This hits home. I'm more with your dad and my own pops is on the other side of being way too optimistic. My dad afflicted me with the curse of being a die hard Lions fan. Every year he asks how the team is (to give my opinion) which at this point in my life -- after 2+ decades of watching the Lions suck -- is summed up by me saying "we suck, 4-12". Every year my dad counters with "I think this is our year, we're going to the Super Bowl". "I hope so dad, but I'm pretty sure we suck".

The funny thing is 1995 they draft a Tight End that ended up with the Patriots instead of Warren Sapp and of course 2000 draft Brady picked in the 6th round by the Patriots and the Jets draft Chad Pennington in the first round lol The Jets Don't Know How To Draft
Chris Santiago neither did 31 other teams if thats the case. No one knew what Brady was going to turn into
Anthony Perez technically there was only 30 other teams since the Pats took him late in the draft.
TB had one of the worst combines ever. Slow, no arm strength. NE taking him in the 6th round was a miracle. He had one game at Michigan where he threw 5 picks.

Kotite couldn't draft when he was with the Eagles, either. Look at who he's picked from 1991-94. Antoine Davis; who got beat by an unknown Bryce Paup and ended Cunningham for the ' 91 season.
Brazen he was the GM also
Kotite was terrible I agree, but hey if there's one positive thing you can say about him, it's that he's the guy who discovered undrafted receiver Wayne Chrebet, who went on to become one of the best receivers the Jets have ever had.

Something cool the video didn't mention: After Belichick didn't draft Kyle Brady, he traded back with the 49ers, and so the Browns got the 49ers' first rounder next year. By then, the Browns had moved to Baltimore and become the Ravens - and so with the 49ers' original pick, the Ravens chose Ray Lewis.

Ernesto Gastelum horrible players don’t last 13 years. Good blocking TE. But then again you’re probably the type of guy who only reads stat sheets.
I never saw him play, but a guy who lasts that long is either a solid blocker or receiver at TE usually..... and judging by those receiving numbers, I expected as such.

a player who jumps to multiple teams is not a good sign. he was only good as an insurance player until the team he was in got better TE's. TE's who are only good at blocking dont last long on teams. teams only want TE's who are good at receiving or good at receiving and blocking not just blocking
Ernesto Gastelum 3 teams is jumping teams? Huh. A lot of very good players went to multiple locations in their career. He spent nearly a decade out in Jacksonville, which seems stable to me. Not to mention his stop at New England was at the very end of his career.

Kyle Brady's brother Michael was my 4th grade substitute teacher while our actual teacher was out for the first semester with a bun in the oven. Mr. Brady gave us all a signed Kyle Brady Penn State card. I still have it somewhere.

Actually, as a Jets fan, it’s more like you go on the date thinking the girl is hot (because she photoshopped the pictures), but then she shows up and she isn’t. However, you continue the date because you feel bad and you’re a glutton for punishment. Then on-top of it she leaves you with the bill and you never see her again.

Fun fact: Because the Browns couldn't get Brady they traded out of the 10th spot to pick 30 which enabled Tampa to get Sapp.
The Browns had their eyes on two LBs, but had to settle for Craig Powell after (ironically Tampa Bay) took the other prospect they were interested in: Derrick Brooks.
After becoming the Ravens in 1996 they used their 1st rounder and the 1st from San Francisco (with whom the Browns traded the year before) to select Jonathan Ogden and Ray Lewis.
So this selection decided the fate of 4 HoF players.
