Engine sound used as the delorean engine sound in back to the future. Little fun fact.
Some facebook short video talking about bttf delorean made me come look for the porsche 928
This is why I need one of these at some point in my life.
That plus how awesome the car is in its own right.
Some said sound used as the M3 gtr engine sound in 05 nfs Ma ;)
I wonder if this engine would work in a DeLorean. That would be so much better than what it's got.
I could listen to that downshift at 4:23 all day, seriously.
Best sounding car ever made.
These cars are amazing. Nothing more sinister than a exotic sports car that sounds like a muscle car with a nasty v8 under the hood. 928 definitely doesn't get the credit it deserves. One of my favorite sports cars.👍

Never heard my own 928. Thank for sharing
This car sounds as badass and as gorgeous as it looks!
Thank You for sounds
Who needs a radio when you have notes like that
This holds true for any V-8 powered car
2:02 because why not. I'm sure his neighbours love him lol
His neighbor is probably watching from a window panting like a dog.
Just bought a 1992 GTS that was imported from Japan. I bought is mostly because of the factory front fender flares that are exclusively on those few cars. The proiblem is that apparently they like their cars to be quiet. my car sounds practically gutless. i really appreciate the way this car sounds. It's got a great, low V8 rumble but also retains that tight, hollow resonance that's typical only to the 928 motor. i trying to locate an exhaust or mod that will let me hear that wonderful song coming out of my car
Find a reputable local shop and have them make you a custom 4-inch exhaust from the manifolds back and she'll sound like God descending
Custom, make a true dual 3" with a modification to the bumoer for a dual exit. Remove cats and get borla race(straight through)/bullet style mufflers.
Make a hole in the muffler
X-pipe is a common exhaust mod on 928s. 928srus sell them for around $1k
These engines have one of the longest timing belts and a very basic de-tensioner system to compensate for block expansion when it heats up, as a result there's a lot of slack when the engine is cold so revving it like a dick before it's warm is a bad idea. Especially the interference models
Which are the interference models?
i would really like to get one of these, saw one listed and was thinking about it
Buy a well-sorted one with a good interior if you can. Project cars often end up costing a lot. They are fantastic cars but personally, I'd say a manual gearbox really brings out the best in a 928
Hope he wasn't waking up any of his neighbors.
wife comes outside "harry its 2am?".... I kno whoney but I just finished installing my magnaflow exhaust!
I laughed out loud when the dude started the car again after doing a mini burnout into a stall.
Buddy yes best 928 sound ever, but whats exhaust system is that :) ?? Corsa :)
Best naturally aspirated car behind the m6 v10. Must people just don't know about the car until it drives past them one day.Haha.what new 911 sounds better than this car. Please haha
Best naturally aspirated engine is 5.0 v10 Carrera Gt😉
@@JJRock-lv2nc look at the year of this Porsche. And still sounds like that.
rpm with a cold engine isn't a great idea...
Engine sound used as the M3 GTR engine sound in 05 NFS MW
I'm not tripping right that sounds like a 1uz like it's super similar
The second Porsche owner must hate his car and his neighborhood
Yeah guy in the second video is a bit more obnoxious than I would put up with
I prefer a nice cold start and then idle versus “revving” the engine.
How much is he fucking that motor up cold cranking it and revving the hell out of it as soon as it cranks before it has time to warm up first?
Go to bourbon and cars
Hear that one
Funny how much these sound like a cross between a LS3 and a 6.2 Dodge Hemi.....Or maybe the 5.7 GTO. Those aren't LS motors. Its a Australian Holden rebadged. Hate those GTOs Both motors. They are just WAY to big of a BOAT
I mean... As a Ferrari owner, I'm sure you know what a flat-plane crank is, and what a difference that (plus the exhaust setup) makes to the sound of a V-8.
These are obviously cross-plane crank V-8s, like every production German, Asian, and American V-8. (Except recently the Ford Voodoo).
..Do you mean that, even within the cross-plane category, these sound very much like recent GM and Chrysler V-8s? If so, in that case I agree.
Huh? The 5.7 in the 04 GTO is an LS1...
Yeah it IS an LS motor...
Crossplane?
Sounds like a pissed off Jaguar! (The animal, not the car)
Sorry, mine sounded better! 4.7 Euro with headers and 3-inch mandrel bend system. Not even close. There are videos of it on here somewhere, but I don't know how to find them.
Sweet melody, but why the need to rev so hard...? 🤦♀️🤷🏼♀️
The answer is in the question.
Meh, my one doesn't have a cat and I rebuilt the engine + it makes more power than a 928gts, (modified) so it sounds a lot cooler and at a lower tone. Manliest car ever.everybody freaks out when you floor it in the city.
it should be illegal to short shift a 928
im disappointed:(
Honestly…not that great. 🤷🏻♂️
