    Nice overview. I'd be interested in hearing more about how to self-treat snapping hip syndrome. Hope to see it soon!

    Awesome info. I second the previous comment! I think the snapping hip is what's happening to me. It feels like maybe a tendon rubbing/snapping on something. Looking forward to tips on this.

    Great video/ what’s the real difference between between muscle pull in groin area v inguinal hernia in that area? Can the pain symptoms be the same?

    • @docjenfit
      @docjenfit  5 месяцев назад

      These can definitely have similar symptoms. An inguinal hernia tends to relate to the stretching/pulling apart of fascia (connective tissue) in our low abdomen/inguinal area. The groin pull is more directly related to over-stressing the ground muscles.

    Any idea what can cause/ how to treat an adductor longus spasm? I have a patient who has had an idiopathic spasm for about two months- limited ER and ABD. Her longus is hypertoned and the tendon is taut. I've tried hot stone therapy, GTO release, deep tissue massage, PROM stretching, and PNF and it's not resolving. She'll be a "little" better at the end of the treatment but it's back to the same dysfunction the next day. She had no injury or overuse.

      I guess I wouldn't be exactly sure. But I would try finding some of the movement patterns in their body or throughout their day that you can start to tweak that might contribute to their adductors overworking. Sounds like starting with consistent at home hip mobility could benefit them!

    How to know if my low back and pelvic pain, and also hip pain are all related? I have dull lower back and pelvic pain. Nothing seems to be wrong with any of my lady parts according to my gynecologist. Had a pelvic ultrasound both regular and transvaginal, had an abdominal ultrasound, urine test, and vaginal swabs which were all normal. Doing PT for my lower back after I bent over a few months ago and heard a pop in my low back followed by excruciating pain and inability to move or walk. Spent 3 days in hospital heavily medicated for pain but it barely took the edge off. All they recommended was PT but never found a cause. Ever since my low back hasn’t been the same. But now my pelvis hurts, my left hip, and even left lower leg and ankle. It’s not a sharp pain, it’s dull and very uncomfortable almost feels like labor pains, and I’m also feel very tight muscles in low back and groin/hip and ankle areas. I feel like such a mess 😢 And that’s aside from the chronic upper back and neck pain.

      Hi Ruth. Thanks for sharing and so sorry to hear all you've been dealing with. There are always ways that the pains in our body could be related to each other. It's hard for us to specifically say through comments like this. But it could be great for you to explore pelvic floor mobility along with core stabilization (integrating the pelvic floor with the core) and hip/upper back mobility. We have a great course called 30 Days of Release and Recovery that can help work on some of these things. You could check it out at jen.health/grateful

    Single leg circles in Pilates on one side make my hip pop. Hearing it is freaky and it feels a little weird when it happens. It's not painful though. I modify my range of motion to avoid it, that's not always successful. I just don't want to hurt myself by ignoring it.

    Thank you for the overview of groin pain issues. A question I have that is perhaps indirectly related to groin pain from muscles is whether or not muscular issues causing groin pain can also transfer pain to the genital area, as well as just presenting as muscular issues ? Books like 'A Headache in the Pelvis' and 'The Myofascial Trigger Point Work Book' would certainly suggest so, in terms of trigger points in the abdominal muscles, but would you tend to agree? If so, which muscles are likely to be the culprits. Would, for example, the pain you mention in the pubis synthesis area be capable of radiating pain to the genital area? Or could muscular imbalances or the structures of the pelvis area create neurological entrapments even that might present themselves as genital pain. I ask as I've suffered pain for years now that no medical examinations like ultrasounds seem to get to the bottom of, and the doctors conclude it's likely muscular fatigue pressuring the structures in the area, even though I've always kept fit and exercised my core? Any speculations you can offer would be greatly appreciated.

      Tight muscles in this area can definitely cause genital pain or nerve pain. I'd definitely explore mobility all around the low core, hips and pelvis. Could also be good to work on breathing and relaxation of the diaphragm and pelvic floor!

      Maybe start working on some active going mobility and being really controlled in it before loading it up!
