  • Today, Ed is in Utah for the regional event called Utahmonium. This time, he is fixing a pond at a Luxury Hotel called the Waldorf Astoria in Park City. Their pond is in horrible shape, and Ed is getting the ideas together to fix it.

    What do you think of my ideas for the pond build? Part 2 will go live on 10/28/23!

    Loved this Ed! You did a fantastic job explaining the science behind this and the extreme importance of setting it up correctly from the beginning. After seeing the build this video gives clear understanding of why everything was done the way you all built it. Thank you Ed for sharing your knowledge with us.

    This will be a wonderful opportunity for people to learn about the importance of flow and build of this pond. Watching for the next video.

    I have been following the earlier videos for the build at the Waldrof Astroria in Park City. This to me was the "director cut" that explained the particulars I did not see initially during the other videos. I did pose the question of the 'rain runoff' from the hotel roofline and got my answer. I however, did not see the structural buildup (those structural blocks really Rock!) around the aqua-blocks as I thought you explained. Wow! 6 feet! Again, this really makes a big difference, hearing your 'behind the scenes' building of Aquascape ponds with proven science and how to mimic nature in the final completion! This was a challenging build. I look forward to seeing this particular pond during the harsh winter anticipated. I am going to watch the earlier videos to see if I inadvertently miss those details. Thanks Ed!

    Can you go deeper than the frost line to help the water to move during winter season?

    • @EdThePondProfessor
      @EdThePondProfessor  10 месяцев назад

      Yes,
      Going deeper is always better but it will cost more due to the added installation complexities….

    Off the subject, can you please tell me the name of the energy efficient pond pump you showed? I can’t remember the video. Can I buy it from you or is it for retail only & not the public?

    • @EdThePondProfessor
      @EdThePondProfessor  10 месяцев назад

      It was an Aquasurge 5000 pump and it’s a workhorse!!!
      We sell it online or you can purchase it at a wide variety of Garden Centers and Pond Stores…..

    Can't you just heat the water like a pool? Not 85° but warm enough not to freeze?
