    Congrats on the purchase. It’s a great car, and I’d say hands down the best vehicle purchase you can make at the price point.
    Long term these STIs will very likely be remembered fondly.
    I have an 18 STI myself - in Michigan (yooper). Had from 7 miles to 66,000 and still going strong. I’m planning to collect mine long term.
    Cheers to joining the STI club 🥂

      And that’s amazing!!
      I know you must be taking very good care of your STI.
      I also plan to keep my STI for the life of it assuming the world will allow it to survive for a very long time! It’s definitely a fun car and I haven’t gotten bored of it one bit!

    Congrats on your Subie. Loved the reasons you gave, I share many of them. "A car that means something to you" is perhaps becoming an underappreciated quality, if you look at the trend towards generic-looking and sounding cars (and many would argue Subaru is heading that way too).
    Personally I think they are hard to beat as an all-round package for the price - plenty fun and awd performance, sounds great, a wide variety of aftermarket parts if customizing is your thing... wagons available if you want more practicality. Economy lets them down a bit, but if that's not a deal-breaker then they are fantastic cars. My 2001 will hopefully be my daily for a long time to come, and it continues to put a smile on my face every time I get in (or look back at it).
    Subbed to your channel, and am enjoying your content :)

      Thank You!! Yea exactly, when you have a car that has some kind of meaning to you, you’re more likely to be more invested on improving and maintaining the car you have rather than constantly trying to chase the next trendy thing.
      And that’s awesome! You can’t beat the feeling of loving your car, knowing you made the right decision!
      Thanks so much!! I’m really glad you’re enjoying my content! ✌️😄

    Honestly one of the best Subi channels - if not the best - I've ever come across.
    Why? Simply because the way its content is presented, how it's videotaped and directed,
    the oral commentary, the choice of soundtracks and effects, and camera angles,
    all are pleasing, comforting to ears and eyes. The fact that you're communicative with your viewers/subscribers is also great.
    Contrary to other RUclipsrs like Smeedia, Daniel Kellert and BaderBuilt who present their content TERRIBLY to say the least.
    Their channels are so incredibly annoying, distracting, irritating, fuzzy, overlapped and boring to the point I can't complete watching
    a single video, the soundtracks are the most ridiculous. Or channels like Scoobyfreak that cannot put his ideas together,
    in another words - contradicting and confusing. Please, keep up the good work. Liked and subscribed.

      Thanks for the awesome compliment!! I love and respect all those guys content and they've definitely helped me learn but I know their style and mine aren't necessarily for everyone so I'm glad you're enjoying my style of content ✌️

    • @aquapisces24

      @@STi_AlanThey surely are experienced and knowledgeable no doubt but what's the point if they fail to present that knowledge, they do not even respectfully take any viewers' feedback into consideration.
      I like channels such as Mr. Subaru (despite not dedicating his channel for performance Subaru cars but rather Subarus in general), also there's that cool channel named "SubaruONLY" and some few other channels such as "JayEmm on Cars" and of course yours. I hope you stay a true Subaru enthusiast however unlike formerly known "ElsaSTI" now "the white Tesla" what a bummer.

    Nice video! I just moved to a state where snow is actually a thing lol. The STI has been my dream car, and I'm finally in a position where I can actually own one. I also don't have to drive much for my new job now, so reliability and fuel economy aren't as big of a concern anymore. But I'm like you, the STI isn't the best on paper, but it checks all the boxes for me and I just freakin want one so I'm getting it lmao.
    There's one with a branded title but a stock motor and a Tomei catback near me that's got my eye. I know branded title cars have a stigma, but when you can get a low mileage STI for under $30k, it's stupidly tempting. I'd really just like to own one before they get any older. I love my Sonata N-Line, it's quick with the tune and mods I have. But it doesn't have the an LSD or aftermarket support.
    How was your buying experience with Vroom? I snoop around there from time to time.

    • @STi_Alan
      @STi_Alan  Год назад

      Thanks, you'll love the STI especially in the snow!
      I know it's tempting to get a branded title car and with enough research in some situations it might make sense. From my experience with my clean title STI and clean driving record, my insurance is through the roof, so insurance on a branded title STI could play a factor in the overall price.
      The only major complaint I had with Vroom was not receiving my title and registration before my temp tags expired and they took a while to give me more temp tags but this was also in January 2022, since then they probably aren't as swamped with orders and they also have a new CEO, so it's not a bad option if you can find a really good deal. The car itself arrived in less than a week after signing the papers!

    • @rekt_n_line
      @rekt_n_line Год назад +1

      @@STi_Alan Thanks for the reply! I decided against a branded title car after some research. The one I was looking at was flood damaged, no thanks.
      I personally want to find a lower mileage example, even if I have to fork over more cash. My main thing is I want one that's been unmodified. A fear I have is that I'd buy one that's been modified, beaten on, and then returned to stock to sell. I know I said reliability wasn't really a concern, but I think the reliability stigma for these cars comes from people blowing them up by heavily or improperly modifying them. What are your thoughts on this?
      I'd honestly only want to put a catback and leave the engine tuning stock. My main focus would probably be cosmetics.

    • @STi_Alan
      @STi_Alan  Год назад

      Good choice!
      I also wanted a stock STI and I could tell when I got it that it had been returned to stock to sell it and probably beaten on a little bit. But many places including Vroom let you check the car fax for free so you can see if there have been any accidents and all the maintenance done on the car.
      The factory warranty is 36,000 miles for 3 years so if you find a stock one around that mileage you probably have a better chance that it wasn’t super modified since really intrusive modifications typically will void the warranty

    I got a 2021 STI back in 2021 new! I agree I love my car as well! I do have to say I do miss the rumble of the big boy V8's, but this has one of the best sounding 4 cylinder engine to ever exist so its not bad, i was gonna get a mustang or a scat pack challenger but everyone told me to stay away from them for a daily cuz of the snow we get.

      @STi_Alan  Год назад +1

      Nice!! V8’s do sound
      amazing but the STI has definitely been the smart choice for a fun all season daily and the sound of the boxer engine is so unique that it still gets recognized even when it’s not as robust as a v8

      @@STi_Alan Thank you. I'm just so glad I owned the base model 2017 WRX and now this 2020 STI. The EJ engine is more superior than the FA 20. I really wish we all could have gotten the FA 24 in an STI.

    • @lucian7182
      @lucian7182 Год назад

      @@paulmarsdensr1095I owned a heavily modded 08 Wrx , a 2020 Wrx and currently a 21 sti. As a daily driver the fa20 is by far superior, for aggressive driving on the twisties the sti wins hands down. You can drop 2-2500 into the Wrx and put down 300 whp reliably. For the sti you spend damn near that just on reliability mods to fix oem design flaws.

    when pressuring washing the car try to avoid the hood scoop. It’s the first thing to fade fast as the clear coat is super thin.
