When you do what you love and love what you do, there is not such thing as "to much work". Your garden is a reflection of yourself, beautiful, inviting and cozy; i am a big fan of potted plants because it gives me the advantage and opportunity of moving things around according to my mood 😆
Also realizing why you use the pebbles in your pots. You can use the stronger water spray when watering from afar without kicking up the dirt. Love it!
I feel the exact same way Linda, it's not "a chore" to me either. I live in New Mexico and go out in the mornings and water my potted plants, veggies, and perennial garden. I also do it in the evenings too, when we get really hot down here. It's so peaceful and therapeutic to care for and see your plants / veggies thrive everyday. I just love it! Thanks for sharing, I love your garden! :)
I love watering my plants, if you don't enjoy it you may not be that into gardening. For me it is almost like meditation to water and deadhead my plants.
I agree. It is not work to me. Taking care of my garden gives me peace. I work full time, but now since pandemic, from home. I love sneaking out for a few minutes and on my lunch break to enjoy my labor of love❣
Linda you are truly a wonderful gardener. I feel the love. 😊 Liked your idea of a bucket of fertilizer water and emersing the plants. Also loved that garden hose nozzle the way you can start and stop the water flow. Thank you for making my day more fun when watering my plants. 🌸
Although I live in a different part of the country, and different climate, I am learning so much from your videos. I have the opposite schedule: I have to work indoors in the morning and go outside in the afternoon AFTER IT'S WARM ENOUGH! Thank you; you are delightful.
Besides pruning, watering is my favorite activity because it allows me to spend time in my garden with my plants. You can use this time to take in the beauty of plants, relax your thoughts and observe their health and catch things before they become a problem. It doesn't feel like work to me, but gardening is my passion and I don't consider it work.
Lovely plants and garden! I love working in my gardens and don’t think of it as work. It’s also a form of therapy that takes my mind off the everyday stresses.
Another fun video--sharing your thoughts on watering while giving us a partial tour of your garden. Now I see how you keep all of those plants thriving in ever-thirsty clay pots. Thanks.
Thank you for the fertilizing in a bucket tip. That was a new one for me. And thank you for the stunning garden tour you gave a few days ago of your friends yard. Linda we need this. Thank you Oklahoma.
I too enjoying watering my plants with the hose. A good way to check and see what needs doing, pest control/trimming/weeding and so on. Also to just slow down and enjoy the time and the garden.
That’s great to know,I used to do watering my plants same like you,is very relaxing and the only way to have what’s going on in my garden and flowers pots,Tku for your time to sharing gardening ideas,God Bless You!
That was great I love watering my plants I just started my flower bed a year ago so my plants are now getting established. One day I would love to have more potted (furniture) plants in cement pots like you. I did splurge and bought my first aqua pot (Jack Barnwell) in Matt black.
Watering is relaxing. When I water I use a slower stream and a gentle spray to make sure the pot is fully saturated. Most plants, in pots and the ground, die from shallow watering. Your soak bucket is a great way to water the topiaries. 😊
Hello, I would have never guessed that you water so little in your climate. I absolutely love your garden design; your garden is breath taking. I will be incorporating more containers in my garden this year for some height. Looking forward to seeing more! Thank you and best wishes, Dorothy
I just love her videos so much. I can relate to her level of gardening. I used to watch another channel where the sweet couple have gone so out of control with their property it’s too much.
I find I have to water my pots for much longer to keep them going in the summer - especially, of course, those in full sun. Some days, I have to water twice.
I love hand watering because that way I can see if there are any bugs or problems as I have a really large garden with areas into which I don't go on a daily basis.
For your baskets used to hold plants spray them with polyurethane to help them a longer life outside. Anything to keep water from dissolving them. I live in Houston where we have lots of water and humidity.
I'm down with the watering techniques, mornings or evenings depending, but like your nozzle better for not having to use my thumb! I'll have to get! I learnt Lavender Topiary loves water. I'm just keeping mine indoors now. She doesn't like the Hot Full Sun on her and thats what my deck gets the majority of the day. She's content now! 😊 My English Lavender doesn't seem to mind the full sun on the otherhand 🤷♀️ .. go figure! Nice tip on deep watering. Thank you Linda! :)
I have to hand water a lot in pensacola fl I find it very meditating I have to watch myself not to overwater but since our rain is so lacking now it’s a constant.. I also adhere to ur method and love the adjustable spray wand!! Thanks for affirming my methods!!!! 💕
Thanks for the lovely visit to your garden - I love watering, though this year I'm putting in a complex irrigation system so we can go away - I'm gonna include pots in this system - but I may put all the pots in one place when we leave to keep it simple. I really like your 2 week soak with liquid organic fertilizer - what a great idea. Warmest regards Jennie
Love it..great info.. 🌹❤🙏I was viewing a couple of other channels and noticed one lady wearing flip flops and planting and another one wear water boots. I just thought it was funny people asking you about your gardening wardrobe..lol..oh well..Take care Linda.🙏
My garden looks similar, but my trees are fruit and veggies. It’s my 30 minutes of relaxing, clear my mind of the days tasks. My favorite part is under my arbor where I just reach up and grab a handful of grapes.
Dear Linda. May you make video about planting in concrete planters. Do you sealed them from inside? I heard that minerals from concrete can kill the plant. Sorry for my grammar, but English is not my language. Thank you.
Hi Linda! Love your videos! I’m curious, do you use a different soil mix with your ‘furniture’ potted plants than your ‘throw pillow’ potted plants? Or simply use the same potting mix for all? TIA! Keep up the great videos!
Have you written any gardening books? I could picture a nice "coffee table" book of your garden with all kinds of tips and photography....maybe featuring various seasons.
Love looking at your beautiful plants, Linda!! How often do you water during the hot midsummer? How often do you feed your plants?? Love all your pots!!
Lovely Hydrangea plant at 14m. I've grown cuttings for Hydrangea, Hebe, Buddleia, Spirea & Lavender. Most of these are on my channel header and I made a new Hebe video which shows these cuttings on their journey into big shrubs/plants. Happy Growing :)
Your garden is abundant in foliage and flower! How do you ever minimize your mosquito population to where you are able to enjoy your shorts as you stroll through it?
Hi. I’m a novice gardener. I’m trying to get informed and do it right. However, many people say different things. From a previous video, I saw that you live on a hot climate. I live in Houston, Texas. It gets hot here. I have a lavender topiary and two other potted lavender plants. I see that their flowers droop during the day. I’m so afraid to water them daily because I keep hearing that they don’t like too much water. Since you’re in a similar climate, I trust that your tips will be more useful for me. I don’t want to kill my plants by overwatering. I hear that rosemary abs lavender should be watered every 2-3 wks. I haven’t gone that long. I normally water them once a week, but they’re not thriving. My rosemary is browning in one side, and my lavender flowers wilted and got pale with a bit of brown. Should I water them daily? I really appreciate you sharing your expertise.
Hi Linda! I love your beautiful garden! Where did you get the concrete planter and the wicker basket? It’s the first “furniture” plant that you watered in the video. And is there a secret to prolonging the longevity of the basket? Where did you buy the pot and basket? What are some examples of plants you water to knock odd them mites and aphids? What is the water rate per gallon per hour is your drip on? I just installed mine and have no idea! I need that hose holder and hose! The handheld sprayer helps me a lot, as I have tendinitis! Thank you!
@@LindaVater It is an easy fix. Makes watering your plants so much more enjoyable, instead of getting soaked and wasting money on water. Enjoy your day, Gerry 😎

I start my day watering my garden. It’s a lovely contemplative time for me. Great video!
When you love to garden like some people do , watering can be a pleasure. 🌈
I love watering my plants, if you don't enjoy it you may not be that into gardening. For me it is almost like meditation to water and deadhead my plants.
Same for me. I enjoy the daily ritual of watering my container plants.
I agree. It is not work to me. Taking care of my garden gives me peace. I work full time, but now since pandemic, from home. I love sneaking out for a few minutes and on my lunch break to enjoy my labor of love❣
Agreed!!! 💯
I enjoy it until summer when I’m hopping around trying to keep the mosquitoes from devouring me.
I agree. It's very therapeutic.

I absolutely love your videos. They are so helpful and informative and give me lots of gardening ideas that I have never thought about doing. 🌺🌸🌼🌹
I love the hose box - I haven't seen anything like that in the UK but I can see that it would work better than a cart. Lovely video, thank you.
The metal tray table you use to keep water under the topiaries is brilliant. This fixes an issue in one of my garden rooms. Thanks!
I agree with this analogy. Cleaning up my landscape is like cleaning up a room inside the house. Gotta keep it tidy.
Plants are like human they needs care. Thank you for making this video mam.
I'd love to see drone images of your gardens one day please
Great info. Love the hint about putting small pots in tub of water .. I enjoy watering early in the morning too❤️😊❤️

Great tip about starting with your hose all the way out to prevent kinking. Brilliant! Why didn’t I think of that? 🤦🏻♀️

You have cultivated an absolutely beautiful garden....you should be very proud!

Thanks for showing us how you “Vater” your plants! 😆💐💦
Great teacher! I have learned a lot from your videos.. thanks!!

You have got a gorgeous garden.. breath taking
Beautiful garden & great tips! Thank you!
Love looking at your beautiful plants, Linda!! How often do you water during the hot midsummer? How often do you feed your plants?? Love all your pots!!
You also need to add a washer where your sprayer is connected to the hose. This will stop the dripping water that would drive me crazy girl!
Such a beautiful garden!! 💗💗
Great watering tips loved it
Love watching all your videos 🌸
beautiful garden! I noticed you put gravel rocks in your planting pots. So that won't harm the plants? You just gave me an idea to do. Thanks!
The gravel keeps the squirrels from digging my pots, and might keep a bit more moisture in the soil.

Beautiful garden. I love my yard too.
Your gardens are beautiful 💕💕
Thank you for being so specific. I appreciate your techniques. Could you do the same thing and explain how you fertilize?
How long did it take for your garden to get that beautiful?
About 6 years. Une lived here for 30
Im here for the first time, Your Garden is amazing❣️ I do enjoy it❣️😀🌱
What do you do about fertilizing? Do you do this each week, using what?
Your garden is abundant in foliage and flower! How do you ever minimize your mosquito population to where you are able to enjoy your shorts as you stroll through it?
So sorry for your loss Linda. So sad to lose a friend. 😪
beautiful, what a great and amazing garden; something extraordinary :)
Interesting submersion technique
Love everything you do. I’m looking for new garden boots - do you have a recommendation?
