College: I have at least a day or 2 to get it back together
Med school: you have 2 hrs to stop being sick

Loved seeing you spend time with family and getting a mini-break from studying. Hope you're feeling better. Last thing, I'm glad you talked about respecting cadavers. (I'm in OT school and don't do dissections, but we gave a moment of silence for them too.)

I really appreciate the fact that you talked about your experience with cadavers. I've always wanted to hear about medical student's experiences with them because you're working with someone who was once alive, living and breathing, just like you. I always thought "How does this affect you emotionally, psychologically?" "What did you do after your first time with the cadavers?" Cry, binge eat, sleep, etc? It's awesome that your professors respect the donors by starting the class with a moment of silence. These people and their bodies need to be respected. Thanks for the amazing content and keep up the great work!!

I’m an undergraduate at university that offers a cadaver lab. It’s honestly been the best experience. I know so much about the body now from transverse pericardial sinus to Gastroduodenal artery to faux cerebri. It’s a joy! And I hope I can get in to med school.

Can you make a video going over your school work for the week? Everyone says its like drinking from a firehose but I can't find any examples of what a typical week might look like in terms of everything you have to study.
Hey! I'm a first-year medical student too - but in Montreal, Canada (in French!)! Your videos have been very entertaining and motivating to me when I sometimes do not feel like studying at all, so thank you! I know it's cheesy to say and I know you are not showing us everything you are doing, but balance is important (the Faculty always likes to remind us that, but they are right!) Don't be scared to go out every once in awhile, or do not beat yourself up if you are sick and fell a little behind. We are medical students, yes, but also human beings lol! You are an exceptionally hard-working person and if you got in medical school, you are able to get through it! Can't wait to see what bright future is awaiting you :)

I’ve been considering going into the medical field and looking at your videos really inspires me. Though I do feel very discouraged since I’m 22 and I feel like it’s too late for that now.
Its really not... In my university we have many people 1st year that are 20+ year old. We even have 3 or 4 40year olds
I’m 26 and about to start my prereqs (graduated college with a degree in Psych this year). Prereqs will take me like 2 years. It’s never too late!

I get what you mean when you say you feel like you have to apologize for not being “a good vlogger” .... but I don’t think it’s true. Like these vlogs you do in medical school are just videos of what’s going on! Every vlog won’t always be packed with “good content”... I say that in quotes because I feel like there’s no “good” or “bad” content... just whatevers going on! MED SCHOOL IS FIRST PRIORITY and I feel like a lot of us here are just grateful to be apart of your journey and cheer you on! Anyone who says that you’re not producing good enough vlogs should try med school AND VLOGGING “GOOD CONTENT” themselves on top of everything else in life hahaha 😂 or maybe if it’s your brain telling you instead (or maybe you feel pressured to vlog every week when people say you’re their weekly inspiration???🤔) just remember WE SUPPORT YOU AND JUST THINK ITS COOL YOURE SHARING WHATEVER IT IS YOU SHARE! ❤️❤️❤️❤️☺️ maybe it would help if you just give yourself more time to vlog... instead of feeling like you have to produce a vlog every week?? Glad to see your recovery was quick! I also started the neuro block and Im going through the school lecture and then reinforcing the material with Boards. Might even indulge in Ninja Nerd’s videos for the tracts. After that I have Behavior and GI. Using this weekend to cover as much as I can!!

When I had anatomy lab, I used to get nightmares of me using a scalpel and splitting my arm, legs, and abdomen open. It was strange because I wasn’t scared or disgusted or felt anything during the actual dissection.

I’m a first year med student in the uk (we mostly do med undergrad) and I’ve been out of lectures and labs since Wednesday because of a stomach bug. I’m gonna try to go back in tomorrow because I’m already completely snowed under with 8 lectures and three labs to catch up on, on top of my standard work load 🙃😭

Food poisoning doesn’t spread from person to person.
It probably was some stomach virus. Does ‘food poisoning’ spread through the vomit or stool? Does the virus spread through sneezes as well? People say it is not an airborne illness.
The virus is contagious for up to a few days after recovery, and can linger in the stool for weeks.
It’s spread through contaminated food/drinking sources. But contagious isn’t the right word you’re looking for. Contagious means that I could spread my sickness, in which I couldn’t. As I said, food poisoning is not contagious and it doesn’t spread from person to person.
I know ‘food poisoning’ is not contagious. I thought you had a virus. And yeah, they both are spread through contaminated food and drinks.
