If you booked your flight with Ryanair through their website, you bought the "TRAVEL LIGHT" ticket, this allows only one small bag that must fit under the seat in front of you. That`s why it was cheap and that`s why they charged you an additional fee as your bigger bag had to go into the hold. If you had booked "PLUS" you can take one small bag that must fit under the seat in front of you, once checked-in back in the hold, 20kg, reserved seating and free check-in at the airport. It would have been cheaper for you, leaving a few euro to buy another Heineken :))

Haha yeah another Heineken would have been great, love Heinekens in Amsterdam. Thank you for the information. On the way back I had a direct flight from Dublin to Kiev, but for some reason they the airline did not ask me to pay additional money for my second bag so I was able to sneak it in on flight.
