May 15, 1986 The world premiere launch of the original Top Gun movie took place in San Diego back in 1986 at Cinema 21 theater. Dawn Fratangelo reports.
well top gun 2 is coming out and it might be ok, but it will never be TOP GUN.. you cant make a sequel almost 40 years later and expect the same experience. and the experience is what made it top gun.. the larger than life character in maverick, the soundtrack it was everything.. in my top 5 movies of all time

Top Gun is headed for a billion dollar box office spot and will still make money. I saw it, and what they said was true.
@@Supersweetguy well number 1 It doesn't matter to me how much a film makes, that's not a determining factor in whether or not a film is good.. I saw it a couple weeks ago and it was good, was it as good as what the hype says it is?? Ummm for me, no. My point in my original post was that all the things that made TG special and an iconic movie almost 40 years ago, you cannot recapture that feel no matter how much nostalgia they try to put in.. was it a good movie, ya. But to me, itll never be better than TG.. Maverick is a worthy sequel and IMO they nailed it and probably could not have done it any more justice.. But itll never take the place of the original..

Well I guess they managed to do the impossible. Top Gun Maverick is truly a worthy successor
