i absolutely love this scene, and the micro expressions you put on everyone's faces, and the cut to Essek? chefs kiss. thank you for animating such a pivotal moment so well!
Wise choice not to use moment accurate outfits for the Empire kids. Bondage gear would make the tone so weird. Once the official animated series exists I hope they skip the short lived slave outfits so that the tone of this moment hits properly.
Considering a lot of the nonsense the cut from the Live Show vs Legends of Vox Machina, I would not be surprised if the do. Remember how they took out the Briarwoods in the live show? KInda dumb, glad they changed it for the animated series.
@@seeker38 Sylas was taken out by magic shining dicks(I wish I was kidding) that Keyleth shot at and bounced off of Pike's Shield. Like I said, it was dumb.
@@seeker38 A little late, but bascially Keyleth uses sunbeam to cast a barrage of light dicks into sylas, killing him. It was very stupid and seriously ruined the moment for the end of such an important character to Percy.
@seeker38 Well, I mean, there was an entire part where Scanlan disguised everyone as different size Percys and Cassandras that got cut, also they disguised themselves as commoners when first entering Whitestone which also got cut. For the lead up to Briarwood's defeat the order in which their henchmen were taken down was changed in small ways, like the thing with Cassandra and Anders happened when they were inside the castle with Ripley but they moved it to happen earlier. Lastly for the last 2 episodes of S1 while the fight was shifted around just to make it more dramatic for the series, it turned out pretty much the same with Delilah outliving Silas, and her ritual not working, but instead of Keyleth almost dying from Delilah's attack Vex almost dies. Orthax, Percy's demon is also ejected and fought outside of Percy in the campaign while in the show he maintains control over Percy during the fight. Overall there are lots of changes but none of them significantly derailed or detracted from the show as opposed to the campaign and virtually all of them helped with the animated series format, so I'm sure any changes done for M9 will be similarly fitting.
For such an iconic scene this is the first time I've seen anyone animate it, love to see it.
Thanks!
Yeah I was searching for a scene I loved that didn't already have an animatic, and was surprised when I couldn't find one for this moment!
I loved this moment it was so tense everyone was freaking out and then Liam was like "I reach into the bag, and hold up the [thing]."
This moment is awesome! I love the cut you made to Essek, knowing what we now know ;)
Thank you 😊!

I've actually only experienced campaign 1 in show form. How different was the Briarwood's defeat in the live campaign vs the show?

Fantastic work. Please keep it up. Shame nobody draws the humans in the slave outfits lol.
