@kevalshah4097 Only Martinelli, Saka, Havertz are in first eleven. Jesus is injury prone and terribly inconsistent and while Sterling not at all playing in EPL. Also No CF. Nketiah, ESR, Nelson gone with out proper replacement. You call this strong squad capable of challenging titles? Grow new pair of eyes mate.
as much as I love Saka, I honestly don’t think not having him will make a difference because of what we saw in Martinelli when he shifted to the right side. Odegaard keeps the whole game ticking and the fact that Jesus has been rejuvenated is a game changer.
Arsenal having a strong squad is a horrid take; almost all of our open play chances come down that right hand side with Odegaard and Saka linking up. There are only 2 or 3 other players in the world who could 'replace' Saka in terms of his impact in games and in creating chances.
The issue you speak of is 100% correct but you are blaming squad depth on this. The tactical set up means White, Timber, Odegaard and Saka on the right is allowed to flourish. On the left the chopping and changing and constant injuries to Zinny, Calafiori, Tomiyasu and co means we have no cohesion. One week we have Zinchenko, Rice and Trossard on the left and the next Calafiori, Martinelli and Merino. Arteta has to sort out the balance and that has to come from not having injury prone players. Rice has to be freed up to link the left side like Xhaka did before and to then allow Martinelli and a constant left footed left back actually play together. Martinelli will flourish on the right because he has Odegaard and Timber and White coming back soon. The issue on the left will remain the same. To me the problems are all stemming from the left backs and getting a midfielder on the left of the CM area who can link the attack on that side. Until that happens we will be one sided. Martinelli, Sterling and Jesus are all decent players and even Trossard can play on the right when they are doing it with Odegaard next to them.
As a united fan. I think you should go in for Rafa Leao, play him or martinelli on the right and when saka gets back you get a big winger for saka to set up. I think leao should win you the league maybe next season though.
I would say we currently need 3 more signings ST, LW & a forward passing playmaker like odegaard but has that sense to score goals as well. We get that, we good. that being said, the challenge will be to have these positions as world class players.
As an Arsenal fan it saddens me for the player but this is absolutely the best thing that could've happened. Arteta now has to change the team and use the whole pitch instead of everything goin down the right side. No more will we be easy to defend agaisnt and hopefully we bring back our ruthlessness.
I guess maybe because of financials, they released three attacking players in the last window and signed no attacking player. Saka's injury is a blessing in disguise. I would want to see how much Arteta and the arsenal hierarchy needs this trophies. They need to replace smith, Nelson and Nketiah in the attack this january now that Saka would rest for a while.
Of course Saka is a huge part of what Arsenal do. However, after Saka went off during the Crystal Palace game, Martinelli switched to right, Trossard left. During this change we scored 3 goals- Havertz scored from a Martinelli like assist, Martinelli then scored in the second half and then Rice scored the 5th. Calm down people, we'll be a different Arsenal but we will still be a threat and can play and win. I actually think we'll be better because the effort is going to be spread even more round the whole team- everyone is going to be involed and you won't know who will score for us hence making it a nightmare for opposition. Usually opposition think if they just double mark Saka and and block Odegaard and you nullify us but now it's anybody's guess : )
the moment arteta doesnt play saka and they lose the english media would crucify him. The moment he plays him every game bc he is a national treasure and he gets hurt the media crucifies him
That's a strong statement with a hot emoji sounds more like wishful thinking. But let me say this I watched Wilshire play live and Bukayo, Jack had injuries throughout his career including knees, fructures on both navicular and fibula. Saka has an hamstring nothing much compare to the 2 former. Also without me saying checkout Jack lifestyle and during his playing times and check Bukayo's. The discipline levels are very different. He will recover from the hamstring it's not like an ACL.
Correct, Mbuemo scored 10 goals already, will be a good addition, a club isn't just about one player, the manager and the owners need to find a solution so that Arsenal's title push isn't derailed coz Saka got injured, wish Saka a quick recovery and Arsenal to chase down Liverpool like madness.
The stakes are high at this level, I don't think critics take into account this context. If you want players' to get the rest they need, then put in a minute quota on a player per season, then you enforce clubs to rotate and prevent each player from being over played. It is very primitive to assume you can go and get the player you want when you want it, it doesn't work like that. Lastly how about making the PL more fair for every club so that we don't have these super pumped up clubs with crazy buying power that can drive the competition even harder? Blame the system that encourages over playing players and not the clubs themselves, regardless of who you support. The fact is star players draw in an audience and the league knows this and they are too scared to do anything about it.
Not a Man U fan, but honestly I don’t get how they can say with a straight face “did he [Rashford] really need to go to New York to watch a sporting event, before his New manager arrived”. The clubbing stuff, I understand, but going to watch basketball?! I just don’t see an issue
