The guy on the right obviously doesn't watch the games. Compare Williams first and second half stats. He's terrible when the game is close, but dinks and dunks down the field when he's down by 20 and the defense is playing prevent. His stats are trash time stats.

It’s funny how we look at Caleb situation now, and want to nit pick it. The reason they didn’t bring in a vet Qb to compete/show him the ropes is bc this is the same guy that felt he “deserve” to start as a freshmen with Rattler was there, deserved to be the number 1 pick bc he “done what it takes”
Reason I love another Qb in this class that I won’t name bc I’m not comparing, but he didn’t feel entitled to anything, a vet was brought in to compete, he accepted the challenge and won the job, the stories of being first one in at 5am, EARNING the respect of teammates, nothing given, and he’s shown with lesser talent to able to elevate the guys around him unlike Caleb

Agree, way too early to talk about him being broken. He also has some big issues that did not get better all season. If anything they got worse. He can’t read defenses, he holds the ball way too long, and his accuracy is a real issue. Let’s hope the Bears can get someone in the building to help him, because he’s looked bad. So much of his stats come in garbage time.

I don’t think Caleb is broken beyond repair but he’s close. This is karma for Lovie Smith and also should have kept Justin Fields!
The Bears along with the terrible organizations in the NFL don’t know how to develop a quarterback let alone build around them correctly!
They could have kept Fields and build around him and the offensive line by drafting Alt since building the trenches is important.
But the bears went to the flash in the pan that is overhyped Caleb, he’s going to bust!

  • @tingo9600

He’s not broken. Look at Bryce Young having a resurgence now. Caleb needs to look in the mirror in the off season and the Bears need to get him a good offensive minded coach. Look at what Kyle Shanahan has done with. Jimmy G and Brock Purdy who are nowhere near as talented.

Good call, that probably is how he did it in college, but the NFL is a different ballgame: I've heard the suggestions that maybe he should sit out this last game against the dreaded Packers, and that may be a good idea: It would be disastrous if he were to get injured or suffer a concussion in a game that has no meaning: let the back up QB get some reps! :)

Caleb will be fine when he finally checks his ego at the door. He STILL hasn’t learned he can’t continuously get away with doing dumb $h!+ like he did at USC. “But…but..he made the 4th down conversion going off script…but…but…what about the throw for the TD he made that got called back?!” Yes..almost as impressive as managing to get sacked when he had 7 seconds to get rid of it. Learning to recognize the blitz wouodnt hurt either. I’m probably one of the only people that thinks this humbling season was GOOD for him long term. He will be fine..not generational…maybe not even a consistent pro bowler….but he’ll be borderline top 10 within a few years.

You cannot put the blame on the skill player when all of the skill players are having a down years of it was only DJ then, yes blame DJ. When DJ, Kennan don’t look like they will reach 1,000 yards and Cole Kmet is looking to have a worse statistical season since his rookie year where he only had 243 yards. He had 544 yards in 2022 but it looks like he won’t even reach those numbers. Swift looks like he won’t reach 1,000 yards.
DJ could possible get to 1,000 yards if he gets 120 yards in week 17, but that is a big IF.
When these players all have a down year it’s not on them.

I listen to all these “been there done that” analysis that these guys give, but the ONE THING NONE OF THEM has said was, Kliff could’ve coached Caleb if he wanted to. HE CHOSE Jayden Daniel’s. That’s all the information you need! If the coach Caleb tried to get there to Chicago said no, ask yourself is it the Bears or him?! 🤔🤔 You should’ve kept Justin, traded Caleb and got another haul and this team would have the pick of the liter in the next 3-4 drafts. Ryan Poles phucked it up! He wanted “his guy.” He was not thinking what was best for this team. Your #1 receiver kept saying don’t trade Justin. What Poles do? Traded Justin. As well as Roquon. 😂😂😂 I should be a GM

I’m getting sick of this take! He is on a bad team with bad coaching, and like THE MAJORITY OF ROOKIE QBs EVER, his team isn’t winning. If you look at his probable final stats, he will have 20ish touchdowns, 3500ish yards, and only around 6-7 interceptions. Again, he is surrounded by incompetence with a bad team and is a rookie. Just because the expectations were unfairly high because of the flash in the pan win streak to end last year and the season cj stroud had, everyone is saying he is a bust. HE IS NOT. judge him after year 2 and 3, like you do every other rookie qb.
