We use high speed video cameras in strong steel boxes with 10mm thick plastic glass protecting the lens. Set up 3 hours before blowdown. Footage used in post demolition review meeting.
Two towers were very very close to live overhead power lines. Keltbray needed to physically make the test tower that was clear of power lines to move away whilst fully intact, then stop, then fall down in an anticlockwise rotation. And they achieved this. So they applied the same controlled engineering principals on two of the four towers that were demolished later. Amazing how they made the whole tower walk in a set direction. Very clever and engineered to perfection. Not many firms could do this.
I Loved The Sound Of That Demolition!

What?
The sound of ecomical war, baby!!!!
Why did they need to do a test tower when demolishing cooling towers is becoming quite common?

@@skycaptainaerialimaging5980 Very interesting and thank you for the explanation!
@@skycaptainaerialimaging5980 Is that why 3 of the cooling towers are staying up?
Which station was that?
Eggborough or Ferrybridge?
Ferrybridge
My bad.
Of course, Eggborough had 2 stacks.
Cheers.
HMMM put a big fan at the top opening attached to a generator. Paint the cooling tower black and enjoy electricity forever.
Myślę to wyburzenie?
Hmmm?

Cool
How?
What did you do to get that close?
No!
He placed cameras everywhere before the demolition
I love the sound!
