@@ubermuppet Good luck! Have you decided what material you will be using for isolation so that if any water (rain, etc) goes beneath the wood, it doesn't reach the foundation?

Is that a black sealant you use in between the boards or something else?

its a marine teak sealant like sikaflex

Personally, I don't like the wooden boat deck look of these wide spread kind of "upgrade". At Cool&Vintage they do a great job in some of their buildings, something that respects the Series/Defender original spirit using a more rough pattern and finishes, as a real pick up that's going to be used and abused, not exhibited (Defender is NOT a luxury car!. This is the least indicated 4x4 for this kind of passing fancy. There are lots of SUV out there waiting to be driven with their "swimming pool look" pick up in a shopping mall parking lot during weekends). Stop doing this, really

Shouldn't people just do what they would like to do? That is the beauty of Land Rover Defenders. You get to decide on the tweaks, the styling, how you use it, what engine, what fuel and regardless of what someone chooses, they get what they want. There are Landies for every taste and budget.
