I've started from scratch as a new Moto Dad and have leaned on RUclips for repair info, riding info and training tutorials. Both of my kids are loving their dirt bikes and I think the sport teaches them a TON about responsibility and accountability.
As a recommendation, I am not pushing my boys beyond their comfort level. They will get faster with time and with more riding practice - nothing will ever teach a kid more about dirt bikes than time spent on the bike.
We want them to grow the fundamentals such as acceleration, braking, body positioning and most importantly, to have FUN!
