It’s not often I see tutorials from a producer that I’m already a fan of, using examples from bands I already love. Keep these Will Yip videos coming! 😊
“You win that Grammy will? Good for the landfill. And did you beat Phil? And did you network well?? So grew another head for hydra.” -MWY I found out about will through that lyric and I love his mixes so much!!!
Good stuff. I dig the API Vision plug on pretty much all my drums for rock - that's my starting point. The 1073 sounded really good -- will experiment with it in the future.
What about the blue strip version was changed from the original LN 1176? I don't know would be good to know these things. I can't hear anyone else explaining that.
Noob question but why use a Neve EQ before the compression and then a totally different API EQ after the compressor? Are they offering something unique as individual EQ's? Why not just use the Neve again.... ? Thanks.
1176 brings too much room imo. Try using a 160VU @ 2:1 instead after the 1073 (i use the 1084 sometimes). Then last in chain a pultec @100 +3db and finally the icing on the cake is a fairly broad +5db @8k cycles. Call it a day! Cant go wrong with this chain.
Why is it always about processing rock music... If you made it more relevant to a bigger audience like Electronic / Dance / EDM you might sell more plugins

Neve pre and API EQ are effective and musical af. shouts to the team
No doubt family 🤘🏻
This is fantastic! I was already using the 1073 and black 1176. Excited to try this chain out - thanks, Will!
👍🏻
Loving these videos! I need to add the API EQ's to my collection

can you make one for hip hop? thanks
I use these settings on my vocals
Whatever works!!!! #norules!
Just got the 84.. but with a twin duo I’d probably have to run it as a bus due to dsp space
Why not just print the track to free up DSP?
Everything's great. Just these prices...not for everyone.
In case I don’t wanna go through the hassle of clearing a sample👍🏽😁
The snare track says some plugs have been committed (.cm.cm) What was done PRE this that we dont see? Thanks!
how am i supposed to listen if you speak
