My new 12 note Kalimba looks different. It doesn't have the shorter notes, and the notes on the left and right gradually increase to the center. I plan to get a book to practice notes and learn more easy songs, but I wonder if the book will work for my instrument.
Alex Frost actually lotus is the tuning it is in, not a type of kalimba. Most people will buy a Kalimba already tuned in lotus tuning though. The tines have to be long enough from what MArk Holdaway told me.
Paperinomago99 as I told the guy who was being a smart *** to you, lotus is a type of tuning. Saregama came up with this tuning himself. He also has others that he names. The song the Lotus Solo was tabulated by Mark Holdaway after Saregama wrote it. It took a long time for Saregama to write the entire piece. Got over to www.kalimbamagic.com and you will see that Mark does sell a “Lotus” kalimba, but it is a high/low key or split key kalimba with the Lotus tuning.I have one right now but it isn’t tuned to lotus. I plan to purchase a separate kalimba that will be tuned to this and I will just keep it tuned to the lotus tuning. You can also purchase the lotus solo book and tutorial on this website. But it isn’t tab’d the way we are used to. It is tabbed very differently so there is a tutorial on how to read the tabs!
It isn’t G miinor. It is called the Lotus tuning. Here is the full link. This is one that you can tune yourself into C major lotus tuning. If you want the true lotus tuning in E minor/A minor then it should be done by the pros. www.kalimbamagic.com/blog/item/new-tunings-for-the-lotus-1
Mahmud Karim Actually it is not in minor. The lotus is it’s own tuning made by Saregama in E minor/Aminor and should be tuned by professionals at least at the start. But if you want to tune your own Mark says you can tune it to a C major lotus tuning.
I have searched for a "Lotus Kalimba" but there does not see to be one for sale under that name....what key is it in? Could you just please tell me what to buy to learn to play and produce this magical sound, I would really appreciate it...really! I work with special needs kids, and I know they would love it. Thank you...Dee
Thank you so much for your contribution to Kalimba! I must say I was a little surprised to see that you charge for the full tutorial. It seems so out of the spirit of this sacred sound and instrument. How many people are purchasing the full tutorial? Think of how much further the magic of your lotus sound could spread if there weren't such barriers in the way. Sharing is so important in this world, but there are so many opportunities for it which are missed. Peas
+Marius Bett Thanks for sharing your opinion. I charge for my time and effort put into the creation of this tutorial. It took me more than 30 hours of work to make it. Think I deserve some substantial repercussion for that. The full video tutorial is a luxury. Those who find it beyond their means can still learn the composition with the sheet music and MIDI file, so there are no barriers for spreading the magic.
+SaReGaMa Thank you for your reply. I fully respect the value of your time and effort, it is after all down to both that the Lotus Kalimba exists. Although I humbly imagine that life would shower down upon you the repercussions (good pun!) you deserve from such an act and attitude of sharing. This is, after all, how life works. Where may I freely find the sheet music and MIDI file? Huge thanks,
+Marius Bett I salute to your mindset, but in this reality most people won't give back if they don't have to. For years I've been practicing the ideals of sharing and gratuitousness, which brought me nowhere but to the verge of poverty. I don't know what reality you live in, but in my reality life won't shower upon you anything, unless you turn that faucet yourself. So I'm gonna trust my own experience here and not some beautiful stories. The sheet music and MIDI file are available at kalimba-lotus.blogspot.com/ for whatever amount you think is fair.
Marius Bett Do you have any idea how long it took him to compose this music? Then he and MArk had to sit down and put it all on paper. I plan to buy it and have no problem. I guess as an artist and musician, I get a little frustrated at how people seem to want everything for free, and have no idea how much time and effort are put into the arts. Just because someone enjoys their job doesn’t mean it should be considered free.or unpaid.
Wow, I was considering learning to play kalimba, but seeing this is kinda discouraging for me... My left and right hands always wanna stay sync-ed. ^^' No kalimba for me, I guess. x)

What is the differce between Lotus and Freygish?
So right side keeps the beat kinda like a drummer?
Can you please tell me what kind of Kalimba is this? I don't know much about kalimbas...
+Paperinomago99 Dude, it's "Lotus" kalimba.
Thanks! I'm not so expert, you know!
You can get more information about kalimbas on the site Kalimba magic

I agree. I am sure enough revenue was gained by Sargama through youtube advertising. His lotus video is the 1st kalimba vid on YT.
