Haultenly beautiful. A song so full of emotion that it is hard to imagine a girl so young could capture its essence and blend so perfectly with the superb trumpet solo. But, Jackie did.

I was so lucky to be there for the Orpheum performances. Jackie has brought joy literally to millions now. She remains a remarkable singer yet I miss the excitement her voice brought us in these early years.
At the time of this concert, I couldn't imagine any child singer equaling this performance for it's tonal beauty, sensitivity and sincerity. Today there is still not one who is comparable. More than that, at age 19, Jackie has recorded and/or performed Opera, Classical Crossover, Jazz, ballads, early Pop, R&B, and most recently, contemporary Broadway with her latest album, "The Debut". She has an exceptional ability to adapt her voice to any genre she explores with innate interpretive skill and insight. To my knowledge, she is the most versatile young artist today.
Jackie is an exceptional child. She puts in endless hours of rehearsal, travel, grooming while still getting an education. Wow! what courage standing in front of thousands of people and beginning to sing while watching their faces come alive with love for you !
David Foster remarked on that. That not only did she have huge natural talent, but she also had an incredible work ethic, is very intelligent, and has a great understanding of music, better than many adults he worked with. And yes it takes courage, but she gets the courage because she loves doing it. Nothing makes Jackie happier, than pleasing a live audience, which is why she also never disappoints them.
Pure mastery. What a superb performance. America seems to have the world at its feet when it comes to music. Where on earth do these wonderful talented people come from.
It's a mystery we have no access to. We can only have faith that somehow someone opens a secret passageway that allows someone like Jackie slip out and visit our world. She comes in PEACE and she has spent time with our leader. Ha

She does not enunciate her words clearly but she will learn that in time, she's only age 19 now and probably only about 9 years old in the above video, but her voice is lovely and she will mature in time. At 10 on AGT, she was the most amazing 10 YO singer I'd heard, and by 11, she was the best teen, and by 12 just 'the best' of any age.
