Chara is actually trying to trick you, because you basically sold your soul to Chara after the first Genocide run, she wants you to do Pacifist, if you do natural, the game will tell you to do pacifist, so it's Chara's goal for you to complete pacifist after selling your soul to Chara to resurrect it, this way when "Frisk" leaves the underground, it's actually Chara being set free to kill both the monsters and the humans, like they always dreamed of. You'll get a different cut scene at the at.
Its technically human nature. If our lives are at risk we tend to persuade or beg the person to spare us, if our lives aren't at risk we may or may not tend to be aggressive towards the person you dont trust at all or couldn't be trusted

Just saying this based off of various resources and passing it on. Flowey's dialogue right before you kill him goes on by itself, you cannot skip it but you cannot leave it because it progresses on its own without your input. You also kill Asgore without input from the player, walk towards Papyrus and skip his puzzles without input, etc. That's the character themselves doing that. When Flowey comes around it does this with his dialogue right until the very end, where he puts on the voice of Asriel and desperately asks you not to kill him. The dialogue stops going by itself. You don't have to murder Flowey. But you, the player, do. Here Chara gives _you_ the choice, the final decision. Like they need confirmation of what they're about to do. If you go back now and reset the game you are free of consequence regarding the TP ending. It's only once you kill Flowey do you ever see Chara and screw up the pacifist ending as well. Chara gave you the choice of input to kill one last time. Chara _hesitated_ Hope that all made sense, correct me if I got something wrong.

Chara is actually a representation of human nature; killing others in games because they're in your way, or because you're bored. Chara is all about the player being the strongest in every game, which is why she says to move on to the next world (game), and is confused when you beat genocide a second time because it wasn't for progress, it was a "perversion".
Furthermore, when Chara refers to you HP, LV, EXP, ATK, DEF going up (like it does in most other games AS A RESULT OF KILLING) that's her presence. Like I said she represents our nature of progress towards a stronger 'chara'cter when playing games.

"Sentimentality" - a sense of nostalgia and fondness for past events. The "perverted sentimentality" is bringing back the world only to destroy it once again. Chara cannot understand such feelings- Why destroy the world just to bring it back? Why keep repeating it if you already know what happens? Chara sees value in gaining power, but such a thing is not useful at all if you just keep starting back at square one. Perhaps another path would be better suited- They're talking about the pacifist route, as that ending has now been altered in their favor.
Chara isn't all evil, they are literally telling you to recreate the world and that ANOTHER path would be better suited. Chara is telling you to stop doing genocide and play a pacifist instead. Chara doesn't want to kill all their monster family, especially Asriel.
Donovan Howes I would suggest watching these videos by Judgment Boy. They were helpful and they prove why Chara isn’t evil. See, they did bad stuff, but nothing unforgivable. In fact, compared to other characters in the game, they didn’t even do anything that bad. Every character is evil in a way though. Every enemy tries to kill you, Toriel tried to raise you rather than bringing you back to your actual parents, and Alphys was doing experiments where she injected people and animals with stuff and turned them into mutants, like some kind of Nazi doctor. The game judges you for using the fight button, but really, everyone is messed up.
None, but at the end of a Pacifist run, you meet all the characters at the same time. If it is a false Pacifist run (that is, If you have sold you soul to Chara in a previous Genocide run), and you tell Toriel that you won't stay with them, when you reach the end game screen where all the main characters appear next to you in a photo, they appear with their faces crossed out with blood. This implies that Chara has killed them afterwards, which s/he couldn't at a Genocide run because Alphys fled while saving several monsters.
Well Chara is the first fallen child and you name them so then you also get to make up what their gender is, whether it be your own gender or just what you prefer it to be. Anyway that's just what I'm guessing since frisk is the same way. (I am positive what you said was meant to be taken completely as a joke and I do actually realize that but i wanted to just put this out there in case i am correct and anybody was curious about Chara and frisk.)

@@g3design637 still interesting tho One of Undertale biggest praises is that there's no correct way to play the game, one of the main themes of Undertale is morality and showing how the characters in the game are shades gray than black and white, the philosophy and the psychology of this game is just fascinating imo. Genocide route is just an attempt to get know more about the characters, it's like what if scenario, it's not about "you shouldn't Genocide" Genocide it's just pretty much a tragic route and chara at the end is just teaching you a lesson about consequences

Just realized that at the end, its flipping the script on the player. Throughout the game, the player murders countless monsters that are helpless to stop her. And at the very end, the game subjects the player to that exact same fate, so they know what all the monsters they killed felt when the player ended their life. That final shot of Chara slicing the player is the same thing Papyrus, Undyne, Alphys, Toriel, and every monster in the game saw when they looked at you. That's absolutely brilliant.

May I use your comment for a comic that I'm writing?
Just saying this based off of various resources and passing it on. Flowey's dialogue right before you kill him goes on by itself, you cannot skip it but you cannot leave it because it progresses on its own without your input. You also kill Asgore without input from the player, walk towards Papyrus and skip his puzzles without input, etc. That's the character themselves doing that. When Flowey comes around it does this with his dialogue right until the very end, where he puts on the voice of Asriel and desperately asks you not to kill him.
The dialogue stops going by itself. You don't have to murder Flowey. But you, the player, do. Here Chara gives _you_ the choice, the final decision. Like they need confirmation of what they're about to do. If you go back now and reset the game you are free of consequence regarding the TP ending. It's only once you kill Flowey do you ever see Chara and screw up the pacifist ending as well. Chara gave you the choice of input to kill one last time. Chara _hesitated_

Chara is actually a representation of human nature; killing others in games because they're in your way, or because you're bored. Chara is all about the player being the strongest in every game, which is why she says to move on to the next world (game), and is confused when you beat genocide a second time because it wasn't for progress, it was a "perversion".

"Sentimentality" - a sense of nostalgia and fondness for past events.
The "perverted sentimentality" is bringing back the world only to destroy it once again. Chara cannot understand such feelings- Why destroy the world just to bring it back? Why keep repeating it if you already know what happens? Chara sees value in gaining power, but such a thing is not useful at all if you just keep starting back at square one.
Perhaps another path would be better suited- They're talking about the pacifist route, as that ending has now been altered in their favor.

Donovan Howes I would suggest watching these videos by Judgment Boy. They were helpful and they prove why Chara isn’t evil. See, they did bad stuff, but nothing unforgivable. In fact, compared to other characters in the game, they didn’t even do anything that bad. The only character they killed was Frisk, and only after the latter killed every monster in the underground.

I didn't know that you couldn't kill Alphys on a genocide run. What are the circumstances that allow you to do it?
None, but at the end of a Pacifist run, you meet all the characters at the same time.
If it is a false Pacifist run (that is, If you have sold you soul to Chara in a previous Genocide run), and you tell Toriel that you won't stay with them, when you reach the end game screen where all the main characters appear next to you in a photo, they appear with their faces crossed out with blood. This implies that Chara has killed them afterwards, which s/he couldn't at a Genocide run because Alphys fled while saving several monsters.

One of Undertale biggest praises is that there's no correct way to play the game, one of the main themes of Undertale is morality and showing how the characters in the game are shades gray than black and white, the philosophy and the psychology of this game is just fascinating imo. Genocide route is just an attempt to get know more about the characters, it's like what if scenario, it's not about "you shouldn't Genocide" Genocide it's just pretty much a tragic route and chara at the end is just teaching you a lesson about consequences

DaDerpyCarrot the only hard part about sans is when he is doing his final attack and you have to avoid the gaster blasters by going in a circle

@@Codefan321 probably literally playing everyday? genocide goes on pretty quick since alot of interactio and stuff is missing so doing one run in like 2 to 3 hours is very much possible
Just realized that at the end, its flipping the script on the player. Throughout the game, the player murders countless monsters that are helpless to stop her. And at the very end, the game subjects the player to that exact same fate, so they know what all the monsters they killed felt when the player ended their life. That final shot of Chara slicing the player is the same thing Papyrus, Undyne, Alphys, Toriel, and every monster in the game saw when they looked at you. That's absolutely brilliant.
Chara: Frisk, stop killing everyone. I’m just here to finish the job, EVERY TIME. Even Sans knows what you’re doing to this timeline. Move it once, move it twice, move it here, move it there, but you do the same thing. Try doing a different thing for once, JERK.
