Hi Laura, I said I could watch your videos all day well I have figured out why I like them so much. You are a real person, not sponsored by any one and you ride your own bike. It might not look like like much but by god it can put some miles on. And I like that ain't always talking about nothing and everything, what you have to say has a reason and not only that but I think you are a lovely person as well. If I lived in Canada I would be so proud and amazed to ride with you. Keep on riding and stay safe ❤

Beautiful post! Never been to NWT, but when we rode the beautiful Klondike Hwy from Whitehorse, YT to Skagway, Alaska, I was stunned by the gorgeous rugged beauty of the tundra in the Tormented Valley.
We were 2-up on my husband’s Electra Glide, but I’m an 883 Sportster rider myself, and love following your adventures! My 30-year old 883 is my forever bike! Ride safe, & thanks for your posts!

So pleased to see you enjoying your beautiful country. I saw the Tundra when riding the Dempster highway to the Arctic Circle. Beautiful and yet strange. Not really dry there, as the tundra you walked upon was a bit spongey. The black flies and mosquitos that seemed to pester you reminded me of riding across Labrador to Newfoundland a few years ago. Hope you make that trip too. A beautiful country and you make it an absolute pleasure to go on "tour" with you.

@@solo.roader I'm sure your wondering if the 883 could handle it. Probably yes. In the interest of full disclosure, I was riding to Alaska with a couple who were two up on a Harley. Scott wanted to go up the Dempster but we hadn't really discussed it. I was on a Goldwing. I'd been riding about a year and a half at that point. We went up the bumpy gravely road about twenty miles to a park display. It was raining. I was ready to head back south but Scott talked to a member of the RCMP who was based in Inuvik. "He said the road is no worse than what we've already been traveling on... so let's go to the Circle." I was dubious, but Scott had hundreds of thousands of bike miles under his belt. So on the summer solstice of 2016 we rode north. Spent the night at Eagle Plains camping and the next morning went the remaining 30 miles north. I shudder today when I think of taking the Goldwing up there. Honestly don't know how I did it but, aside from the rain, it was uneventful. I'd love to go back riding my Super Tenere to Inuvik... but at age 73, that isn't likely to happen. To be at the Circle on the Longest Day of the year was truly, truly unforgettable. I hope you can make that trip someday. It is well worth it. Make it happen Laura. It is simply a matter of choice really. Do it.

@@solo.roaderthanks for the reply Laura. Btw Im really enjoying your videos which just popped up on my feed as if by magic! In particular they make me appreciate the sheer , wild, vastness of Canada, such a different "vibe" to the US, which is obviously also amazingly beautiful. Riding like you do, on that bike, brings back how it was 40 years or more ago when I started doing it....people just toured on whatever they had - no obsession back then with having to have "the right bike" to do it on. You may not realize it, but you really are "old school". I"m inspired by you , as I am by Itchy Boots (Norally) and the guys who make Joy Machine - and Im still riding with my wife EVERY chance we get. Thanks.

Love that area up there and about the burned forest, we get a lot of that here. Three fires this last week within about 100 miles of me. We even had a mandatory evacuation at my house a couple of years ago but we were spared the fire getting too close. I like that Africa Twin, after my BMW days the first Honda I got was an Africa Twin AS, loved the bike but too tall and top heavy. Now downsized but a bigger bike is better on the highways so thinking about another Africa Twin (on the top model they have put a smaller front wheel and lowered the bike so although still heavy I could flat foot) so giving it some thought along with a Triumph Tiger. But my current bikes are totally decked out for travel so we will see. Always a project with these bikes!
