It's Only A Paper Moon - Aidan Newland & Jay Verma

Aidan Newland is an accomplished saxophonist with over a decade of experience performing live music. Having started his musical journey as a teenager, Aidan quickly developed a reputation for his versatility and mastery of the saxophone. While specialising in jazz, he effortlessly crosses into various genres, including pop, reggae, funk, soul, hip-hop, and dance music. His deep roots in jazz provide a solid foundation, allowing him to bring a unique, improvisational flair to each performance.
In addition to his live performances, Aidan is a composer and recording artist. His debut EP, Home, showcases his dynamic range and genre-blending style. With each track, he crafts a musical narrative that is deeply personal and reflects his wide-ranging influences.
Jay Verma:
London-based pianist Jay Verma released his debut felt piano EP “River Full of Donations” in 2023. This year, he plans to unveil four seasonal EPs, starting with “Spring,” which comprises three piano songs written and recorded from Jay’s bedroom.
Drawing significant inspiration from Jazz, Disney and Classical music, Jay fundamentally considers himself a songwriter. He uses the piano as a medium to blend the whimsical melodies of Randy Newman with the harmonically rich styles of film composer John Williams and jazz pianist Brad Mehldau.
He has performed, toured and recorded with notable artists such as Cleo Sol, Little Simz, Olivia Dean, Sam Ryder, Unknown T, Chronixx, and Tom Rosenthal, to name a few. His versatility and distinctive sound have led to major performances at Wembley Arena, COLORS, Eurovision, the Graham Norton Show, Strictly Come Dancing, BBC Young Jazz Musician, and Mahogany, where his playing has been heard by millions around the world.
