I'm sure the uploader knows this, so this is just for anyone watching; At around the 22:05 mark where he evens the screen out using the IBK colour, he mentions that there's a lot of detail lost. That's actually being lost because his IBK colour wasn't perfect, and in fact a lot of the time spent getting a really great key is in prepping a clean plate from IBK or other methods.
One thing I like to do these days is use primatte to get a pretty hard key, erode it in and back out to eliminate extraneous alpha, and use that alpha in the new inpaint node, or in FFfiller (a tool on Nukepedia by Mads Hagbath). This is much less fiddly than using the IBK colour, and is also much less heavy than stacking IBK colours especially.
No matter whether you're using IBK colour, or any other clean plate method, you need to make sure you're encompassing ALL of your foreground, otherwise yes, you will lose some detail once you do the even/clean screen technique. But if your clean screen is perfect, you shouldn't lose any detail. That does usually mean roto or painting hair onto the matte that is controlling the inpaint/FFfiller/IBK colour.

You're so awesome, I really regret missing the sale on LAH 2/ NKE 105 the other day, I'll definitely be getting it next sale on cgcircuit. I like that you're religious too, not enough of good people like you around (and I'm not even a Christian, I'm Jewish, but I think it's awesome to walk the walk of either.)

Daniel Katz If you want it half off from my site instead give me a shout. Christianity is a Jewish sect :) I follow the Jewish Messiah Jesus. Not religion, relationship with God ;)
God Bless and thanks for compliment.

At 6:23, I hate it when you gotta clean motion blur, instead of painting from the same frame though I would use a different frame and transform the position of the actor then use roto paint to reveal that area.

Thought of the same thing, but this is likely to reduce the number of steps/nodes for this case.

Did you only sort of breeze by the IBK part on purpose?

Hi Matt, very cool tut about the green screen. But one question, what's about the shadow of the person moving in front of the greenscreen ?

It’s a division that is expanding a blur and hence fills in the are with localized green values.
