Hi Dusanka, just wanted to let you know I’m on Spotify now with the pseudonym Synwrks. There is the song from the latest video there, I’ll add the older soundtracks over time!
Hi @saltdeity! For this one I mostly used Python to read the MIDI and WAV files from my music track, and use them to drive the animations or generate the shapes procedurally for each frame in Blender. For some of the 3D assets (like the spaceships) I used Adobe Medium so I could sculpt them in VR very rapidly. I still use VR sculpting today for making the 3D elements that go in most of my visuals, but I replaced the python scripting with a combination of custom software UIs and Blender's geometry nodes... So things are a lot easier now! If you hop into the newsletter on synwrks.com I'll be sharing more updates on the process as it evolves. Happy you enjoyed the journey!
@@Synwrks thank you so much! i’m building an immersive synesthesia/music game in unreal right now, but reference is really hard to come by. i appreciate you taking the time to talk to me, and will definitely keep an eye on that newsletter!
@@saltdeity that sounds awesome! Unreal is great for this kind of thing. In fact, the UI I mentioned building for my more recent works is partially in Unreal, because it gives me extremely precise previews of how the animation envelopes line up with the sound. I believe there is marketplace plug-ins out there to also easily sync music and game animations, so make sure to look those up and good luck with the project!
Epic😀
Tried this on the Quest 2 last night and had a blast!
Thank you Diego! Share and follow to catch Synesthesia 3! ;)
