    Awesome! I missed how it connects to the top level and locks in

      In this video the top level is hardwood, we started vinyl from the first step. If you have to install vinyl on two levels maybe you have to start the top level from the stairs.

    Have you faced the stair nosing bending downwards and warping planks? Can you share how you usually deal with these issues? It seems like its unavoidable for flexible planks.

      The fixture you will make has to be exactly like your stairs then use a glue and heavy weight.

    Could you have kept the original bull nose profile on the stairs and used a stair with the same nose profile(bought) as a bend template?

      Use your imagination, if it works for you it's OK. This video shows you how we did.

      I've done this before, but does it work with the plastic backing? I noticed mine keeps tearing the vinyl face. Does it mean I'm not heating it enough?

    Could I put squared off nose treads on my round tread stairs?

    • @YourHomeSolutionsUSA
      @YourHomeSolutionsUSA  Год назад +1

      The problem is empty space inside. 1) will not glue very good at the nose area. 2) can be cracked by hitting.

    Awesome. Can you bend this way with cork backing? Im using nucore whispercore/rigidcore with cork back.

    Would this work on thicker planks? Like 12mm

    • @YourHomeSolutionsUSA
      @YourHomeSolutionsUSA  9 месяцев назад

      Absolutely! The technique demonstrated in this video can definitely be adapted for thicker planks like 12mm. When working with thicker planks, you may need to heat longer.

    • @mocococo7178
      @mocococo7178 9 месяцев назад +1

      The thicker the plank, the more likely you'll get cracks when bending. If you make 2 grooves with a dado, you'll get really tight bends without cracking or warping and you'll need minimal heat.

    Did you cut a groove in the lvp or anything before bending?

    • @YourHomeSolutionsUSA
      @YourHomeSolutionsUSA  Год назад +2

      No, banded by heat only

    • @mocococo7178
      @mocococo7178 9 месяцев назад

      If you cut 2 grooves with a dado, it'll make nice tight bends without any hairline splitting and you need less heat. Can be done in about 5 minutes per step

    I have tried to do this as well but I failed. The vinyl cracked on me. I heated it u p from the back of the plate I will try on another piece heating op the front. edit and I also precut the board to make it a bit thinner for an easier bend but will try without

  • @James225

    TAKES FOREVER. I got impatient and saw that some people used a torch. That works much faster but wasn't working for my application so I went back to trying the heat gun.
    Patience is the key.
