  • This was the 4th day and I think the 16th Viper flight.
I did a series of stall test which I entered from a vertical climb out. Full throttle to altitude then shut the blower off. Once stopped in the vertical, I held full up elevator until the break. I performed this series no flap, mid flap and full flap. Under carriage retracted and no aileron input.
The stalls with flaps up were soft and predicable. The nose dropped before pitching back to almost level before dropping back down in a series of sluggish yo-yo maneuvers. The wings stayed level with no aileron input.
The stalls with the flaps deployed, in the mid and full position had an abrupt wing tip drop, nose down and 1/4 spiral departure while holding full up elevator and no aileron input. Once the elevator back stick was relaxed to neutral the model quickly stabilized in a nose down attitude. Flaps retracted and throttle advanced as the model re-gained speed. Recovery was normal and immediate.
I ran out of time and batteries before I could do stall testing in full landing configuration. Something for next week. 😎

What a nice field!!! My field has trees all around we have to swoop down to land, you can imagine our nerves doing that with big jets, even though I’m used to it already. Great video

Nice flight, but I think I missed the testing part, with the in-flight camera angle and no descriptions in the video at the time its very hard to follow or see how the plane behaves in what situation, cheers

RunCam2. Wide view setting. I bought an extra nose cone and built a camera mount into it. 😎
