How to WIN your debut Mazda MX-5 Cup race (starting P9)!

- Join me for the first race of the Mazda MX-5 Cup at Spa which was my debut race in this series!
Managed to get P2 in qualifying. Race 1 had a reversed grid for the top 10 which resulted in a 9th starting position.
After a hard but fair battle with Bas Schouten I managed to re-take the lead in the very last lap.

The orange car is definitely being controlled by the player character of our world, and he's definitely a middle schooler discovering forza
No idea how this came across my feed, but super dope race. I kept thinking "he's just taking way better lines" almost the whole video.
This was better than watching an entire season of f1

You can tell around the 13:00 min mark he became bloodthirsty and started driving like a mad man to catch up.. dudes got what the call the “racers edge”🏎💨
i understand it isn’t real but i get similar in sim racing. It’s like you suddenly have the ability to be Ayrton Senna just because you want it so bad 😅
@@KlarStar real or not, the adrenaline rush is still the same :-)
@@saltwiththat I'm not so sure. Adrenaline will be higher in real life as your sitting in that fucking car driving at crazy speeds.
@@KlarStar that has also happened to me on sim racing, you just enter "the zone" and for me I just become faster than before with my mind completely empty just hearing the car. I get fastet than if I consciously try to go faster

These cars come as stock cars and are rebuilt here, the immobilizer is built into the instrument cluster. A way around it it too costly for a small spec series like this.
@@Pathfinder3877 that makes sense! Didn't think about the immobilizer, definitely a good idea to keep as much stock as you can for cost purposes. Thanks for the explanation!
Awesome drive. When I win a simrace it feels incredible, I can't imagine how it must feel to do it for real. The adrenaline must be PUMPING!

because there's an safety system where the car detects that you moved fast from acceleration pedal to the brake, and it's for advertising the guy behind to brake like when there's a problem on a highway :)
it's amazing how straight he keeps the wheel most of the time. turns in then counter-steers at just the right angle. he is a very skilled driver.

I've been looking for this video for at least 2 months now. Glad I found it again.
This guy has balls of steel. When he wave to the car behind him saying let’s catch the leader, his pace jumped breakneck speed. He was driving the limits of the car the whole race. Imagine racing for 30 minutes and having to correct the car the whole time, at speeds of 100+. Great driving!
This looks like so much fun, I also want to race these things at some point in my life
That over-under overtake that you setup to take P1 again at the last lap I saw coming. Beautiful move to seal the win. Your defensive positioning after Eau rogue is great. The inside line gives you an advantage for 3 of the 4 corners. Also the way you make the car turn in during that fast 4th gear left hander is sublime (forgot the corner name). Good luck man. Keep at it, I will be following.

Great race! Awesome job keeping calm the whole way through. I find it insane how close iRacing is to this feeling (apart from the rain) the engine sounds, the look, the FoV and details als spot on in the game.

You had such great control over the car, must have been terrifying in the rain!

When second place took the lead for part of the last lap, he got really defensive. Good job putting the pressure on them to force them wide while you take the cut back. Very good strategy.

Just found this. Last overtake, cutting off the wind... beautiful.
At lap 4 first right corner, that overtake looked 4 me as (maybe) a cutoff (without mirror or side view camera), but the whole race you dominated them with better lines and you drove more precisely on the edge. The last "mind game" overtaking were epic

I'm mostly surprised by how clean and shiny is everything.
Usually race cars look like garbage on the inside. Dirt, trash and wires literally everywhere. Every single think that could crack is cracked and tied with zipties. Generally disgusting looking.
But not this one. This is hella clean.
