Get a "structural ridgeline" for your hammock, it's like a night and day difference. You can make your own pretty cheaply or just buy one for like 20 bucks. They allow for a much flatter lay. Also lay diagonally, you can get flatter that way too.
I’ve used mine about 3-4 times. I have never had it last through the night without losing air. I am 5’9” 175lbs. When you wake up it’s folded up around you like a taco. It might work for a while, but not through the night. Just my experience. I’ve talked to customer service, read about them on forums. “Overinflate the pad” they say, fine, did that, still loses air by morning. For $400+ I should have just bought something different.
This is exactly why i just go with a regular hammock. Can just sleep crossed and it's fairly flat for side sleeping. I sleep like a rock in it while in the forest, compared to tossing and turning all night in a regular bed.
should add a bug net that sags below but doesn’t touch the ground. when you’re in more extreme environments, like where i travel to, you tend to run into a problem with the bugs being massive and can sting you through the bottom of the hammock. only solution i’ve found is to add layers to the bottom to make a wall but then it’s cramped and warm.
There is a spray you can use on the outside of your hammock. You can get it at Walmart or Dick's sporting goods. It only smells for a bit. The best part it lasts for 3 months repelling the bugs. We use it on our tents. If that doesn't work, there are really thin plastic cutting boards that roll up that you could use to line the bottom of your hammock. They're very light.

Just bought an XL with the works and cold weather kit. This is perfect for packing in the camper for extra sleep space when we have people camping with us that won’t fit inside.
I’d need the mosquito netting; no way could I simply pull over a rain fly. I can hear a mosquito a mile off, and they home in on me as their best meal of the day.
The only negative I see is needing trees to tie on to sleep. Just make sure there’s no animals around bc if so you become like a burrito for a bear. lol
I sleep on the ground, a good sleeping bag to stay dry and warm is all I've ever packed, if its very cold season I might pack silver thermal underlayer sheet, camped in snow like this, but then I LOVE being outdoors, grew up in the country and am just happiest outside, not a huge fan of this "bring my city life to the campsite" style camping.
@@alexhetherington8028 Two reasons: The bed is soft and warm and cozy, and YOU are there, dog want to snuggle and sleep in a pile with the other pack members.
I made my own, a fishing net for the hammock, o lay on a sleeping bag insert which doubles as a blanket. I have mosquitoe netting above me and I use a military grade poncho as a tent if it rains. I use the poncho while walking if it's raining and the netting I have tested for fishing just to prove it worked, it did. I use paracord to secure each end of hammock around two trees and run a line above to tent mosquitoe netting and poncho.
"I use a military grade poncho as a tent if it rains. " So you only have 7 feet of coverage? "paracord to secure each end of hammock around two trees " How often do you wake up with your butt on the ground using that stretchy stuff?
@wisenber it works fine. Edit: after reading all your comments my thinks you may be a salesman of these things and don't want someone suggesting a cheaper, alt-use replacement.
@@garrett6064 You'd be the first. Paracord is designed to stretch under the load of a parachute, else the jumper would get ripped in half. That's why most hammock suspensions use low stretch materials. That, and ponchos are 7x5.
@wisenber I don't know why you're arguing about it. You think you're suddenly going to convince me that something I've been doing for fifteen years doesn't work?
Alot of people are commenting on his statement at the end of the video about it not being light but being comfy .. just wanted to chime in that its a really nice use of a sales tactic Ive heard people call it a "but" statement before. Place the negative feature first in a statement then add "but" then positive selling point. Our brains prioritize the last thing we hear in a sentence more than the beginning. So the positive ending outweighs the negative beginning. It also is a way to build trust since you highlight a flaw. It's a very effective way to sell with honesty of flaws while still building value. Another good one is "its expensive but the quality is unmatched"
it only works because luggage weight is a logical sacrifice for resting comfort. if he was like, its not the lightest system but its the prettiest... you get the point
Plus he protects his products image. If people come back and bash the weight in reviews because a hammock should be light, ppl can just point to the fact that the company noted this themselves and lightweight backpack camping wasn't the target market.
love the native american pattern theme on the rain fly. i'm gonna need the additional green camo type version of that too. sleep way up in the canopy with a view!

I’d need the mosquito netting; no way could I simply pull over a rain fly. I can hear a mosquito a mile off, and they home in on me as their best meal of the day.
Every tent comes with a bug net! ✌️
Great demo, love the honesty:)
I NEED this. I do international humanitarian medical aid as a volunteer and this would be an absolute game changer.
That's a great idea!
The only negative I see is needing trees to tie on to sleep. Just make sure there’s no animals around bc if so you become like a burrito for a bear. lol
Does it come with the pole and stands?
How do you get into doing that kind of volunteering?
Make sure you get one with a secure mosquito net. *that secures tightly - snakes can crawl in some nets that are not well built
It's a Bear burrito 🎉
Thank you, I knew there was a bear joke in there I just couldn't pull it.
The ol’ Bearrito. Usually found at ground level, but in this case it is air-fried at about 2’
@@naturaljoe759 nope
Hope not! Tent or hammock it’s good to be cautious while in bear country. Here’s a blog post I did on the subject 🐻 haventents.com/a/blog/bear-pinata
Why you have a shotgun next to you. 😂
Being somebody that travels and prefers sleeping in a hammock… I love this!
I sleep in a ENO hammock every night and its so comfortable so I bet this is heavenly
Right On! Cool Tent!
Man I would love one of these. I’d love to be able to afford one too 😂
Me too
Same, don't have the extra $350
I love it . I want one of these in my room ❤❤
The dog not understanding hoomans needing so many accommodations for sleeping when all dog needs is ground is priceless
Dogs want to be in the bed with their humans snuggling 😴
So why did my dog always want to get in my bed and sleep with me 😂
@@alexhetherington8028 Two reasons: The bed is soft and warm and cozy, and YOU are there, dog want to snuggle and sleep in a pile with the other pack members.
My dog will not lay on anything that isn't a blanket or cushioned.
The sit up strap sold me sick bro 🔥😎👌
My favorite part was the cute lil' doggo at the end!
There is another part?
The doggo at the end going to love sleeping with his homan there 🥹❤️
An ultralight version would be amazing!
Check out Hennessy hammocks. Super light, fast, and comfortable. Have had one for over 10 years.
Looks great and very useful ... to install on my porch
Straight to the point and no bs I like it
This looks really cool!
Why thank you 😊
I love mine, and it can be set up as a ground tent too
This man can explain better than me, I need him as a friend so he can convince my partner to buy everything that I want 😅
Honey, I know right! Tell me about it.
Never mind camping, I want that in my bedroom! Looks more comfy than my bed 😊
Would be great for car camping, maybe Even beach days. Looks like a great product.
Clever,& efficient !!
"I use a military grade poncho as a tent if it rains. "
So you only have 7 feet of coverage?
"paracord to secure each end of hammock around two trees "
How often do you wake up with your butt on the ground using that stretchy stuff?
@wisenber it works fine.
Alot of people are commenting on his statement at the end of the video about it not being light but being comfy .. just wanted to chime in that its a really nice use of a sales tactic
Ive heard people call it a "but" statement before.
I agree but it's probably because many camping ads boast about the lightness.
Plus he protects his products image. If people come back and bash the weight in reviews because a hammock should be light, ppl can just point to the fact that the company noted this themselves and lightweight backpack camping wasn't the target market.
@@epicmonkeydrunk true but in reality weight is a non issue for anyone using this system. Nobody is backpacking with this
love the native american pattern theme on the rain fly. i'm gonna need the additional green camo type version of that too. sleep way up in the canopy with a view!
This could even be a cot substitute in a house with too many guests! Love it!
I was literally waiting for him to flip her around!!!😂😂😂😂
When the sales rep wants to check you out and not make it obvious.😂
😂😂😂😂😂😂
I thought it was just my dirty mind, but I see I was not the only one 😅
OK try sleeping on your stomach! OK now let me show you how the tent accommodates two people!
heh heh, respect is all that is required at any time...females respond to a respectful man
Too funny. He's an ass man for sure.
This has always been the idea for a perfect hammock. Its cool to finally see it in reality!
This would probably sell pretty well down here in Australia it looks breathable so you wont sweltering in the sun that insect net to keep out our Lovecraftian spiders of down under all with a rain shield anyway you can get an estimate on the cost of one of these in AUD. Thanks mate 🤙
Thanks! We have a retail partner in Australia you can find them on our site under the international section. Haventents.com
Yeah $400 au what's the life expectancy?
Look really good don’t they? I agree they will do well down here in Australia, especially being able to keep the spiders out but being able to bring breeze in, it looks fantastic.
$400???? Is wild 🤯
@@MamaRobynRSure but you're pricing in a lot of convenience and comfort (the latter being quite valuable). So long as they have a good return policy, for those that can't 'try before buy', its an investment worth making.
Love the dog!
He's like, "is there a pup version for me?!"
This is actually great for wet environments keeps you off of the ground, and away from most bugs or critters
I love the cute dog😊😊😊
It seems like it can even be installed indoors for the occasional guest. As long as there are strong brackets in the wall, it can be put up in a jiffy 👍
You can use a pair of tripods instead of wall brackets. You can easily make one too.
@@kyleanuar9090I would like to have something like what is used in this demo. Do you know of a company that makes these?
Bears love these, its like a burrito to them..
Not much you can do about bears
You don’t have to use a hammock in the woods 😂 it’s called a back yard… or hell… if you’re in the city stick this bad boy in your apartment or on the patio
🤣😂
Stay inside
Tents are no better city slicker
I wish he demo’d the bug net, I feel like having that with the rain fly open would be so perfect with the comfort and view
I have owned this now for over a year. This is better than my bed. I find myself sleeping in my porch almost every day of the week instead of sleeping in my bed.
Ooh, I could need this, in my living room 😂.
True 😂
This would actually change the quality of life for so many houseless people and refugees. ✨
yeah homeless people need $300 tents
Takes a lot of space 😮
Hmmm less than a ground tent. Just sayin’ ✌️
@@HavenTentsmy solo tent is way WAY smaller than this lol
Bears are getting excited about this wonderful food serving tray.
Bears out there watching this and drooling... drooling... drooling... nom-nom 👍🏻
Hope not! Tent or hammock it's good to be cautious while in bear country. Here's a blog post we did on the subject 🐻 haventents.com/a/blog/bear-pinata
Whats the weight limit on this bad boy ..i want one.
The standard and XL are rated to 285. Safari is rated to 350. But it’s held more than 2000 lb!
Seriously, this should be the one item they can take on “Naked and Afraid”. It could solve a few of their problems right out the gate! ❤ Love it!!! 😍
Nah, it's shoes. You should ALWAYS go for shoes.
Mosquito spray or shoes. 4N&A
Imagine carrying this by yourself at insertion😂 through the jungle
Learn to make one from your surroundings....😮
Not only does it do all these things, but it's also a raised feeding bowl for any bears that may come along and want a quick snack
Was just thinking that over.....
You don't honestly camp with your food in your tent do you? 😮 Bear can. It's kinda heavy but it will save your life. Plus you can use it as a camp chair, or a little table. Triangle of safety guys. Sleep, food storage and cooking should be as far apart as realistically possible in your campsite. The bearritos joke was funny but, seriously stay safe out there.
And sleeping on the ground is safer from bears?
Its like a happy meal for bears. I want one!
Reminds me of the hammocks I made while serving in the Marines. We used the shelter half, mosquito netting and poncho to make the hammock.
That thing looks super sweet!
I dont even camp bit this looks like heaven!
Wow thats perfect ! Love the idea.
Thank you! Cheers!
Looks awesome
I absolutely love how honest he is
I'd definitely buy this. just wait till i get my first job, imma buy you.
I need these for my daughter, teen sleepovers
It looks so nice! I want it for my apartment!
This looks great I like it.✨👏
My buddy got this when it was a startup, he uses it when he goes canoe camping! Its sick and even comes with a cute little banner to hang up at camp.
@@graceanne8917 hope he uses the banner!!
Highlight. . . how easily she got out of it! Everything else is a bonus. Love it, hope it isn't outrageously expensive.
Wow!!! That's incredible 👍
