party get no seats how?
They voted Conservative
They knew the Tories were the only ones who could get Brexit done, and so they voted that way.
A full month later and Comrade Grandpa still leader of what constitutes an opposition, and in his other continuing role as our man in Iran. If Nandy or Phillips don't make a dent in the trot leadership race, then the SNP are the real opposition for the forseeable. A magnificent night, regardless.
Its not that people did not like corbyn... We did... Its just that the conservatives were going to deliver brexit while labour would keep us in the E.U ...Thats 17m votes to the conservatives ... IncludingI core labour areas who choked to vote for them... It was in fact above party politics... f corbyn got the lead again today he would stand a better chance of winning than starmer
_Its not that people did not like corbyn... We did_
Huh, speak for yourself, I didn't.
The man single handedly made me change to conservatives after voting for labour all my life.
The best part of the coverage was the countdown music oh and the SNP being the only party to hold out against the Tories and taking 7 Tory seats.
This time the sky’s coverage was the best (I was watching both sky’s & BBC’s live at the same time back then, the BBC’s was dull to a new extent!). Thanks for uploading it! AND to quote Blair-‘It’s a new dawn, isn’t it?’ But the Commies are like zombies; they just hate the sun :)
Normally BBC takes the award, with Sky and ITV lagging behind.
I flicked between all three this time and ITV won it by a country mile. BBC is lost without Dimbleby.
One thing Sky gets consistently right, though, is the build-up and reveal of the exit poll. I made it a particular point to switch to Sky just before it hit 10.
