- Lyon, also spelled in English as Lyons, is the third-largest city and second-largest metropolitan area of France. It is located at the confluence of the rivers Rhône and Saône, to the northwest of the French Alps.
The capital of the Gauls during the Roman Empire, Lyon is the seat of an archbishopric whose holder bears the title of Primate of the Gauls. Lyon became a major economic hub during the Renaissance. The city is recognised for its cuisine and gastronomy, as well as historical and architectural landmarks; as such, the districts of Old Lyon, the Fourvière hill, the Presqu'île and the slopes of the Croix-Rousse are inscribed on the UNESCO World Heritage List. Lyon was historically an important area for the production and weaving of silk.

Third biggest city in France. You have the very old center and the newer part, but yes, small streets are never easy to navigate :-)

Very nice! How do you mount your camera for this? I have had trouble with glare and reflections with mine.
With a suction cup from gopro on the outside of the car. This means I do not run the risk of having glare from the windshild.

Hello! I plan to have a trip to Lyon for two days, but I am confused about which parking zone is TEMPO or PRESTO and how to distinguish between them.
It is indicated in the zone where you park whether it's for unloading or for a period of stay. There are also underground parking garages which might be better.

My feeling is that you are driving way too fast and going through red lights. Not good. I see a lot of obstacles coming your way (disobedient scooters, erratic bike riders) and it is scary.
I try to go a bit slower than traffic speed in order to leave room between myself (the camera view) and the vehicle in front of me to have a view of the city. It might be that the video speed is playing it a bit faster than "real life" thus seems we are going fast. Indeed I went through a red light which I made a mistake. Hope you enjoyed the video :-)
@@AdventurousA Thanks for your reply. Your video confirmed what most people I know in France complain about: the erratic behavior of scooters and bike riders changing lanes carelessly. I saw it first hand on your video; They are much more dangerous than cars.
A dear friend of mine lost her brother accidentally in Lyon a year ago when he had to avoid a cyclist who turn left in front of him without signaling his intention; He was on a motorcycle and he hit a pole really hard and died on the spot. Absolutely tragic.
That being said I love these driving videos where you feel you are sitting in the car next to the driver. Take care
